I'm a USC fan and was at this contest. As much as I thought USC should have won this game, the bottom line is that Texas has scoreboard. I refuse to blame the refs for a few calls. The calls went both ways. It may have hurt real bad to witness the Trojans come very close to winning the Rose Bowl, however as a sports fan, it's only fair to give props to Vince Young and his team for out scoring USC. Like I said to a bunch of classy Texas fans after that incredible game, congratulations, I'll say it once more to all the Texas Longhorns fans that ever read this post, congrats once again regarding your team winning this match, you folks deserved to be the 2005 Champions!
Vince didn't win that game, UT's Defense did. in the first half Texas stuffed USC on 4th and short and that great reaction interception at the goal line. no other team could have done that. that was a touchdown for USC any other time. then late in the game Pete Carroll made absolutely the right call to go for it. keep VY off the field. and keep Reggie on the sideline too. run a big back package to Lindale. Texas stuffed it. but it was the right call and Pete hasn't regretted it since. USC had a big leg kicker too. give you guys a few extra seconds and who knows? this was a classic for the ages no matter who won it. Leinart was a bit cheesy for saying USC should have won but he's never forgotten the fact that Mack Brown showed a ton of class to find him as the game ended and congratulate him on a great game. great game USC!
I saw them play Michigan in 2005 and USC in 2006. I have always been fans of both teams ever since because the classy sportsmanship of both teams' fans added so much to the experience. My experience with Bama fans in 2010 was much less than desirable, which I will also never forget. Let's just say, suboptimal classiness.

Amazing! A great season. 19 seconds were significant for us in the games with Ohio State. We got a safety with 19 seconds left in the game against Ohio State and got the on side kick. Against USC we scored the winning td with 19 seconds left against USC and got a two point conversion.
This was the best National Championship gamr. The only two undefeated teams that year. The two best teams in the Nation. No BCS controversy. The best ending to a magnificent game. I have not seen one like it since. By the way, I bleed Orange.

Never will a game of such intensity be played, never will a national championship game exceed this one. I remember watching it well, the very speed of the game was unlike anything I'd have ever seen in a game of football... it was the clash of two titans and Vince won the day. This game should inspire future generations of football players as to what can happen when you believe in your team

This team would CRUSH ANY SEC team that has won the NC since 2006...easily. This is one of the best teams ever. 52 pts a game and a top 3 defense...that's pure dominance.
