I love that you caught the point about Jet being against anyone from the fire nation at the start and dying at the hands of one of his own, an earth bender. ❤
Something I like after some rewatches of the show is the role of the Rough Rhinos soldiers on the couple of episodes they show up. First they are kind of “goons of the week” for our heroes to fight off, then Iroh humanizes them a bit with the whole “singing troupe” thing, but then when we are shown them as the ones who attacked Jet’s hometown, we realize again the damage these people made, not just to that town and others they attacked directly, but also to the people Jet harmed because of the hatred that he kept
19:58 Aang isn't playing around anymore. 25:53 Zuko is so bad that doing one good deed makes him sick... :D 30:30 Yeah! 31:03 Sofie: ''No, no, no, no...' :) 34:04 "We are the Earth King's humble servants..." That ending is amazing.
I like the observation that Jet and Zuko were fighting their own kinds of brainwashing. As usual, sharp observations paired with kindest empathy. Happy New Year
I love your observations about Jet. I never thought that he died fighting Earth Kingdom citizens before, though that is manifestly what happened. Avatar is really good about showing good and bad people from all nations. Zuko absolutely needed to hear what Iroh told him in 2x17, but imo, Iroh also pushed too hard. While Iroh challenged Zuko not to fall into someone else's preset vision for his life, it's obvious to Zuko that Iroh has an agenda for him. Iroh *does not* want him to pursue the Avatar, make war on the Avatar or his allies, or seek a return to power. Iroh wants Zuko to live a peaceful life with him in Ba Sing Se, to simply be a family of the pair of them and start again. Iroh isn't saying that, but it's manifestly what he wants from Zuko, and the fact that Zuko hasn't thought his plan through completely isn't the only reason Iroh is being so emphatic. That Zuko is still conflicted in his thinking can be seen in his dreams in the next episode. In effect, he hasn't figured out what he really wants yet. Zuko lets Appa go, lets the Blue Spirit go in 2x17 primarily because Iroh wants him to. And that's not good enough. Sokka is absolutely, 1000 percent the leader of Team Avatar by now, wielding Aang and all the others against the Fire Nation. He has a plan, a fierce intelligence, and a powerful charisma in 2x18. The Earth King at first takes him for the Avatar. He spearheads proving the Dai Li conspiracy. He pitches his invasion plan and asks for what is effectively an international war effort against the Fire Nation. He is the de facto spokesperson for both the Avatar and both the Northern and Southern Water Tribes in doing this, as well as the originator of a master strategy and a general in his own right, and the Earth King takes him completely seriously. The Earth King is naive and childlike because he's been deliberately kept this way. But he is also not an idiot. And here's the thing: Sokka is at most sixteen years old (because we don't know when the birthdays are), and this isn't even the first time he's served as a valuable intelligence asset in a war (he provided vital advice and information at the North Pole too, and was also taken seriously by that tribe's leader, to the extent that the chief entrusted Sokka with the protection of his own daughter). Sokka is freaking terrifying.
1:34 Fantastic smile. :) 3:24 How she says their names she sounds like a robot. 10:19 'I'm So Fie... Welcome to Ba Sing Se...' 12:22-13:23 I really liked your face expressions to that Iroh speech part. 13:23 No, not yet. :)
Jet's internal injuries was too much that Longshot had to do a mercy killing with his bow and arrow but it was too dark for Nickelodeon to air so they changed the scene as you saw it in the episode
5:11 Apparently if Sokka is holding them correctly it should be upside down 😂😂. Old sweepy might be a Dai Li agent since they’re the ones keeping Appa and there’d be no reason to keep him where he could be seen by others 🤨🤨. So with Katara being able to heal a persons mind through the brainwashing it’s gotta be some kind of energy or chi stagnation that keeps your mind from realizing it’s under hypnosis.
I don't think the guy was a Dai Li agent, just a terrified citizen who was threatened by them to lie to Aang. Everyone's rightfully terrified of them after all.
I like Jet's end and his redemption. Even though he was an extremist, he still wants good for his people and sadly he was killed by his own people. And good catch on how skilled he is, he can stand his own against Fire and Earth benders and even give Zuko and Aang a good fight. Zuko's sickness is because that he is going against everything he know, capturing avatar, retrieving his honour, his country, everything.
I've just realised, the Earthking thougth Sokka was the Avatar, because Sokka has the right age to be the Avatar after the Airnomad-avatar, since he most likely doesn't know about the airnomadgenocide.
@@jp3813 The king didn't think Sokka to be the Air-avatar, but the Water-Avater - the king didn't know about the war, so he would think that the avatar-circle would have continued as it should
SoFie: She's a beast. Toph: "You just stood your ground against a crazy beast. And even more impressive, you stood your ground against me!” Me: So according to her, she's not a beast. She's much worse.)))
Well, technically the princess died too. Even though she became the moon. Actually, only four characters died in the series. One of the living ones. Three good ones, one bad one. Jet was the second.
Not the first time a bad guy has killed a teenager in this show, they just managed to slip the first one past the censors by playing it as a joke. It was Yue's douchebag fiancé. He was last seen being thrown off Zhao's bridge and either falling into the freezing arctic water with no way back to land, or landing hard on the metal deck several stories below. Either way, he's definitely dead.
the sickness should tell you how serious this is. a lot of times, we watch this show and either never went through it, or forget it can happen - stress and a loss of identity can cripple you. i'm talking about adults, Zuko's a 16 year old kid. You have to realize who his father is to him, more than a father, he's a lord, the entire identity of the Fire Nation, and in case you forgot, the kid's a patriot. More than being raised to love his nation, it's just his home that he knows with everyone he knows. To us its obvious, but it's no easily dismissed thing for anyone raised that way who's into their nation's goals and ideals that deep. All this helps him ignore what his father is and does, so he becomes just this person and face in his mind he must honor and respect. There are so many human needs and goals wrapped up in simply...going home. Whenever his mind shifts to the alternative, it probably panics or fights him. If he doesn't try to capture the Avatar, then what? He doesn't go home? He opposes his family and nation even by the simple act of living freely as an Earth Kingfom refugee. And then you have the voice of his mother in his head from Zuko Alone telling him to "never forget who you are!". A 16-year old kid with more expectations than most adults, and another point to remember, when you're 16....adults, military, especially mom and dad....they're kind of infallible. Think of how many people brand Zuko as a disgrace and a traitor. It might seem easy to let it go, but....not for a teenager. Not one raised that way. And if it's possible, it will be pure mental agony.
The blind bandit's blind jokes will reach their peak in the third book. But watching your reaction to it is a real pleasure. Almost the same as Uncle Iroh's tea.
Knowing what's going to happen in two episodes, the scene with Zuko and the dragons is a huge spoiler. Although, they will explain to us where this struggle between good and evil came from. The story is long and sad.
When the world needed her most she returned.
Desperately 😢
Factssss bruh I knew I was missing something in my routine 😂
30:21 "you know prince Zuko, it won't kill you do so something nice once in a while"
Zuko: *almost died* 🤣🤣
I love that you caught the point about Jet being against anyone from the fire nation at the start and dying at the hands of one of his own, an earth bender. ❤
"Zuko's immune system is rejecting his moral compass."
Zuko _angsted himself into a coma._
15:42 "Eat him!"
Literally every reactor I've ever watched. 😅
More than half of reactor use those EXACT words every time
17:09 you know, it was really unclear
I love how you just pushed away your memory of the heartbreaking episodes and thought 14 was the last one, lol.
Too real man, I didn't even watch those episodes till I knew this one was out 😂
Finally!! These are the best Avatar reaction vids on RUclips; wish they were uploaded more frequently 😭❤️❤️
Fr 😭

In the scene when Sokka asked "Where is the king?" in our country, Toph's response was different. She replied: "I don't actually live here."))

Scrolled down to look for this comment, was not disappointed
Some of the cliffhangers in this serie are so great!
They were frustrating as a kid sometimes when it was airing live. lol
"We are the Earth King's humble servants."
34:10 The Realization 😄😂
Loving your Expressions
In the comics Toph and Bumi had a friendly battle to see who was the greatest earth bender of all time and it ended as a stalemate :D

We didn't just lose Jet in these episodes, we also lost Suki. RIP both. :(
Sofie, since you asked if Jet got killed: You know, it was really unclear.

Caught your new vid right as I sat down for lunch! Love your Avatar reacts!!
Bon appétit!
Sofie: We have to save Toph now.
Me: Why? Do you think she can't save herself on her own? It's not like she's putting a poster on the wall.)))

The earth king is one of the greatest and most danverous villian and he gets away with it all in the end. 😑

Happy New Year Sofie! 🎉
Happy new Year Sofi 🎉💚
SoFie: She's a beast.
Toph: "You just stood your ground against a crazy beast. And even more impressive, you stood your ground against me!”
Me: So according to her, she's not a beast. She's much worse.)))
Does Sofie post edited reactions on Patreon or are they only unedited without the show alongside them?
"He was spitting fire" Iroh, spitting fire x'd Ik no pun intended but that was funny xd
Great episodes 😁
😅 Who said anything about dead?
Your conclusions are a reflection of your desire to have Sokka all to yourself. ☝️😂
Appas lost days isn't even the most tragic episode of the season. 🤷
The most tragic episode is the twentieth. Although there was a hint of what would happen in the first one.
Jet is dead. They just can't say it because it is a kid's show... technically.
Well, technically the princess died too. Even though she became the moon. Actually, only four characters died in the series. One of the living ones. Three good ones, one bad one. Jet was the second.

@НикитаТрусов-ю4с zhao, jet, yue, and? i forgot lol is it her fiancee?🤣🤣
@НикитаТрусов-ю4с That's kinda spoilery.

Season 2 is my favorite season, but all of my favorite episodes are in season 3.
I remember that I thought a wile during that episode: "Who cares if the Fire Nation take the city. One brutal regime or annother, it doesn`t matter. "
Yeah, Maybe no one told you yet but... Avatar is NOT a kid's show 😞
The blind bandit's blind jokes will reach their peak in the third book. But watching your reaction to it is a real pleasure. Almost the same as Uncle Iroh's tea.
Happy new Year! I hope it will be e great one for you!
Most likely Jet is dead. It is not directly stated because it is a nickolodean show/kids show so they can't say Jet died :D
Extremely powerful episode and they just get more powerful
where can i hear you sing ?
SoFie, for the next episode, I recommend buying onions and bananas. Don't ask me why. It's necessary.)))
Haha! I think she recorded more episodes in advance, though, so it might be late for "next episode" preparations.
Did they imply he was about to die?
“You know, it was really unclear”
One three hill?
Oh man
Welcome back
Hello, pretty woman! Have you seen the Mummy in 1999??? If not, make a reaction, you won't regret it!)
For Nickelodeon to pick this up and no other anime company is absoluty beyond me
Do you have a Man?
Knowing what's going to happen in two episodes, the scene with Zuko and the dragons is a huge spoiler. Although, they will explain to us where this struggle between good and evil came from. The story is long and sad.
The scene with the dragons is not a spoiler though, it's just storytelling
It’s censored for nickelodeon but jet is unofficially dead
