Had the same issue about a year ago. Replaced the valve assembly and of course that fixed it. So glad i did a search and found this helpful video. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the video! I’m pissed though, because the only way to get the thermocouple to make contact…no matter how much I tightened it, was to wrap a wire around the control box to hold the thermocouple in place…forcing contact. I shouldn’t be having to take these jerry rigged measures on a 3 year old water heater
Mine did the same thing. Seen a video about it and after driving to Menards in the middle of the night to get a new thermocouple which didn't fix it, I removed the sensor, and it has worked fine for a year now.
I took a t50 staple and connected those two wires on that plastic piece on top of the thermocouple. Great to temporarily use the heater. As long as the pilot stays lit your good.when my new one arrives I'm going try and splice the new one in instead of replacing the valve assembly
Great tip on how to temporarily fix it but don’t try to splice on the new “sensor” because the actual sensor is internal to the valve. Unfortunately you need to replace the entire thing.
I"m going to give this a try tomorrow. Thanks. Do you have any follow up on how it has held up over time (assuming you have not replaced the fuse). Thanks.
I called and they said I had to replace the valve. But they don’t have the valve and I need to call around and find one. Wish I could just replace the damn fuse/sensor and save 400+ bucks
Not too useful without showing how and what was put back together!? Did the "fuse/sensor?" get reinstalled, if so, how? How is it removed in the first place?
It's a year 😢 late, but I'm so thankful and grateful . This got the tank going. Thanks so much!
Amazing you saved me so much money and headache. 10 min fix love it appreciate it keep it commin

Thank you I replaced the thermocouple and had no luck. I saw this. This was the problem. Thanks I have hot water now 😊
That's why there is a brass connector between the copper and the sensor to prevent corrosion .
Means open line, not over load

My plumber pulled this trick on my water heater. Went bad yesterday. Their fix lasted about 6 months.
@@jimfiegel7396 I'm jealous - I tried. Nada. New Thermo, nada. I'm at a loss.

Please tell Me the function of two white wire between magnet cell and thermocouple. Reply me in written I am from Pakistan.
To prevent the water from getting to hot and burning someone just a added safety feature
You didn't use enough yellow pipe dope!! LMAO
Fuses are not sensors.
what does a fuse do. it senses a overload in a system and breaks so the system doesn't break. Key word Senses
Did these ppl not watch your video?? The fuse is off at the end
