That particular regulator is bad because it has an over heat sensor that the thermocouple connects to that fails very easily. Once the water in the tank sits cold for a while condensate builds up inside the burner assembly and when you light it water will drop into the burner. It's not a leak, it's condensate from the air sweating on the cold tank as it heats up

I have one 9yrs old kept cleaning every 2 yrs this time it's not working. I used compressed air on the gas and the thermocouple as well. 3 days without water not going to play with this anymore. Time for a pro to solve this. Probably will go new. The video is good for day as long as rhey continue to be safe.

I would rather see you use the proper size wrench to loosen/tighten the nuts on the connecting lines instead of the channel lock pliers which will round off the nuts.

My pilot lite stays lit but the burner lites but then it flares up then turns out
While having burner out ,you should have blown air inlet screens clean.
it ended up having a leak so they replaced it on warranty but ima take that advise
I have that same exact unit and it’s doing the same thing, I believe there was a bad batch of this model. I’m still waiting for the warranty department to get on the ball. We been with out hot water for days. The unit was purchased in the end of 2020
yep same thing warrant item but luckily this customer had the store cover them instead of manufacture
having no hot water sucks , especially depending on where you are its cd

How do you change out the igniter
you mean the gas regulator where the pilot knob is at , because the actual igniter i pulled it out with that entire assembly and u can change it practically with the same steps
My pilot light is lit but the burner is not coming on. What could cause that?
not sure what setup you have , make sure it’s on “on” and not set to pilot of course turn it up “temp” but you can pull the burner assembly clean it make sure lines are not clogged and at worst replace your gas regulator it’s not gated and way cheaper then buying a new hwt
Thanks. It’s a 13 year old Raheem standard gas valve. Settings have not been touched. I will pull the burner assy out and clean like you said and see if that helps. Only getting Luke warm water
My pilot won’t light
I dont have an issue with the pilot staying on, my issue is the main burner keeps going out after I get the pilot lit. Itll stay on for a few seconds then turn off. Do you know what causes that?
Did you clean the flame sensor off with sand paper yet ?

Silly question but do you have the knob on pilot ? And to start at the cheapest thing replace the sensor could be cracked or all the way bad if that doesn’t work you are going to have to replace the gas regulator
