I’m sorry to say, but as a 61 year old technical dinosaur, I find the Kemper so easy to use, from profiling to the basic rig manager. And I have tried a plethora of other products over the years. Yeah, anything takes a bit of work to get 100%, but the Liquid Profiling has simplified and enhanced my process. If the profiler had been around in the 80’s, I probably wouldn’t be on crutches today. I love that Peavey and the profiles you have made. Great show! Keep them coming! Come on Kemper! Send Shane a Kemper Kabinet. It’ll get him closer to the “amp in the room” and presence on stage. 😉
It’s a good unit but the menu diving via the unit isn’t the best for beginners compared with say a processor pedal with touch functionality. It’s still manageable but I don’t love it.
I’m right with Jim as a 70 year old. The Kemper is so good especially with the liquid profiling and the Kemper Kone. It’s right on song, and the way Kemper looks after their product is impressive in this day and age. Love the channel Shane, keep Aussie guitarists in the mix. Now, are your profile’s available on the rig manager, that would be nice. 🎸🇦🇺🤘🦘
@@grahamtaylor3093 Ha, haaa. I wanted to ask him about his profiles as well. But thought I wouldn’t push my luck. That Peavey sounds really good. Cheers
Hey Shane, you certainly have captured your Amp sounds. I can see/hear how that will make life easier on your Channel. I agree about the multi effects "option paralysis" About twelve months ago I had found the Amp/Pedal sounds I like to use. After pricing out Pedals vs Multi I went with a Boss GX-100 Multi Effects and was struck by how the Pre Sets were so complex. I ignored all of that and put together my User Pre Sets with just a range of simple Pedal/Reverb/Delay Patches and a switchable Amp Sim for DI. This took a bit of time , but it was what I had to do to make it user friendly if I play live. So I have a Clean/Modulated Bank, and my Overdrive/Distortion/Fuzz Bank. I have one more complex Pre Set. I downloaded a Ventures Patch and added a Blues Driver for the Dirty Surf Guitar sound I love. They all go into my Fender Tone Master Super Reverb, or switch on the Amp Sims for DI. So now I have my Amp/Pedal sounds and pretty much the same sound if I go DI, without having to change Pedal settings. All by having one switch underfoot. It works for me. Once again there is no one way, it is finding out what You want to do and get/use the Tools to achieve it. Cheers Pete
Great clean tones! And that Marshall tone is so instantly recognisable. I'm not a pro, but I've been playing in bands since 1978 (I'm 64) and for the last few years the Kemper has freed me from the unpredictability, volume and sheer weight of valve (tube) amps. I play through a Powered Kemper Kabinet with the power amp boost engaged - you need that for sufficient monitor volume - and send a stereo signal through our band's PA. The Kabinet will feed back given enough volume, and 'speak' back to me, just like a real cab. I could play through a real cab (I have the powered toaster) but my backup is a Stage, which is unpowered, so by activating the V30 imprints it sounds a lot like the signal going to FOH. I absolutely love it. I have dispensed with all external effects except Digitech Freqout (to get some feedback when volumes are sometimes too low), and of course I have an expression pedal added (Mission - doubles as volume/wah, but using the many wah options offered by the Kemper itself). The onboard effects are excellent, and good enough for me.
I had a Fender Mustang modeling amp but sold it due to "option paralysis". "Dumbing down" the option features actually make these modelers more effective. Well done walking us through that process. BTW that Kessel looks great! Nice to see that you haven’t fallen for the “beat up guitar” look that many of the “cool guys” are sporting.
I just happened to be wearing my headphones when this video came up, so not listening on the phone speaker as I usually do. Sounded great. Even if the Kemper only gets you a certain percentage of the way there, you are going to have a consistently usable tone and spend more time playing than stuffing around getting the sound dialed in for each individual session.
Kemper is nice! Guitar processors can make a big difference in sound depending on the CAB IR you use. actually there are many IR products on the market, but I think DYNAX IR has the best sound. As stated in their product description, DYNAX IR is really fast. When using IRs, the pick attack is sometimes delayed, and it is difficult to add picking nuances, but their IR prevents all of that. It's revolutionary!
The Peavey with that Kiesel sound great! I agree about the tone rabbit hole folks go down. The hard part is finding the sounds you like most that you make. After that, you have your sound.
I don’t have the kemper but do have the Headrush Prime and similarly sometimes it clones perfect and other times takes a little tweaking, but it does it. Sounds great Shane.
It certainly sounded like you, Shane. It's great that you can tailor the use to your needs rather than necessarily be driven by the device. Do you know if the Kemper capture/profiling capability has been upgraded or improved since your older rack model? Thanks.
I like how you are profiling some base amp tones from each of your amplifier. You have the basic building blocks to have all your amps in one. Do plan on adding more amps that you don’t own? I remember the process of profiling an amp is loud and obnoxious so going to Sky Music would be out of the question!! I’m happy you found a solution for recording!!😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Hey big fella long time no see. Look mate the rig sounds pretty tops did you see that artist dropped the seafoam green strat as a lefty now for $499? Would be sick to see you have a go on it
Man, I remember shilling you the kemper amplifier all the way back in the intheblues forum days. Also, how the hell did I get unsubscribed ?!!??! I noticed you weren't showing up in my feed thought u were on break !
Man, RUclips has been a trainwreck lately. Every video people are saying they were unsubbed or the notifications aren't working. It's frustrating. I'm not sure what you mean by shilling me the kemper, but I paid for this myself.
Sorry but I’m not sold on Tube amps and the lack of available amp service technicians makes it even harder to justify. If you can simplify your amp set up using the Kemper then that’s a good thing. I have a lot of pedals and I think next step for me is to reduce my pedal collection to the basics. I would be interested to know what you consider are essential pedals.
A stupid question? Hey Shane, Is it possible and affordable to buy already profiled amps and tones for the Kemper? I don’t own any amps worth profiling and I’ve never used a profiling tool.
G’day mate, thanks for your question. Check out Michael Britt’s Kemper profile packs. There’s a bunch of iconic amps and speaker combinations that cover every musical genre!
So if you record/sample/profile all your amps, would you part with your amp? Sounds like you could just borrow amps, profile them and send them back. Nothing stopping you there especially if you wanted some crazy expensive amps. But it also leaves another thought above longevity. Tube amps can be serviced (usually), these digital modeling has a finite life span. Software/interfaces can get become outdated and electronics can fail with no way to mod them. Personally, the way my gigs are going I may end up with some sort of digital interface and stop using a real amp. But Shane is right, nothing sounds or feels better when plugged into a real amp cranked up.
I want to clear out my studio so it’s not as full so this made getting some floor space back great. I’m not too interested in profiling a hundred amps but I’ll do it now and then anytime something impressive pops up 😊👍 these have been around for 10 years and they’ve got a a great warranty. Unlike a bunch of stuff that gets hype then disappears they stuck by this.
Kemper used to be the go to modeller but Fractal is now the industry standard used by so many players. I am moving from my Quad Cortex to the new Fractal turbo floor unit.

PV Classic>4x10>ribbon mic = WIN!

All those tones were first class. Kiesel sounds fab as well.

The Kemper sounds good. The Artist amp is the goat of amps unfortunately hasn't made it's way into Canada yet.
Fantastic tones. 👋
Sounds great Shane ! Seems perfect for your needs .

Hi Shane, great Tones. possible to download/buy the Profiles ?
Sound fantastic!
Phewwe !!! Can't fault it Shane... phenomenal. ❤
Which headphones do you prefer with kemper?
I like how you are profiling some base amp tones from each of your amplifier. You have the basic building blocks to have all your amps in one. Do plan on adding more amps that you don’t own? Man, this Peavey sounds SO SWEET makes me want to check my blood sugar 🤩🤩😆😆

How are you powering it up - straight into desk or amp/speaker at a gig?
This is going directly into an audio interface via the XLR outputs.
A stupid question? Hey Shane, Is it possible and affordable to buy already profiled amps and tones for the Kemper? I don’t own any amps worth profiling and I’ve never used a profiling tool.

Yeah, sounds alright! \m/
Yeah. It sounds really good. No "but's" about it. Really good.
What kind of monitors are you using with your Kemper - how are you hearing it?
Adam Audio T7V it’s going via a focusrite interface.
Oh btw, I saw Dr. RIC on Sunday!
I'm just wondering. Why Kamper and not Tonex? Or even NAM for studio recording?
Longevity.
Hey! I've discovered that if I watch you through a mirror, the guitar looks normal :)
So if you record/sample/profile all your amps, would you part with your amp?

My buddy just bought a kemper player
I concur. Sounds great. Now I got to learn to spend less money on guitars and more on other gear like pedals. Lol
Kemper used to be the go to modeller but Fractal is now the industry standard used by so many players. I am moving from my Quad Cortex to the new Fractal turbo floor unit.
Crystal
It sounds basically the same
Please for the love of god, peel off that plastic :). Sounds really good. I've decided to sell my Kemper though.
