About Venture stalling with dig , it's consistent with Zen ult , Trans also contest objectives but can't push/capture objectives.
I'm pretty sure the same is also true for reaper's wraith form and Mei's cryofreeze. It seems like any character that can become invincible can contest objectives but can't capture them during the invincibility, which is probably for the best.
It is consistent with other invuln abilities, but the issue I have is that it is nearly a 6 second stall (same duration as zen ult) that only requires using abilities
It's 4 seconds, unless the in-game UI lies. Compare that to Reaper's 3 seconds and Mei's 5 seconds, it's not really a new thing.@@eagleyia2907

@@eagleyia2907 Mei's cryo lasts for 5 seconds plus she can stall from behind her wall. Burrow only lasts for 4 seconds plus the charge time if you charge right at the end. I really don't think venture's stall will be too much more annoying then what a character like mei can already pull off but maybe your right. I think we should wait and see.

Eh venture is a bit too slow to be dos doomfist. Maybe if they buff burrow a little bit and digreased the CD on the dash
If I had to guess, it's the stuns. While sharing similar playstyle, Venture has none, yet Doom had a lot, and they'd have to get rid of many which would suck imo
sure but their philosophy with OW2 was to reduce CC to tanky heroes and I think it would be weird to make Doomfists iconic punch an ult if they kept him in DPS role

@@spacejambluray2591 umm they are not stuns but displacements akin lucio boop. So while you have little control of your movement, you can still shoot, while when doom punches you into the wall you cannot do anything
the comment about it being odd to not be able to cap is interesting because that is the same for all invincibility (mei block, reaper wraith)
3:47 This is probably why I love this character so much. Wrecking Ball is my favorite tank because hes just so fun to slam into people. Venture is basically a DPS version of him.
I main Hammond and in my opinion junkrat is way more fun to play than venture
I think brig works well with venture too. Being healed by inspire while underground and no one can dive the backline

I miss playing Venture, their combos are so much fun to pull off.
I hope we get some significant balancing next patch to open up the meta more, I wanna see what I can do with more Tank arrangements than just Sigma and Orisa and even see how the Hammond rework plays around them.

Thing is, the ult has a cone like shape spreading outward. So it's a lot harder to use on closer enemies.
If that Moira had been jumping like that 10 feet away, she would get wrecked by the ult's width.

Oddly enough I noticed Rammatra does really well at stopping Venture.
Whenever they would try to burrow on my team I would ravenous as they came out and they just got deleted since they go nowhere after surfacing.

They might be as strong as Tracer, which is fine since the design for once is excellent! I'm so looking forward to playing them next week.
It’s really good at capture. You can pressure enemy with just your presense to lead them to back off
The issue with Venture vs Tracer is that Venture is doing at least as well as Tracer after a few weeks, when most Tracer players have thousands of hours experience, whilst Ventire also annihilates Tracer 1v1.
I think she's utterly broken, especially at Diamond and below where teams do not instantly react to them attacking the backline. They just give free value to weak players at diamond and below.
I believe you are likely overrating Venture as far as pwoer goes, but not by a ton. Super fun hero lookin forward to playin them
Had all the same critques I did on their kit. Fun hero, but feels underpowered compared to how the last few heroes were OP at release and then tweaked. But I think I'll play this one a lot.

coming from an old ow1 ball main (quit due to falling off with him) venture is right up my alley i totally "dig" their playstyle and movement definitly a new main for me (might even get my first golden weapon or rather drill with them)
Was shocked to hear you didn’t name Cassidy as a potential counter, since mag made locks Venture out of most of their kit? Maybe it’s just not as often of a threat as a sombra or hog?
i do think cass is a good counter yea, he can also target them in their dig, although this might be a bug. cass can also kind of roll out of ventures combo if hes quick enough.

No such thing as counter picking heros. All Heros are potential threats against each other.

Dude I’ve wanted a timer pause in dragon blade on deflect for so long. If Venture can get that in ult then I hope Genji can.
Now with the full release of Venture, the best use for the ult I've found is supporting the rest of your team in pushing or countering a big push. Flanking the enemy and disrupting the dps and supports of the enemy team on top of the fairly high damage per shot will either outright kill or melt the squishies enough for your teammates to finish them off easily. I'm by no means a high rank player so I can't tell how well Venture will do there, but in the low-mid ranks I've found decent Venture players getting 3 kills with the ult quite frequently. Overall pretty good character, but not so op they'll break the meta or anything.

Venture's ultimate is wild.
If you flank on a grouped up team, you can kill all of their squishies before they have time to react to the first impact.
It's not as good as some other ultimate in the game in 1v1s, or as a tank buster... but that burst potential against brawl is crazy if you pull off the flank.
Devs 100% hit the mark with this hero. They are absolutely going to be my second hero pick after Tracer

theres a 1-2s of gap when you come out of burrow where you have no drill if you use the dash, so thats gonna be really bad
Not really true because if you use dash while underground the cd is shorter and if you combine that with a fully charged jump you can dash again immediately when you come out of the ground
@@mr.stonestar363 if you wanna use drill underground, which if yoz dont you dont go anywhere, then its unavoidable, even if you max still with the burrow attack. you cant avoid it.

I love how they put all the shit everyone hates on other characters into a DPS and now it's a great hero.
- Lots of CC
- Hide and seek playstyle
- Generates HP through abilities (Doesn't even have to land them like Mauga, Doom or Reaper).
- AoE primary fire
- Jack of all trades: High mobility, high durability, high damage, good utility.
- Fairly simple one-shot combo
You can find one or two of these things on all the most hated heroes in the game and people will rage about how they're the worst designed heroes (Notably when it's a tank or support). But put literally all of it into a DPS and suddenly it's one of the best releases in the game? This isn't even to hate on Venture but it just shows how ridiculously hypocritical this community is.
You're cooked. Venture has the most glaring weakness in their lack of range, gigantic hurtbox, and being extremely suceptible to CC. Their sustain is not nearly as bad as Mauga's, the CC is obnoxious but infrequent (and also boops are not nearly as complained about as other forms of hard or soft cc, see Lucio). No one really complains about mobility except for Kiriko's, which is quite frankly somewhat ridiculous, as a Kiriko main myself.
Stop thinking everyone is out to get you. We all have problems w support hero kits because purely defensive abilities like suzu, immo, grip and pylon are awful to play into.
@@penrilfake I'm not sure how you read all that and still managed to miss the glaring "all these things combined" part. It's not that any of them alone are problematic (and how the hell do you compare the tank Mauga to DPS Venture regarding sustain?) but the fact that they are an incredibly strong hero in every category except range (And who cares when they have better mobility than Mei/Reaper?). Also, I have no skin in this. It's not "everyone's out to get me" (like I didn't design these heroes so I don't know where you got that from). It was an observation about how the community receives DPS heroes compared to other roles.
But yeah, keep cooking bro. You'll make a valid point eventually.

On the topic of being unable to cap or push objectives in Burrow: all invincibilities work like that iirc. Tranq, wraith, and ice block all can contest, but can cap objectives

I feel like they should make it so you can quick melee while the ult is active. This would allow you to combo someone you knock up with the ult with drill dash and a quick melee which would lead to a kill

I was surprised how enjoyable Venture is to play and fairly ez to pick up, I usually don't play heros that can't crit but their combos make up for it in a satisfying way.
Ult is quite good in chokes but might need some touch ups to shine, like the ability to fire the wave from an elevated position.

As a Sombra main, she is a great counter to Venture. As it happens against Bastion, I will empty a full clip into your body without missing a bullet, with the occasional headshot. Her hitbox is big and juicy for Sombra's gun

For the ultimate, I think one of the biggest issues is that even though you can two shot people, most smart players play around cover, so even if you land one ult charge, you'll never get the second one off if the enemies have any mobility. I think having the ultimate apply a 1.5 second hinder/slow (just long enough for you to land a follow-up hit) the ult would be more useful for offensive kills and on defense as a zoning tool. The damage can be reduced to compensate, as that seems to be the biggest issue for lower-ranked players.

the only thing i would like to see is more tech. old doom was my fav coz of all the wacky interactions with the physics engine that were actually usefull in the game. animation cancel is neat but doesnt really satisfy the itch of using rocket punch to launch yourself into the stratosphere to get the 125 slam. player her felt to me like everything that happened was kinda "intended" but mb that will come with people getting to play her more

She shouldn’t be immune while underground or it should be lowered to 3 second. Cause the charge up on the way up gives like an extra 2 seconds. I’m all for slight Ult buff and Burrow nerf
Reaper can also become immune, but his is instant

@@shhhmeagol damage reduction of her charge up? The damage isn’t really the problem. Like I said even if they lowered her time underground it would make up for the charge up. It’s just that the immunity of being underground and still charging up gives way too much time were you have to track her and then still be mindful of her teammates shooting at you. It’s basically a lose lose and you have to either get shot, take charge damage, or just give up your positioning entirely
