- Southern Baptists narrowly rejected a ban on women pastors Wednesday. About 61% of the delegates voted for the ban, which is less than the required two-thirds supermajority needed to pass the proposal. CBS News' Lilia Luciano reports.

Growing up people use to walk as groups or just families to Church. But over the decades I don’t see that anymore. The Church doors are not what the younger generation don’t feel comfortable or welcome because so much political, greed and gossipers.
I vaguely remember but , I was a sixtys child , they gave out sandwiches fruit , food baskets on Tuesday and Thursday or Saturday

It’s also why the Bible says woman came from the rib of the man and pregnancy was created as a punishment for eve and women. Women/girls need to accept that especially those that are religious. That is, "No religion, except for Christianity." The Bible teaches an incredibly high view of women. In marriage, you see it most clearly in Ephesians 5:25 (which was written by the Apostle Paul), in the gospel accounts of the life of Christ it's everywhere, in the Old Testament's Proverbs it's all over the place. In Genesis 2:18 we read that the man is insufficient in himself, and is in need of a helper, and so God creates a woman to be the only one who can be suited for that role. It's just all over Scripture. Women are held in amazingly high esteem in Scripture. So are men, and so are children. God does not esteem either of them over the other anywhere in Scripture. Just because He creates men and women with certain unique roles and responsibilities in their families and churches, each having their own freedoms and restrictions, doesn't mean that He doesn't see them as equal in value. He most certainly does. For anyone to say that Christianity is an anti-woman religion clearly doesn't understand what the Bible teaches on the matter at all.

Don't do that to yourself, the Lord loves you and doesn't want to see you be thrown into hell. That soul(consciousness) inside of you is a piece of the holy spirit, make sure it returns to Heaven, not disposed in the flaming garbage incinerator. Our complete time on earth is a blink compared to the eternity we have waiting for us, that Jesus prepared for us. That's literally the purpose of life, why we were placed here, to see which ones are worthy of eternal salvation by accepting the Lord and receiving Heaven, and those that deny him and will be denied BY him on judgement day. Just think about it, please. This world isn't the end, it's the beginning. Your soul is too important to not care about where you spend eternity. I pray that the seed in you grows and brings you back to Jesus. Even if it feels like the entire world is against you, remember that Jesus has and always will love you, that soul inside of you was a gift from him, use it wisely. Suddenly the media is concerned with church politics when it aligns with their own. I wonder how many of the media are associated with the Southern Baptist church and whether it really affects them? Different denominations will hold different views according to their customs and beliefs. There is not only one word of God, that would be impossible as our Holy Father speaks to us all day, everyday. The Temple of God is within us.
I’m not SB anymore but that’s one thing they do right! They do obey the Bible on this matter! People try to justify themselves when they want to do something, just like they do on divorce and remarriage! Yet Jesus made it very clear but they don’t like His answer so they keep looking for scripture to justify themselves. But one day we will all stand before Him!
This conflict is because one group is drilling down on a single verse in Timothy while ignoring all the times in the Bible where God used women in leadership. Five women are named as prophets in the Old Testament. People who God spoke through. Same in the New Testament. Anna specifically, but Paul talked about women who were out preaching the gospel. Even in Timothy, he tells Timothy that it was his mother and grandmother, Lois and Eunice her were his spiritual mentors. They’re straining at a gnat.

Maybe what is needed is a bible literacy test and a need to pass to vote.

Someone explain to me how they can actually enforce this if it did pass , most of the SBC is small town churches that depend on women especially for their children and youth ministries (the biggest ministries in the church there probably is right). I can't see this actually being followed by any church with less than a couple hundred active members.
DOESNT MATTER how many members they have, ALL the members and the church staff should OBEY THE WORD of GOD, no women pastors over men, they can pastor other women and kids, but not men.

The scripture against women teachers or leaders was Paul's personal ban, not God's. The Paulist and Petrine scriptures about women were about wives. A concordance revealed the original words. Nevertheless, bishops are exclusively husbands and fathers. The Adamic curse remains.
It is not biblical. Read 1Corinthains chapter 11:3. Read 1Corinthains chapter 14:34,35. Read Ephesians chapter 5:21-24. Read 1Timothy chapter 2:11-15. Read 1Timothy chapter 3:1,2.

I'm a Christian, and they don't speak for me. I believe that God calls women to be pastors. My pastor is a wonderful woman of God, and God uses her in a mighty way.

@@Heyyoulady Starting with the King James version, the Bible is a translation of Latin, which was a translation of Greek which was a translation of Aramaic, the language Jesus spoke. As soon as someone translated from the original text, which no one has, you changed more than 1 JOT or 1 TIDDLE. Don't tell me what the Bible says about women. That was Paul's message to the church, NOT A DIRECTIVE from God.

You need to expand your Bible reading. God selected Miriam, Deborah, Miriam, Huldah, and Noadiah as prophets. Deborah as both judge and prophet. The in the New Testament, Anna. But Paul mentions other women though not by name. Also, Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong were venerated by SBs for years and years as great missionary leaders. This is addressed to the people/person who takes down the messages they don't like: IGNORANCE IS BLISS and it is massively important to protect the ignorance of the flock, but it can be a full time job. I understand that the truth of what the holy scriptures ACTUALLY say is no where near as important as maintaining the shared delusion. The problem is that "truth will out" and that's why organized religions with their willful ignorance and blatant hypocrisy are dying out.

While its clear that God forbids women shepherds and pastors .. I will say I would rather an elder woman teach me *honestly , than have an undercover "🏳️🌈" ecumenical man leading me!

Wisdom is referred to in the feminine in the Book of Proverbs. "She teaches" "She calls out" "She raises her voice" "Listen to her" "Heed her warning" " She will lead you on the path of righteousness and truth" "The wise follow her". Wisdom speaks. ♾
Folly/foolishness is also referred to in the feminine.

NO MAN is supposed to be called Pastor, we have ONE PASTOR who is JESUS. Matthew 23:8 But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Paul False apostle Rev 2:2 tested and found false. Plus Paul was demon possessed 2 cor 12:7 for a messenger of Satan is just that a DEMON.

This is antithetical to the Bible. Woman should remain quiet in the church it says. People need to read God's Word, not rely on their "feelings".

There is not only one word of God, that would be impossible as our Holy Father speaks to us all day, everyday. The Temple of God is within us.

I Timothy 3:2 gives the qualifications of a bishop (aka) a pastor, and one the qualifications is that the bishop must be the husband of one wife. There are a lot of things in the Bible you may not like, but like a lot of people, the Southern Baptist Convention is ignoring those to give the people what they want. We should read and apply God’s Word to our lives, so we can please Him, not change and ignore God’s Word to please ourselves.

It's funny how people preach about Jesus but don't preach the same message that Jesus preached - the Kingdom of Heaven has returned to Earth. Jesus plainly explained his mission for being on Earth in Luke 4:41 And lastly set the priority of all of mankind in Matthew 6:33. The Kingdom of God is a Government ruled by our Father Yahweh - the King of Glory. Democracy is not found anywhere in the Bible because it's based on Paganism. Just like any other religion created by man. According to our Lord Jesus, Pagans pursuit their own provision every day through the practice of religion and set their own rules contrary to the rules set by the Kingdom of God
