    Great video! First time viewer here.
    I been doing this with my hair for about year now. I don't overly manipulate hair nor add heat (unless I see a beautician)! I allow my hair to stay in protective styling for at least month or month and half before doing another wash day or going to the beauty shop now. The most I will do while waiting is moisturizing and seal and oil my scalp. My beautician sees the difference in my hair and my scalp and she's been loving it the progression.

I'll wash, condition and moisturize after two weeks with the twists still in and then I'll retwist right after. And then I'll take it all down at the end of the month and have a proper wash day. If my hair feels dry during the month I'll moisturize with my DIY hair spritz (with water+ leave-in-condtioner + coconut + castor oil). I'm hoping for great results!

      Wow! How do you keep your scalp clean

    • @julyjones5500
      @julyjones5500 3 года назад +4

      @@solarlola5953 I use a ACV and water delusion. Take a small towel and dip a corner into the solution. Then I pressed the rise into my scalp and do tiny rubbing/circular motions. Probably takes me a good 20-30 mins.
      When I wash my scalp and or hair I make a homemade shampoo using soap berries, a little ACV, and vegetable glycerin. I use my blender to froth it up, place into an applicator bottle and concentrate on just my scalp. And I rise out the solution using a different applicator bottle filled with water. I keep my hair in a lose bun the whole time. ^^That's when I'm just washing my scalp.
      Keep in mind I do not use any products that leave a hard cast. No grease, no store bought gels (I use a d.i.y. flaxseed gel), I don't even use oil on my hair or scalp. All I use is a D.I.Y gel (sometimes), but mostly water and glycerin mixture, and store bought butters/creams. So I almost never get build up.
      Also I am extremely high porosity, 4c.

      @Faffy lubricate your hair with conditioner and oil, finger detangle each plait gently, take your time with this, carefully seperate the tangles until everythings detangled and you can run your hands through it. for your scalp, water loosens sebum so maybe spray some warm water on your scalp only, and then massage your scalp too loosen the build up. (a shampoo brush will help for in the shower as well as this process) ,keep your detangled hair twisted like the girl in this video, step into the shower, get yourself a bottle with a nozzle, fill it up with 2 parts shampoo 1 part water so that the shampoo will easily go over your scalp. first, rinse your twists, let the oil and conditioner glide out, then start shampooing your scalp!! do this 2 or 3 times until it feels clean all around, massage it with your finger tips. then you can shampoo your individual twists , one by one, concentrate on the parts where the most buildup is first, then go for a second round to lather and rinse all the dirt out. if the water is clear with suds, your strands are clean. then go in with a thick conditioner with slip (can be a deep conditioner at this point), coat your hair and finger detangle, you can carefully brush at this point from ends to root too, when you reach your scalp, stop and twist it back up. complete your hair and let the conditioner soak for a while. then rinse out and lightly dry your hair until damp, pin it up, wash the residue of your body.
      once out of the shower, proceed with your regular routine, you can keep the twists or braid it up at this point. hope this helped !!
