Both randoms are really instruments for the future. I love that I don’t know what’s going on under the hood. They sound amazing and they are conceptually genius. Also love the eq loud/quiet addition in the new metal.
I love this plugin. Feature request - Can you add multi audio outputs. This way I can add to an Ableton drum rack and and have control of the individual outputs
I dug the initial Random but this def takes it to another level. Love the expanded algorithms and details about them and the ability to fine tune the sounds more ❤
@@julzsadventuresinmusic7492 and they did it and added another request, having some random settings fixed and not to be included in the random ... next day it was included
@@Italliving yeah very cool. I have been eyeing random for a while so when i saw the holiday bundle with both Random and Random Metal i couldnt help myself. Been loads of fun controlling, sequencing and automating multiple intances with my groovebox. Gotta say it has to be super optimized because i can run 4 instances at once on my borderline ancient laptop with no problem
Hello Matt, not possible because it's synthesis ( very complex ones ) not a sample player. That's why the sound play great on many octave and why it's fluid when morphing thru the XY and altering thru the randomisation. Dragging from the interface to the daw could be interesting, as a way to quickly resample the last produced sound.
I can't say that I'm too impressed with the sounds I'm hearing (which are few, since this video is mostly talking, and the other videos posted of this plugin use it mainly for low kick-type sounds). I'd love a great-sounding "banging on metal objects from the garage" physical modelling plugin, to map to my e-drum kit and do the Tom Waits junkyard percussion thing, but I can't tell if this is it. I had a small synth back in the OS-9 days that was a physical model of a metal plate. I believe it was a simple K-S type model with a mesh of delay lines. It sounded great, and responded naturally when you "hit the plate" at different spots. I wish I still had that.... BEATSURFING, please post a video showing all the different kinds of sounds this plugin can do so we can better evaluate it!
That's a good idea and we will do that. So far, any new videos we have created, we used RANDOM Metal on the drum sounds. Felid also created a downloadable loop project. This ableton project file allows you to explore exactly how he creates with RANDOM Metal. Last, if you check our social accounts there are lots of examples using only Metal for the drum sounds.
I can’t say I’m too impressive? What? Just say, “I’m not impressed with the sounds.” When you say “I’m not too impressed “we can’t rule out that you might be quite impressed just not overly impressed.
Yeah these Beatsurfing Random and Random Metal look awesome, crazy sounds ! I want to get them since the launching, but too expensive for me...even on sale (69€ the bundle, pretty good priced, but too much for me...) I'll wait and see for an eventual mega huge discount aha... :)
If you want to use several different matters without sampling/exporting then yep. But we can add several instances of plugins to a drum rack in Ableton 🙌

Amazingly cool :) I also like how you added the ability to scale UI larger ... PLEASE do this to your other teeny-tiny plugins.
So glad you made this video as I bought it and had no idea how to use it.
Excellent, just what I needed

Bought it and immediately used it in a track. Very nice 👍
Now they should add the drag to export button like they did in the Random update, that would be perfect !!

Love the sound design exploration here! Can we export/drag our own percussive hits to the interface?

Just resample/record

let's goooo
Is there any type of sequencer or parameter lock
Sounds like some sounds have effects (reverb). Sounds good for a demo but can we get them dry so we can bring our own effects?
You got two dry wet knobs.
One for the loud part, one for the quiet parts. The fx are highly dynamic, they are affected by many envelopes and params.
Is there a big difference sonically compared to OG Random?
Yep, big difference. Even though it does have more tonal elements I see this one mainly as percussion, and OG RANDOM more as bass/melodic generation.
@@felidmusic thank you for the info!

@@mygoogle1525I believe so!
Can you midi map 'random' button?
yes, it's exposed as an automatable parameter.

Cool visuals but what can this be used for other than to sound like someone is banging on metal trash cans?
There’s a ton of different tones and textures in there, other than banging on metal cans 🙌
