    Great video. Obviously the majority of your vids will be pure gameplay, but these kind of vids occasionally would be really cool of some kind of MM2 history/knowledge/trivia that most people probably wouldn't know about

    I have a level I made in Levelhead that no one cleared because they patched out hovering through punchers with the ripcord's propeller. It was necessary to progress. I didn't expect it to be patched out, and I used it multiple times in multiple levels but only one is now unbeatable

      We hope! Many have been deleted for other patched glitches, but these have not been, yet, despite dozens of reports

    It's kinda similar to when the fire flower shot out of slightly different places depending on what character you were playing as, but that one was more well known.

      Yes! Those were such a weird thing. And weird that Nintendo patched it globally. I wonder what makes them decide on patching globally or only on certain versions

    I thought it was going to be the fireball thing. and I'm fairly sure with a perfect ball throw and a perfectly timed jump you should be able to beat that second level.

      Yes in his last atempt he jumped way too early, he almost landed back before the p-swich ran out

      That's the reason that it's up to around 12k attempts ( last I checked a few weeks back). It looks so beatable but it really isn't. We deemed it impossible when it was around 2k attempts but people keep throwing lives at it because it looks like it should be doable.

    Unfortunate how we can only remove the levels from existence, not only taking down history of SMM2, but also taking down levels that weren’t meant to be impossible that were made by innocent players.

      yeah that's the crazy thing, these creators 100% didn't intend on making the levels impossible, or even that difficult. The 2nd level looked like it could be in Normal, maybe even Easy, if it didn't have the patch

    What's funny about these is that ceave made a video saying this shouldn't happen in smm2 because when they get uploaded the level gets locked into the version it was uploaded in. Maybe they didn't think the superball/ p switch interaction was that big of a deal because it seems like that doesn't apply.

      I think it's a bug where they just forgot to code in the version check for that specific thing. Same with the fireball.

      Yeah Nintendo doesn't seem to realize that global patches are ALWAYS bad and have unintended consequences. Their patches should never apply to previously uploaded levels

      @@DannyBPlays Global patches are fine but as Sylocat said I dont think it was at all intended. Nintendo already knows the issues global patching could cause.
      Something like requiring levels to be re-uploaded after a global patch would be a nice solution to prevent these issues while still allowing them to fix issues in the game and work far better than trying to only make patches apply to new levels.

    Incidentally, you can factory reset your Switch and use the physical version of SMM2 offline to recreate these in 1.0, then upload them in the current version. This can make for impossible troll levels

      How would you upload them without connecting to the game online after your factory reset when the switch wont let you connect to the game online without updating the game first? 🤔 I know it can be done with hacked switches, but your idea just wouldn't work.

      Even if you tried uploading the level as previously created after updating, it would still use the globally effected patch thus making your clear attempts impossible

      @@Syranovæ no, you do the clear check when not on the internet. the game then saves the fact that you passed the clear check. you then update your version, and can upload the level that's already clear checked.
      Nintendo can 100% fix this.
      They should make it so updating your version invalidates the clear check and force you to run the clear check in the current version before you upload it.
      Sadly, this will stop people from using icicle global ground, which was awesome, but removing the ability to upload legit 100% impossibel levels and true dev only dev exits overall benefits the community.

      I would try it but I'm not buying a switch to beat the lvl ....1 of the really good players will beat the 2cd lvl with a doubt its not impossible dave got close without perfect timing....

    Probably should be reported only for the fact that it will kill super expert runs. Correct me if I'm wrong but these would show up due to the % right?

      Endless has a skip option. No-skip Super Expert runs are a personal challenge and not endorsed by Nintendo or covered by it's terms of service. They absolutely will NOT remove a level just because "it might end your super expert challenge you inflicted UPON YOURSELF".. 😂

    I really enjoyed this type of content and feel like there's not enough of it in Mario Maker. I think it would be great to also show off some of the glitches and how people implement them in their levels, stuff like broken tracks and such.

    I think the second might be possible but really tight and precise... If you shot as you jumped and just didn't stop, then kept going, it might be possible... You were really close before the 2 player experiment and there was some wiggle room there

      I attempted it by having my index finger on Y to run while having my thumb on B to pick up the flower then around then did the exact same trick he did with it bouncing longer only this time lightly tapping jump to pass the gap and was a few spaces away from the goal after perfectly jumping as the P switch ran out

    The first one looks like it’s called “pinpoint shooter”

      Theres also door lag entry glitch that is globally patched as well but Nintendo actually removes that glitch and the character fire flower height difference levels really quickly if reported. the sideways pswitch hasn't been removed since team 0% reported it a year ago

      @@blueflotsam1696 I'm pretty sure the door lag glitch still works in older levels. At least most of the effects anyway. There's also the fact that sideways Thwomps used to slide up slopes, and now they just disappear in old levels that used that behavior, so if that Thwomp was needed to progress then it's now impossible.

I remember messing with it before the patch and got the "play after goal" version to work by just putting the fire flower on the door, both on the end of a conveyor with a wall next to them, so I don't know why people have this elaborate setup that drops it onto Mario as he gets to the door?

Team 0% has stumbled across a few other impossible levels (fe. due to a global fireball shot height patch), but all of them were deleted by Nintendo shortly after being reported.

      They are uncleared. Everyone who has reported these levels has never beaten them.
      Likely what's happening is Nintendo is using an algorithm rhar doesn't weigh reports for uncleared levels as heavily as reports from cleared ones.

    That second level almost feels beatable if you can fire the attack mid jump onto the platform and jump off the blocks before the p switch is hit it might give just enough time to pull it off.

    I love the amount of people who still think the second level is possible even though replies to the top comment say it’s been TAS’d with no success. I do get it though, like everyone, it looks like it should be possible. I think it’s sort of cool that the level creator inadvertently created the greatest time suck troll of all time.

    This is why global patching is bad.
    This allows clever players with earlier versions to make dev exits that are literally impossible to use for the other players.

    In the end, a truly impossible level really defeats the purpose of clearing. Even though neither the level Maker nor Nintendo did this intentionally, these *should* be removed. Because a impossible level can't be uploaded.

    Second level showcased could theoretically be beaten. I counted 5 loops on the pswitch, starting with the first note. Count the end of each loop in the music and jump before the last note before getting to 5. You should be able to just barely make the jump. I don't have mario maker so I can't test this theory.

    5:00: This bit of text was a fail. It flashes for a few frames, then disappears, forcing you to pause in order to read it.
    The superbal haa to bounce on the side of the
    P-switch to get up there. People have tried
    shooting from all different spots/angles.
    In old versions, this did not activate the
    P-switch, but in new versions it is
    retroactively/"globally" patched
    to activate.

    That second level COULD be beaten, pretty sure if you run and get lucky with the ball hit on the p-switch and get a last possible frame jump before the p-switch expires, you would make it to the flag.

    I don't think that second level is truly impossible - especially if you can get the superball to bounce around a little before it reaches the P-Switch....

      If theres an angle that delays the pswitch trigger it hasn't been found yet but would likely make it possible. All the testing over at the team 0% side of things makes it seem like the superball has a very few trajectories so there isn't one that allows more time. feel free to try it out tho and report the levels after you give up!

    Not gonna lie, the second one look like it is super close to being possible. Dave almost got a jump off of the last brick block, which makes me think that, with good positioning and execution, it could just barely be possible.

    I would say, as much as I kinda hate it, that these levels should be reported. The problem is that, however small, there is a chance one could come up during no skip runs and things like that, only for the level to be impossible.
    The fact that because nintendo patched them makes them actively harmful to the community sucks, but it may just he a necessary evil

      Nothing to hate about it. The report systems is specifically there for things like this, glitches (heres looking at you, broken tracks), bugs, etc. I report half the levels Dave plays 😂 Not because of Dave of course, just because my gamedev attitude says that I'd want these things reported in MY game, why wouldnt I report them for someone else's game? I'm alot quicker to report a broken track than crap like this though.

    I haven't played Super Mario Maker 2 in a while but last time I checked, after a certain glitch was patched out of the game that teleported you to the bottom of the level after entering a door and getting a power up at the same time, two of my levels that used that glitch and were uploaded became impossible. I don't know if they are still up. Another level I uploaded using a different glitch got deleted however, even though it was possible to do without the glitch due to cheese.

      We have found this glitch many times among our Uncleared lists, and we have reported it and Nintendo is quick to delete. If people cleared them before the patch, they might still exist then.

    The problem seems to be that on the long run p-switch level, if waited til the last minute to jump (the edge- seemed to have the time), you would have completed it. The time you almost completed it, you jumped too early but there was still time before the bricks reverted
