A great example of miscasting. Chris M should've been doing color, his style just wasn't suited as anchor - he is visibly awkward, while Brian Williams was just WAY overqualified as exit-poll-analyst - he should've been doing Chris's anchor job. And Keith Olbermann?!?! Ack! Joe Scarborough was his post-congressional self and overly-wordy and mainly telling about himself, fine for Morning Joe but more a square-peg-round-hole contributor in this setting. Overall this comes off looking like an early MSNBC foray in to national election coverage: quite rough and very much running on 7-cylinders in '04, particularly when you compare with CNN (for example). Of course this was all pre Rachel, and they got it pretty-much right last go-round. Fun to watch in any case.
@@ashleycowan7733 I agree that it had to be a graphics error. That would have been quite something if Nader was actually competitive in Louisiana. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kerry did have a brief lead in Louisiana if most of the returns where from Orleans parish or at least a Democratic precinct anywhere else.
@@KH-lw5ze Not totally. At the time of this election New York's governor was a Republican, George Pataki. And don't give me the "but he was a moderate Republican" excuse. A moderate Republican is still a Republican. Many other states in this election also had governors of the opposite party from whom they usually support for president. And while NYC is very blue most of the time, Upstate New York is more conservative and leans Republican.

Early indications in this election year that Virginia might be competitive and not a safe call right away for the GOP and it already happened 4 years hence.

Chris Matthews anchored their midterm election coverage in 2002 as well.
2:14:39 ooh that’s embarrassing for msnbc..🤣
Astounding vitctory by Nader!
North Carolina called just after 8PM
Just like in 2000 (at least on CNN.)
2:14:39 Did Ralph Nader have a brief lead in the returns from Louisiana, it was that a graphics errror and John Kerry had a brief lead?
Had to be a graphics error... 77% in and only 17,000 votes per candidate? It’s a funny slip up though.

Everyone right behind the anchors is waving a Kerry sign, but none have Bush signs. Hmm, I wonder which side those guys at the desk were on anyway?
New York is a blue state.

I saw a few Bush signs, but they were at the opposite side of the desk, you can see them during wide shots

@1:00
From the first minute, this broadcast already got it wrong. The turnout was 120+ million, it was up more than 5pts from the 2000 election.
I realize Im kinda off topic but do anyone know a good website to watch new movies online?

A great night, Bush's reelection was.
15 years ago I would have strongly disagreed with you, I hated him so much back then. I think in the long run history will be kind to him.
Stefan compared to Trump, yes.
Jason Arokiaraj we thought a bush second term was terrible. Think of what a trump second term would do.
