I think Streibough genuinely wanted to help Oersted at this point in the story. Things only changed when he looked at the Demon King statue… which may have contained some of his lingering influence.
Could be. We'll never know for sure due to how ambiguous the story left that plot point to be. But it does bring out so many fan theories that it doesn't bother me. Was Oersted the competitive monster Streibough made him out to be? Was Streibough corrupted? I think the problems started to arise when the King made his daughter the prize. The loading screen says that tournament is held regularly, so neither Oersted or Streibough knew beforehand to talk it over.
I think he had some jealous rage with Oersted after the tournament. Though one theory I had is that he did want to help, but the influence played off his jealousy. Another is that Streibough wanted to upstage Oersted in the final battle and impress the princess before he planned his betrayal.
@@Sephiroth08150 from what I get, and I see this as canon, Straybow has been jealous of Oersted, but not in a corruptive way, rather in a motivational one. And it's been implied that after killing the last Demon King that his shadow was basically cast upon Straybow corrupting his jealousy into what had happened in the end, only for Oersted to suddenly become the next Demon King afterwards. If Oersted didn't stop Straybow, one would have wondered if Straybow also had transformed in that sense.
Hmm, my understanding of the story was that there was never any Lord of Dark in the first place - Uranus and Hasshe truly did destroy him long ago, and he did not spontaneously return (until the very end of the chapter after all is lost). Which means that Streibough was the one who kidnapped Alethea to begin with. So by this point, Streibough's plan was already well underway.
Awakening had the Orested twist with Robin and Grima, though the difference between them is that Orested chose to be the Dark Lord, while Robin was in reality just Grima with Amnesia. I'd say it would make one of the best written lords in the series if they chose to become the final boss.
The BBQ happened with that game's Camus, Arvis ( the second half of the game makes him into a Camus, and for most of the game, he was well meaning). Plus, sans the Loptyr plotline, the story fits with Irish Folklore, so the idea was to make everyone somewhat morally Grey. I don't mean things like doing bad things for good reasons, more doing things for entirely self-centered reasons for your people, even if you might be screwing over a different population.
This genuinely sounds like something you would hear in a FE game during a low point of the story I'm still baffled at how well the soundfont of the Fire Emblem games on GBA matches with the tracks in Oersted's chapter, nicely done

Streighbough was always jealous of Oersted, and the statue of Odio pushed him over the edge.
You know the idea of this kind of twist in a proper FE game would be pretty fun
Genealogy of the Holy War
@@villomaru eh it's not exactly that is it

Sigurd BBQ Party has the same kind of vibe to it.

A lovely yet tragic rendition. Alone,Victorious thus end Oersted’s tale or with Oersted fallen the Cycle continues.
loving all the gbaFE/live a live stuff, and thanks for making the portraits available.
Reject simping, return to knighthood
This is so so good!

Unseen Syndrome - Live A Live (Super Metroid Style)
😉
Streibough, you dastard !
Streibough for me is the most evil and biggest villain in the game.
Streibough is arguably one of the biggest douchebags I've seen in gaming
Parabens, ficou muito bom!
Man, I'd learn ROM hacking Sacred Stones for that if I didn't have projects already.
Esta demasiado bueno!!!
Support level increased....?
but at what cost?
Support rank decreased
i would love to hear your version of the main theme of live a live and megalomania
Ooh is this like fates where if someone doesn't have support levels, they're definitely gonna be a twist villain?
Please keep up the great remix
This is a great GBA FE styled remix! Can we get one for Odio's theme as well?
What style would fit "Fugue for the Lord of Dark" that is the question?
I would want to hear a Live Over Again remix in fe gba so bad
