I’m sorry but a T-Rex that says “Sega” is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen from the 90’s and you should have just shown that first and declared it the winner.
I'm legitimately angry that you guys don't have more subscribers. All I watch is gaming nostalgia and review type videos. You guys are up there with AVGN, LGR, Guru Larry, all the best. Never stop!
Exactly! Does every scene in the movie have heart-pounding, ear-shredding, full-on musical scores? No! The majority of it is ambient...something to add to the experience, not overpower it. In some games, like, say Sonic/Mario, yea...i want awesome, loud music...but while sneaking around Jurassic Park trying not get my head bitten off by a T-Rex, Sega's music is perfect here.
I loved jerrasic park on the snes as a kid I've put so many hours into it and actually beat it one. If anyone here gotten stuck in the 3d rooms you know what real frustration is.
Chin up, Greg. We love you and appreciate what you are doing. Sometimes I need you to keep my 40 year old ass sane. Love Console Wars and I wish you all the best. Get all the help you can get and need. Take good care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you again!
It's weird how Jurassic Park on SN plays like Jurassic Park 2 on Genesis and JP2 on SN plays like JP1 Genesis. The second JP of each system is the best.
yea its true the genesis version is better, but one big plus for the megadrive is the music i play this game for the amazing soundtrack, trust me put some big sub woofer, this is one of the best 16 bit soundtrack that exist!!!!
The Genesis version used digitized imagery from the movie (i.e. the dinosaurs, for example), and this added to the game’s realism. As far as I’m concerned, the Genesis version is the more faithful adaption.
Last year, I gained a new interest in the "Jurassic Park" franchise thanks to "Shinobi 03". I'm currently reading the original book by Michael Crichton, really good book so far. I even played the "Lego Jurassic World" video game. Awesome work on this episode.
I think It should be better to compare Jurassic Park 2 for Snes with the genesis games, since it's a side-scrolling platform game like the genesis games.
+Derfel Cadarn Creativity doesn't make a game better. Sure, the Genesis version is a side scroller. A decent side scroller is better than a creative failure. The fps sections in the SNES game are awful, and top down action wasn't creative or new.
I agree that it doesn't make all that much sense comparing these games. I prefer this version of the JP SNES games for variety and gameplay. There are any number of these sort of cinematic, stop-motion platformers, and much better ones at that. Yeah, no thanks. Definitely have to give it the JP SNES game here, as in it's something I might actually like to play now and then.
I have both versions. They are both great in there own way. While the SNES plays like an adventure game, collecting Dinosaur eggs, key cards to excess certain levels of the game while at the same time picking up a weapon arsenal such as BOLAS, Shot Gun's, Rocket Launchers, Grenades and your standard Taser or Cattle-prod. It plays in a Bird's Eye view for most of the part, until you enter the compound and there it switches to first-person view, which can be a little awkward for 16-bit game since it wasn't really designed that kind of game play but it was revolutionary at the time. The music has a atmospheric type of sound, hence why the music cuts off whenever you enter a different area of the game. It's just like Super Metriod whenever you enter a new area the music changes. Also it was mastered in Dolby Digital Surround Sound, how cool is that??!! My biggest complaint for it is a lack of a save feature. The game is long and can probably take up to two-three hours depending if you know where to go and what to do, but if not, the game would have to be completed in one sitting and you would be stuck for hours wondering around, figuring out what to do. I did read up that they had plan to install a battery back up feature to save your progress, but it was too expensive for them to do it, so they released the game as is. The Sega version plays more on survival tactics. All your weapons you get in the game are mainly tranquilizers and gas grenades. You can't kill the Dinosaurs in this game like you could in the SNES. You can only put them to sleep for a short while. The controls are somewhat delayed, especially in areas where jumping is crucial. Sometimes when you are running and you want to jump, nothing happens and you fall and die. Speaking of Falling, that is probably the most frustrating part of the game. If you fall too high you either take damage or fall off the screen. I think the developers were probably going for realism. Most part of the game is done in Trial and error and believe me if you are playing it for the first time, you are going to be making a lot of errors. One major complaint that I had for this game was in certain levels, the game has lag, making it a little frustrating when you are climbing ladders, jumping on platforms and hand to hand monkey bar climbing. Despite some cons, both version have their charm.
Sega version had that awsome debug fuck around cheat where you could place objects and go to any stage. My favorite was when you did Grant vs. Grant at the end of the Raptor campaign, the game crashes when you get hit by any of his abilities.
That was a another sweet episode I somehow missed and I’m glad I did this cheered me up big time when you’re almost 40 and gotta pay bills and crap this is a great escape to the good ol days when games and movies were seemingly always awesome. Hope you guys and greg are good keep up the great work Dan and Nintendo
The snes game was so freakin' hard to beat. Sooo long, running back and forth getting different items from different areas without a single save.. I got close to the end so many times as a kid but it just seemed to go on and on.
Best sound Nintendo? That has to be a joke, right!? The Sega Genesis Jurassic Park sounds so much better with that awesome bass. It's not even close. Haha!! The entire Genesis game crushes the SNES version easily.
2:07 Greg: "Nintendo's graphics are so good, you might ever say they're "DINO"Mite!" Raptor: Ahahahaha! Nice!...What? I like the part where he said "dino". Dan: "Yeah, but it's a bit lame, isn't it?" Raptor: AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH (BITE!!) DAN: "OOOWWWW!!!" Me: LMAO!!!! 9:25 "Sega, eat his young so that your bloodline may flourish!" As usual, the ending was hilarious. As for these games, though, they both look pretty bad, so I think I'll pass on them. Great Job on the video, guys!
I really dont know what is worse.... Him taking him to the hospital tomorrow!!?? or him having the bed to himself because of it???!!!??? LMAO LOL love this channel
I always loved the SNES version of Jurassic Park. The music was always great, and while I did get lost quite a bit I still enjoyed it. I never beat it as a kid. But with an emulator I managed to get through it with save states. To be fair it reminded me of a survival horror game...which is probably why I had the patience to sit through it. Whenever I tried the Genesis version I played like 1 or 2 levels and stopped. Never was a fan... lol
The thing i really like about your videos is that they are entertaining and pack a great view of both games , leaving fanboyism and hyper-marketing aside. Few videos of this nature have that;and yes people will get butt-hurt and bitch about your choices, usually because they want you to confirm their view of the games and not to contest. Keep it this way.
Jurassic Park on the SNES had the potential to be a great game but blew it on many levels. Remember playing it back in the day...and the lack of password was extremely annoying...... Never played the genesis version although I was a huge Sega Fan..
You can redeem the SNES version by using a device like the Naki Game Saver or by emulating. Ocean knew they what they were doing by cheaping out, a battery backup is a must.
I think we also have to get credit to Sega because the difficulty on the Genesis version is more difficult than the SNES version, not just because of the few control problems it has, but because the game itself is challenging. And any hardcore gamer like myself enjoys a good challenge :D
it may be an easy win but playing the game is the difficult part once you lose all three lives it's automatic game over no continuing after all that dying you would appreciate Super Nintendo game
and then you have to start all over on the hardest level still dying over and over Super Nintendo actually gives you a chance to win it doesn't just kill you automatically after 3 lives
I don't remember that but it didn't matter because the passwords were short. I don't think the controls were bad either. The raptor was just different and took some getting used to.
So they don't use the Jurassic Park music in the middle of the video due to copyright only to a different copyrighted theme from another film by the same composer at the end? Logic?
Unfortunately, the Jaws music copyright lasts until 95 years after the publication date. And the Jurassic Park theme (since it was released after 1977) is copyrighted until 70 years after the creator's death. And John Williams is still alive. So just hold out a hundred years, and you're golden, ha ha.
+Jordan Williams the difference is that they murdered the Jaws franchise long ago so they don't need to get as butthurt over it as they do over Jurassic Park which still gives a shitload of milk
I grew up with the JP on Sega. played it at my neighbors. I was more into SNES ports of the games as I found them better (but had my Genesis games that weren’t available for snes) so I wanted the SNES game assuming it would be the same game but better. I don’t recall where I saw and played it but I was disappointed but intrigued to play. I recall getting bored quick and just wanting to see the T-Rex. It felt like and RPG without role playing enemy fights and then the Doom like stages which I never got into a doom. So I liked the Genesis version best. It had better gameplay, there was more tense and suspense due to the dinosaurs jumo scares and game looked gritty, it was a good ambiance for dinosaurs. Looking at this video I’m glad I never got the SNES version. The game felt like one big level that liked the same with the occasional third person shooter levels. No doubt if the SNES got ported the same version game as the genesis it would have been better. However even though the genesis JP game is better, why do a comparison of the consoles as they were two completely different games?
huh...you may have a point. for us presentation is more about the way the story is presented during cut scenes or just general layout of menus. in this video passwords and maps were lacking so they made the game more difficult to play. in future videos we may move those into presentation, if both games have them to compare.
The music for the sega always gave me anxiety. I felt like something terrible was always about to happen. And I remember the first time I tried the snes game. I walked into a room, saw that awful first person pov and said, "nope!"
Jurassic park on snes is one of the games that took me the longest to complete, I spent the whole day going to all areas to get all the cards to access other areas, honestly it's one of the most complete Super Nintendo games I've ever seen and the most challenging that I've already played, the one on the mega drive I played for a few hours and honestly it didn't amuse me at all. Lol
I'm a raptor, doin'what I can - gon' eat everything 'till appearance of man / yo, yo, see me - I'm livin bleow the soil -I'll be back, but I'm comin as oil *coolshades*
Jurassic Park came with my Mega Drive. Dr Grants campaign is fun because it is longer and more of a challenge. And once you know how to handle the Raptor properly his campaign is a walk in the Park.
I agree with Xavior... The Genesis version is terrible, it's just a generic platform game with horrible gameplay... The control response is just irritating! The Snes game is a more interesting game, in my opinion. It's not a greeeeat game (very far from it) but an open world game brings more possibilities than a generic platform game... With VERY BAD controls.
I wouldn't say they're equally bad. At least the top-down area on the SNES version is a lot of fun to play. The first person levels just bring it down by a lot but the controls, enemy placement and some of the level design on the Genesis is just horrendous! Saying these are equally bad is like saying drinking Pepsi and drinking bleach are equally terrible ideas. Sure one might not be the best tasting drink out there but at least it's not Pepsi.
Hey if you wanted to impersonate Dr Grant should've asked an Aussie like me ! .. oh wait this is 3 years ago .. guess you missed the boat just like poor ol' Dennis did. Good video >> made me laugh so can't be half bad right >> ? ;-)
I’m sorry but a T-Rex that says “Sega” is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen from the 90’s and you should have just shown that first and declared it the winner.
The Sega Genesis is way better
Thanks! we worked hard on this one. the genesis version is not easy, we had plenty of fits as well.
The Music in this one is pretty Funky I like it.
"Why don't you have a seat on the couch?"
"No thanks"
"I have no reason to question that!"
LOL'd
Classic old-school Console Wars!
We even had some good jokes way back then.
Asking a puppet to have a seat on the couch is one of those things that just gets me.
I'm legitimately angry that you guys don't have more subscribers. All I watch is gaming nostalgia and review type videos. You guys are up there with AVGN, LGR, Guru Larry, all the best. Never stop!
Thank you! We don't plan on stoping any time soon.
The Genesis soundtrack is very dark and creepy, ambient. That's why I love it so much. Far better than the Super Nintendo version.
I actually think the SEGA version fits the game well; it sounds dark, primal, and minimalistic. Perfect for a jungle I think.
Exactly. Conventional song structure would be a drawback. It would hurt the atmosphere.
Chin up, Greg. We love you and appreciate what you are doing. Sometimes I need you to keep my 40 year old ass sane. Love Console Wars and I wish you all the best. Get all the help you can get and need. Take good care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you again!

"Wha? Me? Racist? I dated a raptor!" hahaha
Every time you guys drop a new video, I feel like I can save my game in real life.
yea its true the genesis version is better, but one big plus for the megadrive is the music i play this game for the amazing soundtrack, trust me put some big sub woofer, this is one of the best 16 bit soundtrack that exist!!!!
There’s so many Genesis games that really do need an amp!
The Genesis version used digitized imagery from the movie (i.e. the dinosaurs, for example), and this added to the game’s realism. As far as I’m concerned, the Genesis version is the more faithful adaption.
The Rampage Edition for Sega genesis was my favorite.
This was a no brainer, Even the nintendo guy knew it.
Man I love the MEGA DRIVE's Jurassic Park.
I've shit my pants back in the day when I saw the intro with the T-Rex breaking out ^^
Holy crap the Mega Drive wins definitely.
Last year, I gained a new interest in the "Jurassic Park" franchise thanks to "Shinobi 03". I'm currently reading the original book by Michael Crichton, really good book so far. I even played the "Lego Jurassic World" video game. Awesome work on this episode.
I grew up on the Mega Drive JP games and love the LEGO game :) It comes so close to the fun I had on the Mega Drive back in the day.
@@hiltwo I love the Lego Game as well. 😀
Should do another one between the Chaos Continues and the Rampage Edition.
I think It should be better to compare Jurassic Park 2 for Snes with the genesis games, since it's a side-scrolling platform game like the genesis games.

Stereo sound was also fairly new then and the sound of the raptor on the right on the SNES coming from the right speaker was REVOLUTIONARY.
Sega version had that awsome debug fuck around cheat where you could place objects and go to any stage. My favorite was when you did Grant vs. Grant at the end of the Raptor campaign, the game crashes when you get hit by any of his abilities.
we might. it depends if theres enough differences between the 2 games.
Agreed. There are many different types of Jurassic Park games to choose from.
That depends on how to play with the new version, Well done!
thanks for watching. were already working on the next one.
You two were so drunk while filming this. Cracks me up!
SNES version also has a glitch that you can get stuck in the door in the interior levels. >_
That was a another sweet episode I somehow missed and I’m glad I did this cheered me up big time when you’re almost 40 and gotta pay bills and crap this is a great escape to the good ol days when games and movies were seemingly always awesome. you guys are fckn awesome i love these videos takes me back to my childhood keep them up
Copyright issues. Not sure if there will be music here LOL
This show's skits are the best. Hands down. The fork and spoon bit killed me. I watched it at least ten times!
The snes game was so freakin' hard to beat. Sooo long, running back and forth getting different items from different areas without a single save.. I got close to the end so many times as a kid but it just seemed to go on and on.

14:46-15:46 XDDDD
I really dont know what is worse.... Him taking him to the hospital tomorrow!!?? or him having the bed to himself because of it???!!!??? LMAO LOL love this channel
you guys have a great delivery on the console wars topic; very funny and well done. please keep up the great work.
I always loved the SNES version of Jurassic Park. The music was always great, and while I did get lost quite a bit I still enjoyed it. I never beat it as a kid. Do Warlock On SNES and GEN
thanks dude. def gonna check out your recent reviews when i get a chance. devil man and dominion tank police were a couple of my first animes.
Yo he said he dated a raptor to end that PC confrontation by the dragon lmao 🐉
You can redeem the SNES version by using a device like the Naki Game Saver or by emulating. Ocean knew they what they were doing by cheaping out, a battery backup is a must.
Going through and watching all of your guys older stuff, and I love the piss filter on this camera. hahaha
I think this is you guys best video yet. It was hilarious and had good points. The Genesis version gave me fits as a kid, but I did enjoy playing it.
But what about that Nintendo Lacks of Save Feature in Jurassic Park.
Oh wait... nevermind.
I think we also have to get credit to Sega because the difficulty on the Genesis version is more difficult than the SNES version, not just because of the few control problems it has, but because the game itself is challenging. And any hardcore gamer like myself enjoys a good challenge :D
Sega didn't make the game.
Genesis easy win!

Then play it and see how fast u go dead
Brandon Brockman I beat it as a kid yo. It wasn't Nintendo hard.
Here's one, Road Runner on the SNES vs Desert Demolition on the Genesis, also please PLEASE do an episode for Tiny Toon on SNES vs Genesis!
The T-Rex image on Sega looks awesome!
"That'll learn em!"
Emmy Award winning acting. You guys make the best videos!
So they don't use the Jurassic Park music in the middle of the video due to copyright only to a different copyrighted theme from another film by the same composer at the end? Logic?
Shhhhhhhhhh. Don't need to get i trouble for that one too. Maybe the copyright for the Jaws theme is over since it came out so long ago?
Unfortunately, the Jaws music copyright lasts until 95 years after the publication date. And the Jurassic Park theme (since it was released after 1977) is copyrighted until 70 years after the creator's death. And John Williams is still alive. So just hold out a hundred years, and you're golden, ha ha.
They'll extend copyright before then. Copyright terms are now basically infinite.
+Jordan Williams the difference is that they murdered the Jaws franchise long ago so they don't need to get as butthurt over it as they do over Jurassic Park which still gives a shitload of milk
5:17 absolutely hilarious. Right at the end of the sentence you shot out 1 jolt of electricity. Like a duck quacking lol
I grew up with the JP on Sega. played it at my neighbors. That dino made this videos twice as fun.
The sega versions sound effects and music actually sounds alive and lived in, something truly ahead of its time for the generation.
Genesis version was hard! Fun though! Snes version was amazing though! It was original! I loved it!
Awesome channel dudes...keep it up.
I love that cool looking puppet Dinosaur
The music for the sega always gave me anxiety. I felt like something terrible was always about to happen.
And I remember the first time I tried the snes game. I walked into a room, saw that awful first person pov and said, "nope!"
Can't wait for Jurassic World!😀
Jurassic park on snes is one of the games that took me the longest to complete, I spent the whole day going to all areas to get all the cards to access other areas, honestly it's one of the most complete Super Nintendo games I've ever seen and the most challenging that I've already played, the one on the mega drive I played for a few hours and honestly it didn't amuse me at all. I dig the puppet dinosaur
Gentlemen, your show is goood. And fresh!
JP on Sega is one of my absolute favorite games from the 16-bit era.
This one is pure gold
Jurassic Park came with my Mega Drive.
Dr Grants campaign is fun because it is longer and more of a challenge.
And once you know how to handle the Raptor properly his campaign is a walk in the Park.
The end bit was well done, I smiled a pretty big smile; I didn't laugh, but I only laugh on laughing days... WHich are today... hahahaha
Jurassic Park for the Genesis for me hands down
I loved playing this back in the day and finished both modes. I don't think I want to play it again, I have a feeling my memories will be tarnished.
1:55 Man, even Albert Wesker liked the game !
Larry Nixon's Super Bass Fishing vs Ecco the dolphin LOL
These guys make me crack up at every video!
New subscriber!
You guys seem nice and "relaxed" for this review. Heh. Another awesome comparison.
Damn...where was this channels all these years..never came up!
This almost looks like it was shot in the 00's. Not far away from that.
we will. thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching.
Sega version...the first time we ever called the hotline when we were kids. Could not figure out the ending of the Raptor play through.
thats a possibility. we always need ideas for new episodes. thanks for watching
Guys, guys, guys....Jurassic Park for both consoles were BOTH EQUALLY BAAAAAAAAAAAAD
Its true had it on Genesis, never played past the second level
+Adriana M I used to borrow it from a friend, beat both paths multiple times. It's a challenging game, but definitely not a bad one.
Both games have good stuff about them.

It's mad how they were so different with the same licence
LMAO 2:35, " Portraits of characters from the movie look dead on" Yeah ok, buddy.
FuchGugel
It's Satire of school yard hyperbole and fanboyism
Y’all sound druuuuuuuunk in this one.
I got the Roy, Boy reference from Kingpin. Great little joke
What is that amazing rendition of the Jurassic Park theme from the live action sections with Donson?
Just a random song I wrote.
Console Wars Can you put it on soundcloud or something so I can listen to it fully?
You gotta do the sequels - Rampage Edition vs. The Chaos Continues
Awesome episode as ususal guys!
Hey if you wanted to impersonate Dr Grant should've asked an Aussie like me ! .. oh wait this is 3 years ago .. guess you missed the boat just like poor ol' Dennis did. Good video >> made me laugh so can't be half bad right >> ? ;-)
I don't think he was doing an impression of Dr Grant. He was doing an impression of Bob Peck's character which was pretty spot on.
P Ferreira can I impersonate you then
The Top Loader If you know what I sound like, ha, ha!
P Ferreira Wouldnt have a clue so I'll just wing it lol .. you can do me
The Top Loader Thanks.
Little unfair being that they're different games but yeah sega won that one. The sequels would have been a better comparison however
Whoa!!! Sega's on the left!!! Mandela effect!!!
SNES may have won the music battle but the visitor center theme on Sega at 7:13 was >>>>>>>>
Does the Super Nintendo have a kick ass rampage edition?
I swear at the end I heard my late mother say to me the same thing she said after watching the original film.
It opened...the fucking...door...
Sorry, the version of the song of genesis is better.
Do a Rock'n Roll Racing video...nice work, Guys!!!
