Yup. The sad part is our culture doesn't care about cheating. We celebrate cheaters in everything.
Idiots go in debt $250,000 for rig and gear to compete. That puts them in a must win situation to pay the devil. Money ruins everything that was once honest and fun . There's so many tournaments in the country today that our lakes are stressed, overcrowded with idiots in 300 hp boats. This is why I spent good money building a 15 acre lake on my farm. Our lakes have been overtaken by rude idiots, drunken fools . Our lakes need HP limits and more speed sensitive zones. Nobody needs a motor bigger than 150 HP. Heck, the bass can only swim so fast. I catch daily limits from a small aluminum boat with a 40 HP Mercury. Stealth, patience and experience in conjunction with skill catches fish.

I’m not asking this to be rude, I’m genuinely interested to know why it would dampen your ability to fun fish when ever you please.
I ask the same question about the electronics, 99.9% of the vocal opposition openly admit to not tournament fishing or even watching tournament fishing. Absolutely nothing inside the tournament would influences what a person does outside of that arena. If you are disturbed by the actions of someone or something that has no bearing on your ability to pursue an activity you choose to do a certain way, well that’s a you problem imho.
I dealt with cheating in my local lake night tournaments. “Basket” fishing to win a hundred bucks is laughable.
Cheating has been going for years. Breaking rules has been going on for years. Tried tournament fishing back in the 90s. It was out of control then. Honest man don't have a chance against that.
I think releasing fish with fin clips to weight fish still attached is what happened lately by Milliken. Cull tags typically float, but releasing fish with either of these devices shows a lack of attention and care. That should be grounds for a DQ. Carelessness kills bass and cannot be considered an "accident".
Safety rule violations aren't innocent. Blowing through a no-wake is not innocent, as you suggested herein. Forgetting to put on your life jacket, failing to zip it up, or not using a kill switch are not innocent, as you suggested herein. These are against the law in some instances, and certainly against tournament rules. What's so hard about following all the laws/rules to the letter without sliding on the slippery slope you present us with herein? You just get cronyism and favoritism with your recipe. My thoughts. Follow the rules.
You know how to solve that problem one don’t ever have any fishing tournaments. Get rid of them too anything goes who gives a shit as long as it doesn’t break a rules, violation fishing game and DNR you’re good to go. Don’t break laws. Are you good to go?
The number one rule violation of upper level tournaments, by a huge margin, is receiving information specific to the tournament waters. This violation has more impact on the tournament results than any other violation, by a huge margin. This rule is violated by a huge majority of participants.
Yep that's what happens when money 💰 is involved. Even local tournaments it happens.

Most of my fishing is with soft plastics or jig fishing. Cheap and effective.

Hope you were watching the last day of Lake Champlain when Patrick Walters boat flipped two smallmouth in a row into the boat and left them flopping on the deck and cast out for the third. I have never seen a more blatant violation of the good sportsman's rule. Boat flipping should not be allowed at all. Let alone leaving the fish flopping around the boat for minutes at a time.

I'm tired of small local tournaments, I know guys are dumping fish in coves and have baskets hidden.
I think there has always been cheating and rules violations, but there are more cameras out there, so they are being caught.
You shouldn't use the word cheating by using forward facing sonar until there are rules in place that they can't be used. That's like saying your guilty before proof. Until then there not cheating.

A well known pro "invited" me to go fishing with him on my home waters where I'm known by the local tackle shop as someone who is on the lake every week. I don't give 3 s#@ts about tournament fishing so I turned him down. Someone told me it was inside the off limits period ... like I said, one big s#@t show ...

Also goes for dogs hunting quail,
pheasant, raccoons, etc. Dogs are the so called cheater box and pinpoint whichever you're hunting. No one ever tried to outlaw it.
@@kevinreimers1271hunting dogs are a naturally occuring thing , that is what they do , they work hand in hand with man for hundreds of years . Ive had bird dogs my whole life and ive fished for bass my whole life , you cannot make a comparison of bird dog to FFS .

while i do not agree with you on certain things. rule violations should always be addressed in a fair and unbiased manner. also.... jet drives in bass fishing should have been the norm 20 years ago. a jet drive is absolutely superior to an outboard in terms of a boats draft.

Randy is not downgrading anything at all, he's simply pointing out the truth. Biggest thing about TRUTH is it's a hard pill to swallow and equally a difficult thing to point out, especially among friends/coworkers and most especially sponsors. Cool thing about RUclips is that if a channel puts out content that hurts your feelings, is not to your liking, doesn't align with your views and/or opinions, you can operate is just like you do your TV ..... CHANGE THE CHANNEL. That alone would keep people from posting dumbass comments. Just move on, no harm no foul. However, studies of social media addiction have shown that once someone posts a comment, they then become fixated on the platform topic because they are now looking for vindication of their comment and/or point of view. Whether the channel's choice of topic is positive or negative, or whether they agree or disagree, people cannot control themselves and hang around just to be part of the program because they are afraid of missing something. So here you go ...... just like the old saying "HERE'S YOUR SIGN," well ...... here's your reply comment. So, change your channel and move on, no sense in thinking you are watching the same video over and over. Randy, the ways to cheat in a bass tournament are endless, if you have a lot of money, you can pay your friends and family to fish the lake and report back to you how you gonna defend that the more locals you know the better I love how these guys show up and know exactly where the fish are 40 miles away lol we can go over everybody’s wins for years, ,next year you were nowhere near that spot hmmmm they all got their scouts. it’s never ending. Let alone the people who keep them in boxes lol
Randy you need to start a new tournament for real anglers. You will pick up the sponsorship you need. I was going to fish a local tournament last year until I seen a boat launch with forward facing sonar. I decided not to fish. Keep a level platform.

I think if you are given the information, you can listen to it on your way to the lake and then say……I was listening to it on the way to the tournament and didn’t really listen that good and you could listen to it over and over. Maybe you need to listen and pay attention. Then get told the same things in a meeting. Yes, I’m talking about running a no wake zone. In my opinion, if you are an elite, now wearing big boy pants, listen and know the rules for every tournament. Otherwise blowing through a no wake zone is cheating as far as I’m concerned. Yes, I agree there can be honest mistakes, fine no problem. But when a tournament director gives 1 angler a penalty, if you really call it that, but another angler did the same thing and he said he didn’t know it was a no wake zone, but both got different amount of time penalties. Rules are rules, break one, same penalty for exact same scenario. Agree worse offenses deserve greater penalties for some. But in my opinion, this tournament director just wants to do what she wants for who she wants and caters to the electronic companies. JMO.

Guys are going to push the limits and operate in the gray. What is disappointing to me is BASS in particular will never be honest about cheating and they will never fine or punish the "popular" guys they think will bring fans and clicks such as Miliken who would go on a social media rampage and give BASS a black eye if he was ever called out by the power in charge.

You know Randy, it's funny how you were talking about there wasn't a rule that says you couldn't use gas cans along the bank to help you get back to where the fish were, and back to the boat dock to weigh in at end of the day. There isn't any rule that says FFS isn't allowed in tournaments either. I guess we can ALL agree that using FFS isn't cheating, RIGHT ??? 😉 I mean, you might not like the fact that Bass and MLF allow FFS, but you can at least admit that it's not cheating ?
