    Medellin it’s wonderful I enjoy every time I travel down there, especially being Latino. I can communicate with the locals and yes, they’re very friendly, very humble.

    Was it Parque Berrio (near Metro station)? In one video ("avoid this naughty street...) from Kurt Caz in Medellin he described it as one of the most dangerous areas. A side street near the metro. Maybe you can show it from your perspective as well in the future. Also maybe you have a chance to meet and collab with Kurt Caz as well. He lives in Medellin too, I read. Would be amazing 😁

      Yeah the station I got off at in this video was Parque Berrio, also if you check my second video I start right at Parque Berrio and walk around a little too. Haha yeah would be dope to collab with Kurt.

    I live in NY and Medellin as well. I've been watching MDE videos for years. This has been the first set I really enjoy and relate to. Something about your videos just seem so natural and not "Yotuber." Great work!

    such a beautiful country and the culture is interesting too. I love the indigenous South American peoples ,they are so fascinating . I have always been fascinated by them Aztecs,Incas, Mapuches and so many more. A pity there is so few of them left , I believe only abt 2 milion out of the 51 million Colombians are Ameridian . The rest are a fusion of spaniards, indigene, arabica, afros, euros and many more. Bt they are beautiful people. I believe there is also a caste system in most latin american countries where the more whiter you are the more access you have to wealth, education and land. I dont know whether that system also operates in Colombia. If is does it would be sad .

      Unfortunately, the indigenous people in Colombia, like in all countries of the Americas, are highly impoverished. Their community has many problems, from addictions to teenage pregnancy and domestic violence.
      Their reservations are usually in remote areas far from cities, and many don't speak Spanish. However, some learn Spanish and manage to integrate into Colombia's society and culture.
      About the caste system and how it relates to race, it is not as based on race as it is in other countries. For example, in Colombia, you can go into the poorest barrios of any city; there, you will see people of all races, from white-skinned Colombians to afro-Colombians, and everything in between. However, one can't ignore that the most poverty-stricken regions of Colombia are Chocó, Cauca, and La Guajira; in these regions, Afro-Colombian and Indigenous people make up most of the population.

    Thank you for showcasing Santa Elena, CO - very beautiful place. Question: what is a colectivo? is it like taxi / uber? Also, to help those (like me) interested in location of points of interest showcased, maybe drop google pin in description. Good video 👍

    • @andresonearth
      @andresonearth  Год назад +1

      Hey, thankyou! The colectivos of Sta Helena are a group that work to transport people who don't have their own vehicle to the harder to reach parts of Sta Helena, or to get people there faster than waiting for the bus. Its technically illegal since they don't have government permission but they've been doing it or years. For the locations I'll see if I can drop a pin.

      @@andresonearth - how much are colectivos compared to buses?

    • @andresonearth
      @andresonearth  Год назад +1

      @@leefamilytx the bus Will always be 2.700 COP which Is like 50cents a colectivo Will be roughly 2-8 dollars depending on the distance

      My goal for this channel is to share & document Colombia, my mother country, from a perspective that is not commonly shown. Filming my travels is obviously way outside my comfort zone but I enjoy the process and am eager to continue sharing. I know I am inexperienced at telling stories and putting together videos but I am determined to improve my skills.
