There are many youtbers in Spain who do the same, they even go to the most dangerous neighborhoods of the Caribbean, Central America and South America and where they show you drug dealers, hitmen, drug addicts, and pets ... but that is due to the fact that being Spanish they speak perfect Spanish and can deal better and directly with people. They even end up being friends. But the work that Kurt is doing is splendid. It must be recognized that he has a lot of courage for entering dangerous neighborhoods and with his appearance and his Spanish language ... the truth that shows a lot of courage.

@Sidewayyys haha mate I respect the game, as long as you’re always respectful to women and make sure the move comes from them and communicate honestly about your intentions then it can be really fun to be single (at least in my experience once you have gone through your early relationships). I haven’t done much travelling in my life recently, nowhere near what I intend to because of my career (hence I live vicariously through this Mack daddy at the moment 😂). This really connected with me. I visited Colombia several times between 2013 and 2016. It was a real learning experience. The country is spectacular but what I remember most is the warmth and kindness of the people. You find friendly people in all countries but Colombia is special, the people are so welcoming. They went out of their way to show me the city and invited me to their homes for meals and to meet the rest of their family. It was humbling because it was so genuine, so heartfelt. They had nothing to gain from reaching out as they did, the experience has stayed with me.
If you haven’t visited you should. The unfortunate reputation is completely undeserved, the country had its problems but has moved on and is a hidden jewel. I spent time in Bogotá and Cartagena and was genuinely emotional when I left. I’ll be back at some point and can’t wait to see old friends and meet new ones.
Hardly moved on. I speak to a girl from Colombia. Sh** is harsh there. Still barely any jobs....corrupt government. People attacking each other with machetes. It's not THAT nice of a country unless you go to the areas with nicer more relaxed people. Lol

Anyway, that rule of his --- about not taking on a guide spontaneously AFTER you've arrived in a new country --- is a good one to operate by.
Pre-screened contacts or guides may still turn out to be frauds or dangerous; but at least you've had some minimal research on their backgrounds, families, connections, etc. before hand. Once you've arrived and some of their stories don't match, you know something is wrong a bit ahead of time.
Picking up a guide on some street, to show you "around...".... he or she could take you straight to her/his gang boss & you won't have even the slightest of suspicions. That's the difference.

You can have the best experiences in the places most tourists don't go. People tend to be extra friendly and hospitable. I think maybe in part because they are happy to see a tourist giving their place a chance. They really want to give you a good impression and let you know it's not so bad as all the negative media might have portrayed it.
