Good video, it sounds good now and not too loud for a daily driver but at least we can hear that it is a v8 now, and typical that the welder would stop working on a Sunday when it was so close to being fully welded, cheers.
Cheers mate! I couldn't believe my luck when the welder decided to say goodbye, was so close to finishing the job too. Always the way!😅 Definitely has a nice amount of noise to it now, not too loud, not too quiet. Just about right for a nice, comfortable cruiser! Hopefully i can still maintain a similar volume once the Pacemaker headers and full twin exhaust system are done
Can't beat the rumble of a 302. I had an au Fairmont Ghia 5.0 V8 a while back. I got the muffler shop to cut out the cats, mid muffler and the rear muffler had already been deleted by the prior owner. They welded in a single flow master super 44 which I picked up second hand. It was a cheap setup that flowed like crap but man it sounded tough. If I had another one I would go headers, twin 2.5 inch cat back with h pipe and two super 44s or 40 series. Cant beat flow masters on a 5.0. Good vid bro
Thanks bro!🍻. Definitely seems to be the right type of muffler for the 302, like you said, they sound tough! When i was searching RUclips for different muffler sound clips, the popular choice was always the 40 series Flowmaster's especially on the foxbody mustang's. Twin 40 series mufflers and a H-pipe seemed to be the combo that had the sound I was wanting, so definitely keen to try make that happen when we get this exhaust redone properly. Hopefully there's enough room under there for 2x mufflers before it sweeps up over the diff
Oh damn, i couldnt even imagine doing an exhaust with an arc welder lol. Bad enough doing it with a cheap gasless mig😂😂. As long as it has fine adjustments so it's not burning holes through the pipe, should be sweet!👌🏼
Hey mate, unfortunately no, have not really had any experience with the VCT 4.0's yet. I assume the factory cam gear will need to be ditched and replaced with a vernier cam gear so cam timing can be locked and VCT disabled. Might be worth maybe getting in contact with T.I Performance and seeing if they might have any insight on this
The man brother, hey would you be interested in a swap for my 08 XR6 FG for one of your V8s? Ive always wanted to own a Ford V8, if interested can five more details 😎
Cheers bro! I'll have to pass on that offer, sorry bro. I been in the same boat chasing down a good, tidy V8 for a long time so I couldn't see myself letting any of them go now as greedy as that sounds 😅. The green EF V8 you might have seen on the channel is my old man's one which i was trying to buy off him for ages, but he wouldn't budge so I had to cop my own. Seen a few pop up on marketplace, just a matter of finding a good geniune example!
Hahaha, i work in a CNC machine/engineering workshop. Lets just say a lot of overtime and no social life is required to modify and maintain all these Falcon's🤣🤣
My 92 NC Fairlane had the exact same system , with no cats. I removed the rear muffler after it rusted out and replaced it with a straight pipe. Does make a little bit of sound now , but not what you would call a great note. These 302 engines have one major fault which is easily fixed. A filter below the PCV that clogs , resulting in crank case pressure , that pumps ol into the throttle body and blows out sump gaskets, also oil from the dip stick. Its a bugger to see and get to , but just grab it with pointed pliars or a cork screw and remove it. I made a video about it.ruclips.net/video/ZIrm_7qNOwM/видео.htmlsi=h79M_jY4kUEsIANu
Thanks for the tip regarding that PCV filter, mate!👍🏻 I will be sure to check that out when I pull the intake manifold out. Was planning to swap it out for the better flowing AU 5.0 intake manifold soon so I will have good access to that filter. Thanks for the link to your video also, comes in very handy!
The little 302 Windsor is my favourite engine
Definitely one of mine also, very underrated engine I reckon. With the right combo, they can perform quite well👌🏼
