I dropped my phone on my hardwood floor in the middle of the night last night, my poor baby flapped around his cage like there was a firecracker tied to his tail. He has a night light but I turned on the lamp and let him sleep with me (he likes to sleep on the Pillow next to me sometimes) the rest of the night. Thankfully he didn’t hurt himself and he’s totally fine.

One thing, is he literally sitting on the pillow next to you? If so It may be better to provide him a safe perch next to the bed. We've heard of a few cases of free roaming parrots getting hurt due to accidents!
I once stumbled very bad and fell over completely due to slipping on a loose sock on the floor, and managed to slightly bump the base of the cockatiel cage upon landing. I heard the tiels flapping around under the blanket and before I even realized I had suffered somewhat severe contusion damage myself, I was like "oh no, please don't panic poor babies" and lifted the corner of the blanket and put the lights on. Only then I was like "oh... my injury might well be hospital grade severe". Luckily my significant other was home and could keep a look out for the birds while I got a check-up. Reminder to everyone: don't leave loose socks on the floor! They can spook both bird parents and the birds xD

You should see a tiel react when a cat decides to meow from the porch. My tiel appreciate my presence, because they know that the cat will leave if I move towards it; I feel like my tiels' big brother. A semi-related story, I watched a cat during the day that looked like it was stalking around, but gave up when a wild bird was not only making an alarm call from a branch directly above the cat, it was also harassing the cat by following it tree-to-tree while alarm calling. The cat realized the futility and walked off.

Seen pictures of medium sized parrots on it, figured, why not give it a try. Seems everything I buy for Buddy the Budgies end up loving too lol!
@@angsfeatheredfriends seems pretty cool! If they enjoy it then a good thing to grab!
Today my cockatiel wanted to be pet for the first time but weird thing... With my legs lol cuz he still doesn't like hands! I can't believe what I'm typing. This bird is just so weird. I switch to my finger while petting him so that he doesn't realize it. Soon he turns his head, sees my hand and freaks out.
Hey Sayru!
They do have some odd habits lol. I mean as long as he is enjoying the petting it's all good!
Just watch out in case he gets frisky. Olive loves sitting under my arm, but we noticed she kept trying to move it to her back!
@@TheParrotTeacher yea I mean it's tiring 😂but hey. I'm glad my parrot isn't the only weird one😂
@@seymak43 Good leg exercise lol!
Also yeah, they almost all have odd habits!
Mines gotten a lot better. She's still not tame yet
It's good she's calmed down a bit!
@@TheParrotTeacher I think so too. It may take a while for her to be fully tame
Tysssm my birds started bleeding after bumping in cage
Hey there,
No problems! Make sure they are ok though, just in case they need to go to the vet!
That's a pretty grey boy
Thank you!
Your profile picture is adorable ☺️
Thank you! An artist friend designed it for me. We asked her to make for all of our birds too!
Why is new bird so quiet
Hey Harkirat,
I don't know! You'd have to look into the environment, diet, health, personality and so many other factors to work that out!
Why am i no longer getting any notifications 😂 great video, gizmo is more of a scaredy bird
I'm not sure, it doesn't always tell me when you respond either!
Lol thank you!
My cockatiel is very AGRESSIVE if u put ur finder in the cage he’ll hiss and bite hard
Hey Teddy,
I'd look at training him and getting him used to fingers. It takes work!
@@TheParrotTeacher Thanks! 😄
@@simplyroyaleoldaccthenewis3596 No problems, both me and Sophie have lots of videos on training and bonding!
@@TheParrotTeacher tyyyy
My cockatiel would always go crazy and sadly bumps into glass🥵🥵🥵
They can get spooked! It's not fun and can be scary for us too!
@@TheParrotTeacher my bird doesn’t get spooked he gets excited then bump into the glass is the problem😭😭😭
Sometimes spooked by my conures
@@LHEEBB That isn't that unusual. Our two used to fly into the window when they were little and got spooked to. We put a thin curtain in front whenever they were out so they would know to avoid it or just grip onto.
@@TheParrotTeacher the weird part is why do conures NOT bump into glasses and cocktaiels do right?
You should see a tiel react when a cat decides to meow from the porch. My tiel appreciate my presence, because they know that the cat will leave if I move towards it; I feel like my tiels' big brother.
A semi-related story, I watched a cat during the day that looked like it was stalking around, but gave up when a wild bird was not only making an alarm call from a branch directly above the cat, it was also harassing the cat by following it tree-to-tree while alarm calling. The cat realized the futility and walked off.
I can imagine they wouldn't be too happy about cats they don't know!
Lol, birds doing the best thing there!

Thank you!
