Congrats Morgan !!!! Wishing you the best on your interviews ! I've started my prereqs & im excited & nervous ! Yes, continue making videos i look forward to them !
Thank you ! & goodluck !
Congrats! Thank you so much! So is the program itself 2yrs or does that include prereqs?
@@Villagenanny HI Amy and to answer your question no prereqs aren't included they have to be done before applying to get into the program
Congratulations girl!! 💫👏🏽🎊💗 So exciting! Hard word definitely pays off. Looking forward to starting my Sonography journey next year.🙂
Thank you ! Goodluck on your journey !
So nervous! Lol I take my abdomen registry in 3 weeks 🤣🤣 I took the ESP seminar though and that helped soooooo much!! I love the book they mail you 😍 it’s been a gem 💎
I have been interested in this program for a while but I’m kind of Scared lol I’m 26 years old never been to college, dropped out of high school at 16 but got my high school diploma last year & went & got my cna license in the same year. I’m also a single mother to an autistic 4 year old boy. Working full time. But I’m really interested so I went & signed up for college and I’m going to be taking the Prerequisites which is just BIO (Basic Anatomy & Physiology) ENG (Writing and Inquiry) MATH (Algebra/Trigonometry) & PHY (Conceptual Physics) my GPA needs to be 2.5 or higher. I’m extremely nervous. But hoping for the best. Your videos have helped me a lot thank you 🙏🏼
Wow! You got this girl ! I love your motivation. Keep going, stay positive and you will succeed
@@morganashley3420 thank you so much!
@@kellielanding664 Wow. Hey can I ask where you got to so far?
@@xndrpierce hi 👋🏼 I’m doing good so far. I failed biology 😩 so I need to take that over. I believe I have 2 semesters left because I am doing classes part time while I work full time. Then I will try for the program
Congratulations Morgan, I am really happy to hear that you have done your exams successfully.
thank you !
Yippie! Congratulations 🎉🎈🍾🎊! Thank you so much inspiring upcoming sonographers students such as myself.
Thank you !

i’m scared now ! thank god i haven’t started my school yet
Congrats girl! So proud of you :) we need more great sonographers in the world!
Thank you !! :)
@@morganashley3420 If someone has a 5 years degree in healthcare program but not in BS radiology or in BS diagnostic sciences can he/she be eligible for SPI and ARDMS?
Congrats!! I am a working sonographer but failed the exam due to language barrier/unfamiliar questions. Any other advice for someone in my situation? Thanks for video
Keep us up to date on your job finding journey....
Sooo relatable ! Nice video ! Great tips (:
Congrats Morgan!!
I’m in ultrasound school and Im hoping to make it all the way up to the boards; the failing rate in my school is excruciating high. From a student who’ve worked hard to sustained an A; I’ve plummeted to 70% in a 30 question quiz.
Hello i’m 16 and I want to be come a Sonographer and I have many questions about what every step to becoming a Sonographer are. What certifications I need, what tests i will need to take in the future, how so you become a specialized Sonographer, and how to take useful notes
I am also thinking about dropping out and getting my GED because I am in a complicated relationship with my family but i attend a Health Science High School and I know that can be helpful i’m just not sure what i should do
i think you just need to take the prerequisites for a sonography program, then apply!! :) you need to specialize in something like ob/gyn or vascular. i’m taking prereqs for dms!
Hi Luisa. First you'll need to take prereqs for which ever program you'd like. After completing the program there are many registries you can take depending on your program such as abdomen, obgyn, echo, vascular, breast etc. These are all separate exams and you can take as many as you would like. Prior to taking any of these specialties, everyone has to take the physics registry which is the SPI. After your registries you are all set to start your career in sonography.
You are only 16 , go to medical school , becoming to radiologist, you got plenty time
How did I study? I sick at states tests? I have bad anxity and panick attacks
Congrats Morgan!
Jevan Howard thank you !!
Congratulations 🥳🎉

Hey girly, your video is inspiring. Taking my Abdomen registry in October your video really help me understand i should expect and how to study.
On another note and totally unrelated, are you Jamaican or Caribbean? I am Jamaican and my ears are very keen to recognizing fellow caribbs especially other Jamaicans talking. But i could be wrong lol!
Appreciate your video so much!
Hey Lothania ! I'm glad I was able to help in some way. Yes I'm Jamaican lol ❤️ All the best on your registry in October, you got this !
@@morganashley3420wow I KNEW IT 😊! Thank you, so much,
Does the board exam consists of math questions? Also.. have you had to use math during your sonography work? I know you have to do it as a pre req and physics but what about in real life? Other than measuring fetal weight and length
For physics we do very basic math like addition, subtraction/division. Definitely wouldn't worry about the math component. For work there is no Math involved for the most part because the machines have packages built in that calculates for us.
Congrats girl! So proud ! I have watched all your vids and am amazed at your determination and enthusiasm ! So encouraged ❤️
Question: My ultrasound school is not accredited by CAHEEP but is accredited by ABHES ( Accrediting Bureau for Health Educational Schools ) and let’s us sit for SPI, ARRTS and ARDMS. And offers a associates degree! Is that okay and good school choice for me? It’s the closet ultrasound school near me.
Thank you! Yes that's another accrediting body. As long as your school allows you to sit for the exams under ARDMS you are good to go! Goodluck on your journey !
from personal experience, my school is exactly that. I 100% regret it. its made things so hard for me. more money out my pocket and a lot of time (years longer than a CAHEEP wouldve been). I took my ARRT (400 questions, 7hr exam, can only take it 3x in 3 yrs) twice I am finally in the process of scheduling my obgyn. and i still have no job.... do a lot of research before signing with a school. i wish i knew more when i started
@@breeannabroderick6949 did you finally have things work out? did u get a job too?
After watching your video, I am even more super excited to become a sonographer. when you had finished your program - where you offered a full-time or part-time position?
That's Awesome hope you enjoy your journey ! Unfortunately I graduated during the pandemic so a lot of us could not find jobs for a good while. But the jobs opened back up later in the year and we were able to find mainly per diem positions (which is as needed) but you get a higher pay rate. Starting out as a new grad those are the jobs you will most likely get depending on where you live. Florida is saturated so jobs are harder but in other places you'll find a full/part time job quicker!
I'LL BE SITTING FOR THE RCS EXAM... SO NERVOUS!!
Goodluck !! You got this !
@@morganashley3420 THANKS!
Which college did you do your program?
Did you use ultrasound registry review for echo? Congratulations🎉
LaShay ! Thank you ! & Yes I did. It was nice for review but you would need to go through your textbooks/notes for more info if you don’t remember everything.
Are you ARRT certified or ARDMS? I am assuming ARDMS.. my school is offering ARRT certified so I am not sure if I should stay with this school I live in NYC, and I want to make sure when I complete the program hiring for ARRT will be just as wanted.
I am ARDMS. ARRT is also recognized although ARDMS seems to be the more popular choice. Many job descriptions have ARRT or ARDMS in the job description though so I don't think that should be an issue when finding a job.
To be on the safe side/ squash any doubt, I would look at job descriptions in your area to see what they require when hiring. In my area, I saw either or so it's not an issue. But that's something you could do if you're having doubts.
Also if you plan on doing cardiac maybe in the future, I don't see a certification through ARRT specializing in cardiac, so that's something else to consider.
What is the name of the Edelman book you are referring to? I’m only seeing the physics book
Its called "ESP" and they are available for all the specialties so you can search "ESP abdomen review" for example. However, I don't see the books available for purchase anymore - only inflated prices because the company does courses/seminars- which is where some people get the review...I borrowed from a classmate. I'll have to make an updated video since it's off the market. You can still try and look around online though.. or ask around in your program because maybe one of the students from the year ahead of you has a copy.
Another book I used was the ultrasound review by Steven Penny - it's a red book and it helped. My classmates also used the Davies study review books and those are good popular ones too. Goodluck with your studying.
Thank you!!
Hey! I’m a senior in highschool and interested in sonography but i’m not sure where to start. Can you go to a community college or is there a certain major I would need to obtain? What did you do?
Yes you can go to a community college to take the prerequisite courses for the program you are interested in. After that you would apply. I had a bachelors degree with a premed track so I already had the requirements for the program before applying but you can take the courses at any college.
@@morganashley3420 thank you so much!
@@morganashley3420 If someone has a 5 years degree in healthcare program but not in BS radiology or in BS diagnostic sciences can he/she be eligible for SPI and ARDMS?
@@morganashley3420 I have done DPT doctor of physical therapy 5 years professional degree. Can I go for ARDMS?
Can anyone tell pls who is eligible for ARDMS exam?? What's the educational criteria ??
Hey Morgan,
Congrats! How long they give you take the test? Did you take it online or in person?:)
Hi Maria, there is a 5 year rule between taking the SPI (physics exam) and any specialty exam (abdomen, ob/gyn, vascular, echo etc) however after taking the first specialty there is no time limit to take additional exams. so just make sure to take the SPI and any specialty exam within 5 years of each other. The SPI is an exam everyone has to take as the prerequisite for all specialty exams.
Any tips start learning girly going back to school decided for this career
Hey I’m from San Diego Cali. Looking to get into ultrasound. What’s classes I have to take and what school you recommend
There are so many schools to choose from. I am in Florida so I'm not familiar with schools in other locations. When I was applying I researched my area and looked at reviews as well as each schools website to decide the best program for me.
The classes to take also vary by school so during your search you can make a list of the courses each program requires and compare them. They are all pretty similar though.
How many hours a day would you suggest to study?
Hi, did you have to take trig for a pre-req? Or at least before you took physics?
Hi. No I didn't take trig before physics but I had college algebra and calculus taken at the time. I don't think those are requirements for physics though. It's probably precalculus or college algebra. Each school varies with their prereqs though so definitely go on your school website to see which math you need before physics 1 so you don't end up taking courses you don't need.
What was the name of the review that you used?
I used the Edelman ultrasound registry review
Starting my sonography journey in April
Hello!! Congrats !! What review or course did you take for the Abdomen specialty test I am truly interested in passing my test blessings
Hi thank you ! I used the edelman review and my notes from school. It was a good review as long as you had a good foundation learning through your program. Goodluck on your exam!
Sorry I couldn’t find it online !! Can you send me the link please thank you thank you so much !!
@@karolcastellanos8319 No problem ! esp-inc.com/x-zone/ if you type ultrasound registry review on google it will pop up also. They have all the ultrasound specialties - courses, seminars, and practice questions you can choose from.
It’s me again how many hours of studying did you do daily and for how many weeks did you study in total for the exam ?? Sorry and thank you !!
Hey what book did you use to study for your echo boards?
Was it hard?
Are you Jamaican? I am too but American Jamaican I love your accent
Yes I am ! Thank you 😊
How many exams is it all together?
Parts*
Alasha __ there is an exam for each specialty . Abdomen, OBGYN, vascular, breast , echo etc. there are a few of them so it just depends on what you want to specialize in. But in the hospitals they require that you have vascular (RVT) and abdomen at least. Some even add echo since the departments could be combined.
Congrats
Do the professors offer tutoring throughout the program?
They have designated office hours on certain class days where you can visit and ask any questions on topics covered etc. My teachers were definitely helpful and would always try and get students to visit so they could better help anyone understand the topics if you didn't fully understand during lecture.
Can hardly hear you... my volume is all the way up
