Man, missed you a lot. That is an absolutely ingenious way to remove the broken ABS sensor. Wish you had made that video one year ago. I broke one of mine on my WK Grand Cherokee and spent at least 45 minutes drilling it out. If I ever break a sensor again, I know what I won't be doing - drilling. I'll be pulling out my torch, finding myself a screw, and pullin that baby out! Thanks for the vid, I'm a mechanic and that is a serious time saver. I've also learned in my mechanic experience that whenever it isn't necessary to remove the sensor from the hub, DON'T! Just unplug it from the electrical connector and leave the magnet in the hub. That has saved me countless hours of unnecessary labor time. I'd really like to see more vids on your 4.7 maroon Jeep. What's going on with Ruby these days?
I did this trick and a combination of others to get the sensor out tonight in my wife’s 2011 Acura MDX… thank you SO much. Your tips helped and got me in the right direction!
Thanks bud! I got a new job and had to dedicate myself 100% to that.. also it is a seasonally heavy gig (marina) so spring and summer my time will be tight, but I hope to crank out content this fall and winter and space out uploads. Thanks for caring and asking. Haha. Makes a guy want to keep putting in the effort 🤘🏻
Yup! Had the same thing happen on my 08 Liberty. I didn't think about using the torch. I just drilled out the center and was able to use a pick, dug into the plastic with the sharp end and it came right out. My Liberty has only been here in NY for 6 years so it wasn't too too bad and I also sprayed it with the ol' PB Blaster for a couple days beforehand. Good to see you. Definitely missed your content.
Brilliant!! 2019 Honda CRV. In the rust-belt Toronto area. Unbelievably stuck in there! I found a nice course thread screw, heated it up and screwed it in. I pulled it out with a claw hammer. It took some force, but totally held. I would never drill it out and send pieces into the wheel bearing, like some videos. Thanks buddy!!
Missed you guys! I'll be replacing both front fenders and drivers door on the ZJ during Jeep shutdown the week of the 25th. I really need to work on finding replacement parts and bearings for the front Dana 30. Hope to see more of y'all !
Thanks bud! I had to take a break while I got my personal life lined back up, but I am hoping to be back now. Glad to hear you are going to get some time wrenching on the ZJ!
I hope your mother enjoy the drive and thank you for the helpful tips so I can try to takeoff the ABS sensor on my Nissan Pathfinder, which is going to be a nightmare but thank you and please drop some more videos
I want to share my experience with this method on my Mazda 3 2016 (spoiler, it didn't work). As I live in Canada, it was no surprise that the sensor broke when I had to take it out, so I saw this video and decided to give it a try. What ended up happening was that the screw actually broke off while I was screwing it into the sensor. Now I didn't use the best screw for the job I admit, but I just want to let people know that things might just not work. Still, it was worth the try so thanks for the video.
Doing a wheel bearing and CV axle replacement and first thing out the door was this sensor housing cracking. 06 Murano, last 7 in NY so not surprising. Couple things worth mentioning as per other videos: 1. Measure new sensor and only drill 1/2 - 2/3of that length so you don't hit anything below it. 2. Apparently you should lube the top of the sensor with ceramic brake/slide pin grease or even chassis grease over the different metallic-based anti-seizes. Not sure why as both copper and aluminum anti-seize are both non-ferromagnetic and the sensor is copper wire inside a stainless steel case inside moulded plastic...
Just employed this on my FX35. ABS sensor was stuck in the exact same way. Pretty much did the same thing, but already had the wheel hub out, so I pushed mine out, instead of pulled. Used a screwdriver, torched it, shoved it in there, and hit it with a hammerer till it came out.
You just saved me so much money I thought I was gonna have to get a whole new rear end for my Vic and this worked to pull the abs so I could pull the axle
Yes sir! I have had a heck of a year in my personal life, but I am hoping this will be the beginning of a return to normalcy. Thanks for not forgetting me!
Thank you 🙏 it worked perfectly the way you described, but I put the new one on and it still had all the lights on? Do I have to disconnect the battery or drive it for so many miles or should the lights, abs, traction control, stabilizer, go off automatically once I plug it in???
There’s usually 2 sensors one per side. Did you check and replace the other? If not that could be the issue if the other is bad. But if you replaced both then yes you may need to reset the light but if all is good then they should go away on their own. Another place to check is the main abs computer hub, it could be bad as well
It was a bad sensor that I bought off Amazon, they have cheap ones and expensive ones. Definitely buy the expensive one first. Once that was on all the lights went out. Thanks again!
Yea bud. 100%. I have been way off the grid figurin’ on some stuff, but I am working my way bad in to society. Haha. I need to catch up on your fleet of project bud. Let’s talk soon
Greetings from Ontario. Thank you man for the advice that works awesome pulled out like butter! Send yours and my video to my previous "mechanic". Thanks again 🙏🙏
This helped me alot I'm going to give it a try soon cuz the same thing happened to me. you say that a broken sensor can cause shifting problems? That's definitely happening to me
This is a great trick. My speed sensor broke in half and i couldnt figure out how to remove it from the wire harness end. Futzed with it for quite a while before seeing this video. I did this and it worked. Also loved the accent. You should be on tv.
Tapping that sensor in is a horrible idea, The correct way would have been for you to actually clean the rust and debris out of the hole, Then apply a little grease to the new sensor before installing!
wow - nice work....doing mine and it won't come out and I don't want to force it it because it might break off like yours..If it does, Now I know what to do..Thanks
That is exactly it! I started a position in a completely new industry and had to apply myself 100% if I wanted to make the cut. I am hoping to be back now, though
Our broke off as well - I drilled a small diameter hole in the plastic piece stuck in - gently drove a screw into it and pulled the broken round plastic piece out -
I dig it bud, but don’t your dashboard melt and seat belt buckets dole out 3rd degree burns?? Just kidding bud. I have heard AZ is awesome. I certainly have zero love for Jersey outside of it being home.
So stoked your back making vids. After years of searching I finally found a solid 03 wj. Gonna need a complete front end rebuild from the control arms all the way down to the shock mounts. Any chance you have a list of parts from your front end rebuild vid? The more I start looking into brands to buy the more I confuse my pea brain. So anyone out there smarter than me, what brand is worth the coin of buying new? Mainly road driving with a little weekend/summer off road action just to get to campsites. Edit: control arms, shock mounts, all TRE's, bushings, links, spare bolts, cotter pins etc. Also possibly a part number for correct pickle fork.
My guy you are a lifesaver, and sensor broke on the right side of my chrysler and this video came in clutch, much thanks
Did just like you showed on my Audi, but I predrilled and used a three inch deck screw.
Another satisfied customer!!
This just saved me so much time. Last one I drilled out and used a pick to get it out bit by bit. This was much easier. Thanks for the tip dude.
Man, missed you a lot.

I just found this video today after spending 3 hours laying under my truck trying to get the abs sensor out saved my day thank you
I did this trick and a combination of others to get the sensor out tonight in my wife’s 2011 Acura MDX… thank you SO much. Your tips helped and got me in the right direction!
Dude where are those videos?? .... You guys are the best and laid back dudes out there.....

Good to hear from you Doug. Glad to hear you've been busy doing real man stuff like providing for the family. Priorities...
Thank you so much! I was about to go buy a knuckle, from the junk yard. I had tried using a screw, but didn't think of heating it. Took me 10 seconds.

I just had this bust off on me. Your video was the first one that came up and it worked like a charm. Thank you sir.
Thank you for the video. I have to replace my ABS sensors and glad you put out this video.
Good luck bud!
I hope your mother enjoy the drive and thank you for the helpful tips so I can try to takeoff the ABS sensor on my Nissan Pathfinder, which is going to be a nightmare but thank you and please drop some more videos

Didn't thought about the cooper interference to the sensor. I guess wires are accounted for.
Would use silicone!
This worked like a dream!!! Really saved me lots of time and messing around on a cold and windy UK day!!
Thanks just been replacing abs on my daughters car and it snapped found your video and it worked a treat. Thanks
Glad to know you’re alive and kicking.
Yea bud. Should be back to semi regular until winter when I will have tons of time
Just employed this on my FX35. ABS sensor was stuck in the exact same way. Pretty much did the same thing, but already had the wheel hub out, so I pushed mine out, instead of pulled. Used a screwdriver, torched it, shoved it in there, and hit it with a hammerer till it came out.

Yay! Glad to see ya back in action! What year/model was it?
Thanks! That is an 09 Grand Cherokee with the 3.7. I am rebuilding it a bit for my mom to use as a daily
Worked like a charm.i just done it, although i used a dremel to clean out the hole and blew mine out wth a compressor
Man, you just save my day! It worked on my Toyota yaris! Thank you very much.
Wow. This is way better than drilling it out and taking a chance that the drill might damage the hub or abs 'toothed ring'. Thanks
Thanks!!!! Saved me from taking the hub apart!!!
Heated the screw and used an electric drill to screw it in!!!
Yay!! Buddy Buck, Douglas is back Jack...👍👍💪😁👌
Yes sir! I have had a heck of a year in my personal life, but I am hoping this will be the beginning of a return to normalcy. Thanks for not forgetting me!
Confuzled loved it from dirty NY.... going to try tomorrow am to get the broken sensor out.
Thanks - Steve
Thank you sir, you saved my butt way up in Saskatchewan!!!!
Worked on cars but first time changing an abs sensor. Was stuck and broke. This helped greatly.
great suggestion, going to try this before digging deep into the wheel to get it out. Thanks!!
This is helpful I'm about to tackle my Right Rear Sensor. ABS light has been on for 6 months.
like your videos and your sense of humor, I live in new york on long island so I know what you mean when you speak of the rust belt .
Had the exact same issue on a 2008 wrangler, and this did the trick i did have to do it twice but it eventually came out with some persuasion
Thank you 🙏 it worked perfectly the way you described, but I put the new one on and it still had all the lights on? Do I have to disconnect the battery or drive it for so many miles or should the lights, abs, traction control, stabilizer, go off automatically once I plug it in???

Thanks for the tip, had the same thing yesterday wished I had seen this first.
Yeah I had the same problem 6 months ago on my wife's jeep junk Patriot. Cordless drill and wood screw pulled it right out.
I just tried the same thing and the screw broke and now I really am at a loss for words lmao.
Lol same thing
Yo dougy! Great seeing you in action! Thanks for the shout out buck! Time for a BBQ soon! 💪
Yea bud. 100%. I have been way off the grid figurin’ on some stuff, but I am working my way bad in to society. Haha. I need to catch up on your fleet of project bud. Let’s talk soon
@@DEInTheGarage absolutely 💪
Greetings from Ontario.
Thank you man for the advice that works awesome pulled out like butter! Send yours and my video to my previous "mechanic".
Thanks again 🙏🙏
Awesome thank you for saving my weekend. Worked just like the video. 😊
Nice one, mate! Cheers from Norway
Thank you very much. I'm doing my son's Murano this weekend.
Hello again. Nice fix.
Hi bud. Thanks!
You’re really freaking smart! Thank you so much! This method worked great for me. Saved my life. Thank you!
This helped me alot I'm going to give it a try soon cuz the same thing happened to me. you say that a broken sensor can cause shifting problems? That's definitely happening to me
Cool. Never seen this before. Amazing that plastic sticks to metal.
Nice trick, much more brilliant than the drill bit way.
This is a great trick. My speed sensor broke in half and i couldnt figure out how to remove it from the wire harness end. Futzed with it for quite a while before seeing this video. I did this and it worked.
Also loved the accent. You should be on tv.
Amazing! Thanks for that handy idea. You saved my day.
Thanks for the info 🛠️ worked great on a Honda
Oh what a glorious tip! Saved me a lot of time, thank you! 🙏🏻
Tapping that sensor in is a horrible idea, The correct way would have been for you to actually clean the rust and debris out of the hole, Then apply a little grease to the new sensor before installing!
How does one go about doing that without clogging the tone wheel?
Many thanks for the saver tip. I couldn't get the screw tip red hot, only hot enough to enter and ease the broken stuck body out.
Thanks man! That totally safe my butt.. liked and subscribed. Broke off a rear sensor on a 08 silveradeo
Do another Jeep history/fixing the Jeep lineup video while your in your way to work!
Great video and tip for removing stuck abs sensor.
Very nice.. creative Enginuity at it's best.. good job!!
wow - nice work....doing mine and it won't come out and I don't want to force it it because it might break off like yours..If it does, Now I know what to do..Thanks
Just tried this and it worked perfectly!!
Thanks for the video
We're have you been.new job??
That is exactly it! I started a position in a completely new industry and had to apply myself 100% if I wanted to make the cut. I am hoping to be back now, though
Thank you! Saved me a real pain in the balls of taking off a rusty hub 🎉
mate your a life saver , i have exactly the same issue gonner try this
I have this same issue on a VW Jetta, thanks for the tip!
Thanks there’s no other repair videos for this
Great! I need to remove one in my Honda and I know it will break. What type of torch? Propane, map? I also live in good old NJ.
You sir just earned a new sub this was great 😂 thanks for the help bud
Worked like a charm, thanks!
Hi I’m have having my left front right rear brake locking up I did calibers the brake lines is it an ABS problem
Thanks dude! Saved me some time on my weekend.
8-4-24 and still passing good knowledge along
This guy is my spirit animal
With this method worked for me the rust was so bad around the top of the hole I had to drill it all the way out until I hit the wheel bearing
Thanks mate great job!! also a beautiful Charlemagne barbe fleurie.
What a great idea about heating up a screw and burying it into the broken plastic piece.
Our broke off as well - I drilled a small diameter hole in the plastic piece stuck in - gently drove a screw into it and pulled the broken round plastic piece out -
Nice job
Good to see videos again
This was just what I needed thanks man 😅
What do i do if the Bolt got out holding the sensor but the threads are stripped in the hold? any ideas? weld a bolt in there?
Can you drilling out and tap it the next size up. Enough meat there to take a larger fastener?
@@DEInTheGarage Having a hard time drilling it out, not sure what type of drill bit to use. The knuckle is cast iron.
@@DEInTheGarage Yes lots of space but hard to drill in the Knuckle
Man thaks for this tip I have to removed a cube speed sensor ..
This is the reason why I moved to Arizona.
No rust !
I dig it bud, but don’t your dashboard melt and seat belt buckets dole out 3rd degree burns??
Just kidding bud. I have heard AZ is awesome. I certainly have zero love for Jersey outside of it being home.
Love it thanks for the tip. Will finish the job now!!
Any ideas if the screw broke due to rust and not the sensor
did you clean the hole out before installing the new one?
Thanks for the tip, a real time saver
Love your trick! Good job.
In my case the ABS sensor's electrical plug side is stuck connected to the bus cable. How to unstick that?
lmfao....." I can't believe that worked" Thanks this was super helpful. Liked and subbed.
Thanks for the video. This saved me!
oh that is brilliant! could have used this method last night lol. ended up just drilling
Good man! Helping mothers out.

Absolutely genius! Thanks so much!!
Why not melt the plastic all together?
ingenious idea, hopefully save me from drilling. Thanks!
What a legend, I thought I screwed up big time
Thanks man, you saved my ass. Worked like a charm!
And we missed yours Jeeps videos
I literally just broke one off and here I am
