In the middle of the episode there were super important 2 seconds that if you think about it, do not make sense, but thats actually very important because thats first very important clue to whole story of the show :) Just requires some good attention to story
Evil Morty was downloading the memories of Ricks and then executing them one at a time until Rick stopped him. He then hid within the other Morties once discovered. With regard to the Marvel influences, it swings back and forth. They definitely take jabs at Marvel and occasionally parody or praise stuff from the MCU. It makes sense, the Russo brothers were directing Community for Dan Harmon before getting their chance to work for Marvel. Dan’s done some punch up for at least one of the MCU movies. However, Rick and Morty were playing with the multiverse well before Marvel. Many writers have left working with Dan Harmon on R&M to go write for Marvel. Including the folks who wrote Loki and Ant-Man Quantumania, the two biggest multiverse story-lines in the MCU.
