Best video yet!! Rick looked so happy at the cooking class and I loved all those little dishes with the bright colors. I am making so many tiny bowls right now and that was very inspiring. I think my kids would go crazy for those smoothies. This is the motivation I need to save for retirement!
@@threelittlepotters Hi Sarah! The smoothies are so delicious! The dishes were just hard plastic, but it would be next level if they were your ceramic homemade pottery bowls. That would be really special! 😊
That dinner looked so yummy!
Under $45 spend for the whole day- that is fantastic ❤️
@@brendamichals4376 The food here is amazing! So delicious. 😋 The cost for everything is so affordable! ❤️
Wow, that food all looked so amazing! The fish especially looked delicious. Thanks for taking us along with you on your day out. Tracy and I are looking forward to your next video! Have fun 😊
@@tonymodrono5953 Thanks Tony and Tracy! That fish is Rick’s all time favorite! 😊
I look forward each week to your new videos. This one was so much fun for us to watch especially since I got to try your favorite coffee place and it was one of favorites in Chiang Mai. The cooking class looked so good and lots of fun. I must know if you continue to make the dishes on your own!! When we try it’s never the same 🙂↕️ so more the reason for us to spend time in Thailand for the cuisine!! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!!
@@mariecastello8357 Thanks Marie! They did give us a cookbook to take home with us… I can’t imagine anything we would make it home would be as delicious as what it was there. I’m sure we’ll give it a shot at least once though. Give Chris a big hug from us! 😊
We loved this video ….what a fun and exciting place. Cooking classes , food, smoothies all our favorites!….could almost taste the pineapple/ shrimp and fried fish dishes. Thank you so much for sharing.
@@KarenYouncke-hj9xu Hi Karen! Thanks for the kind words! We are really loving it here! 😊
Love it! We’re trying to do either market tours or cooking classes in each country we go to so we can identify some of the produce we’ve never seen before and get ideas for what to cook in our airbnbs. And its amazing how far your budget will stretch in Thailand!
@@Midlifewanders Hi Ailie! We have never done a cooking class before and I’m so glad we did! Your strategy makes great sense! 😊
Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to get to Chiang Mai! 😊
@@debbiekirby468 We think you will love it there Debbie! 😊
This was really fun to watch :) The night market looks fantastic!
@@freetowandernow The night Market was one of our favorite places! 😊
Such an amazing video! Thanks for the tip on Travel Spend! I recently used it on my trip to Austria! The prices in Thailand are killing me!!! Ice coffee for $1.00? I just spent $7.81 for a cafe Latte today in California! No wonder retirees are moving to Thailand. Healthy eating on such a great budget. Thank you so much for sharing your day. Love your videos and I’m always excited on Mondays cause I know I’ll get to see a new one.
@@robinfrazier79 Hi Robin! Rick will be happy to know that you used it on your trip to Austria! He loves that app! ☺️ The prices in Thailand really are incredible and the food is delicious and so fresh! Thank you for your kind words! 🤗
Rick looked like he was having a blast in the cooking class; that pool is beyond amazing-did y'all swim an entire lap?; great budgeting and without effort-just living your life. Kudos!
@@nncadi1 He was having a great time! 😂 That pool was so beautiful! We swam for sure, but there are “sitting walls” throughout the pool that stop you from being able to go beyond them without hopping over them. Which was fine by us, we just wanted to laze when we were out there. 😎☺️
Oh man, this super video makes us miss Chiang Mai even more.. what a great day! You can’t beat 20 Baht fresh fruit smoothies.. Btw, you guys are not old, just experienced..😉
@@chriscastello3922 Those smoothies are sooo good and such a bargain! We had to stop ourselves from drinking our body weight in them each day! Thanks for the kind words! ☺️
Well done 👍 Thanks for sharing all this.
These excursions make sense to do. My wife and daughter would love the cooking class.😊
I would just cook meat 🍖 😋 with no seed oils.😉🥩
@@livingworkingoutsidebox The excursions we went on here were both fantastic and totally different from each other. Meat is plentiful here! You would be so happy at any of the Night Markets!
Another great video! Thanks for sharing!
@@Jruss508 Thanks!! 😊
Looking forward to our visit this summer
@@2TravelWithoutOrders We are so excited for you both! Can’t wait to follow along on your adventuress there! ❤️
Really enjoying the videos…. First time in a Baht Bus??? Song Taos and TukTuks (especially the negotiations) are part of the charm of Chiang Mai.
@@pauljacobs4302 Thanks Paul! 😊
That hotel has an amazing pool as you know. I stayed there last August. I took a different cooking class, which was very similar to what we cooked. Safe travels.
@@JohnW-ef4qh That pool really is incredible! Thanks John! 😊
Super fun. Daffney, you are so beautiful. Have a wonderful time. You both look so so so happy. I think you were made for traveling in SEA. 💗🙏🏽🇵🇷
@@IramisandGerry Hi Iramis and Gerry!!Thank you! We sure are loving it here in SE Asia! Hopefully, we will get to Puerto Rico sometime in the near future! ❤️
if you do, you know where to find a house… it will be ready in 12 months 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🙏🏽🇵🇷💗
@ That sounds fantastic!!! ❤️
Khoi Soi is so gooood!
@@GaryMalcolm Gary, it was delicious!😋
Oh man, you guys are making me want to go back to SE Asia! I have it on my list for 2026 but you are reminding me why I like it so much. I can't wait to hear what you think of Vietnam, as I found it equally as inexpensive with very good food (but not as many smoothies!) I think you will also like the coffee there. Happy travels!
@@TheWalkingThomasGuide We really are loving it here! Good to know about the smoothies, we will be sure to fill up on them before leaving Thailand! Any excuse to have a couple more!! 😂 Can’t wait to try the Vietnamese coffee!
Your plans for this year sound great!! ❤️
That cooking class looks like a lot of fun .
@@jennym3966 Hi Jenny! It really was. The group of people we were with were great which made everything even better! We laughed and ate great food. I don’t know if I could re-create it, but we sure had fun while we were there! 😊
Wow! Teleport me to Chaing Mai! 😃
@@clairek9398 It’s wonderful! ❤️
Another wonderful and informative video... thank you!!!
@@janenicholls111 Thanks Jane! 😊
Welcome to Thailand everyone
@@Chaichanaxxx Thanks! 😊
Hi Again! loved this video especially because we will be in Thailand in 10 days and have a 3 night 4 day adventure in Chang Mai. I was especially surprised and happy for the two of you that you got to enjoy your day with a BIG blue sky. We have been receiving reports that when the local farmers burn their crops it can be smoky and air quality is poor. One last question?- Where is your accommodation located?
Hi Tracey! Yes! Blue skies! 😊 We stayed at the Astra Sky River.
Yeah, you said it all, needless to say why we'll be retiring to Chiang Mai...Dollar goes so much further in Thailand than in the US...nowadays groceries for 2 are between $800-$1000/month and that's a pretty much a minimum, no filet mignon anymore, which is $10 more expensive per lb. than just a few years ago. Eating out is at least $80 for two with taxes and tips, thanks but no thanks. Nice video again, thanks!
@KyleSwilley Hi Kyle! Rick and I were talking about the same thing! We could really see ourselves in Chiang Mai long term! 😊
Food market looks really cool, excellent tip on the atm's, it all looks really clean.
It looks super-relaxed, but is there much/any contrast between your pace of life here versus Europe?
How's the climate/humidity?
@@wulfgold The food market was one of our favorite places! Chiang Mai has a busy, but relaxed vibe. I’m not sure how they manage to have the two of those go together, but they do! The weather for the month of January has been fantastic! In the low-mid 80’s and no humidity. But . . . I think the humidity is on its way! 😅
Im Thai, just spend $10 usd a day ❤❤❤❤
@@SAMMotoring That’s fantastic! ❤️
Baby oil at the pool? Please use sunscreen.
@@Randilynn66 Hi Randi! Yes! I do. 😊
Hello Rick and Daphne... what part of Chang Mai are you staying and recommendation link or name of apartment building? Thanks!
@@patriciawest7434 Hi Patricia! The building is called the Astra Sky River and it is outside of Old Town. I am not of the name of the area, but I would call it the Night Bazaar area. 😊
Did you really mean baby oil or was that sunscreen?
