What a great video! Very encouraging that one day my wife and I can take on such a big adventure. You mentioned great key topics and I can see that you are having a great time.Looking forward to the next one.
@@GlobalNomadsTravel I’m so glad this was helpful. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Night Bazaar and about a 25 minute walk to the old town. We really enjoyed our time there!
Well . . . You do have the absolute best coffee we had the entire time we were in Chiang Mai! ❤ Also, we feature your coffee stand even more in next week’s video. 😊
Hi Daphne-in planning our trip to Thailand, I’ve come across several posts about people experiencing hair loss after spending months in Thailand. The most common explanation is due to their hard water (heavy iron). Wanted to mention to you since you take good care of your hair which looks amazing!
@@Kari-Evan Hi Kari! I’ve seen that also. I’m living in denial right now. 🫣 😬 So far, it’s been okay. Fingers crossed it stays that way! Strangely, the water in England did affect my hair. I haven’t heard anyone talk about that, but the water in England did make a noticeable difference when we were there pretty quickly. It left a residue and my hair was falling out terribly. I really hope that doesn’t happen here… But I have heard the same thing. 😅
@@RetiredNomadAdventures only solution people mentioned was purchasing a showerhead filter but that doesn't seam doable for monthly stays...my hair is already thin, can't afford to loose any more so I'm planing on washing less frequent with bottled water, using a dry shampoo in between. Hope you both don't have a problem.
@@mjbalmmac1588 So far I would compare the climate to that of Southern California. It’s been dry and we haven’t experienced any humidity. I know I should say yet, because I do think humidity is coming our way at some point but so far the weather‘s been ideal. ☀️
Excellent video guys! Lots of really good, well organized information presented in a relaxed style. Is Chiang Mai a place you would consider for a longer term stay, i.e. going full ex-pat there? I understand the burning/smokey season can create a bump in the road for some considering longer term living in Chiang Mai.
@@Leonardo-cq4zd Hi Leonardo! We have specific criteria we look for in a place to determine if we could do a longer term stay there. Longer term for us really means three or more months at a time. Thailand is always #1 on our list! Might be a bit bias since my wife was born in Chiang Mai 😊Soon we'll retire there and start our slow travel. Nice video again, Thanks!

Hi Rick and Daphne, we are almost retired and contemplating how we want to go about our world travels....sell our house or keep it and travel 1/2 the year. Our question for you is if you plan to travel full time for 3 years, do you plan to return to California and purchase another house or rent once your "full-time" travel is done? How much of your furniture and belongings did you store in anticipation of returning to the states in 3 years? We're afraid if we sell everything we would be buying all new stuff once we return to the US to settle down. Thanks so much!!
@@bradwilliams4481 Hi Brad! Those are all great questions! Those are questions we asked ourselves before we started this adventure. It’s a good thing there is not a one-size-fits-all method for this. 😅 For us, we gave everything away or sold some of the larger items with the house. We do plan to settle back down somewhere, we don’t know exactly where just yet. We are waiting to see where our kids settle and then we will probably buy something wherever they are. As I’m writing this we are laying on a beach in Phuket… Life feels really great right now! 3 years is the timeline we said we needed to do this in order to make selling everything we owned, “worth it” , but beyond that, we are going to keep doing this as long as it’s fun. Keep us posted on how you end up deciding to move forward. 😊
