It's underrated because hardly anyone ever talks, or has even heard about it. It's a rare gem and anyone who hasn't played it should give it a try, so it's not really a bad comment. But seriously though, it's a great game that I always have fun playing no matter how many times I replay it (I'm currently on my like, 6th or 7th replay already).
I find it funny that I've done my first playthrough of this game after 13 years of waiting to get the game and even though this song wasn't used in the demo much compared to the full game it is one of my favourites pieces of music in the game, same with boss theme 1 and Dart's theme. Game music is the most underrated genre/music and most normal people can't grasp it. My friends thought I was weird for only listening to game music all day ^^ while they listened to Radio mainstream. Only a true gamer can appreciate this I guess! This game is 10/10 I still remember the struggle and joy and the good OST's this game brought, one of a kind !
It's called Sachet. You can find it in a chest before fighting the beast in helena. Those sachets can befound almost everytime you go to fight a major boss like the virage
We lost disk 2 of ours for a while. I chose to just grind in the black castle before doel (got every one to about lv 32 with lv 5 dragoons). While my sis just kept starting new games and desided to hunt them stardust. We found the disk so after thankfully. :)

the music in this game always reminded me of how the music might be in the original Spyro might be if it were sped up i swear old video games had some of the best sound tracks

Try emulating it and pumping up the resolution. It won't suddenly make the graphics less blocky, but it helps a bit.
