… There are many good and very good songs in the history of music. BUT Deep Purple's "Child In Time" falls into the category of the BEST masterpieces of all time!! 💎 🎸🎹🥁🎤 Thank you
Ah,ah, I was 16 when "InRock" came out and we found Deep Purple's music a bit "simple". Half a century later, specialists still comment on these classics and I still listen to them in my car between two Babymetals.✌😜✌
Simplicity is the higest sophistication.
Who found their music simple? They are top musicians. That’s why the band hated Smoke on the Water , because it was a simple song. But it became so popular that they had to play it every show.

Perhaps I misspoke. I bought and loved "In Rock" when I was 16 years old in 1970, at that time Deep Purple's music was described as rough by many "specialists", but half a century later the "specialists" have all become very complimentary...and rightly so...times change but Deep Purple doesn't.(fun fact,I live 15 miles from Montreux)
I was only 4 years old when my sister would play this record. Here we are 54 years later I’m 58 bring back great memories
It's a Gibson 335. Sold by Blackmore's ex-wife at Christie's auction. It lives in private collection in CN. The singer Ian Gillan did Jesus Christ Superstar bty. He's trained and has a 5 octave voice.
Thank you for doing this ! I usually recommend people do the studio album version first before they do the live but this one is pretty good. I would recommend when you have a chance to listen to the studio version on your own some time.
Deep Purple 💜 Genios!!
💜💜💜💜💜
1970. Deep Purple paves the road to heavy metal.
He really hits high notes on the studio album version
He hit them even better live in those days. Check out "Made in Japan" f.e.
You're one of the only ones who comments on Gillan doing that to the camera. Cracks me up. Gillan said on the nights he told the guys his voice was'nt up to doing this song that Blackmore would play it anyway, so he'd sing it.
I came here from your reaction to The Warning Animosity. Many will tell you that they started in this era, then gradually the music faded. Until The Warning. I was 13 years old when this was new. Three years later, I saw DP and LZ four months apart. I’ve seen them four times since. Set for life. Lost interest in the eighties. Deep Purple MkII (this lineup) is the gold standard for this band’s lineups. I encourage you to continue to react to live music.
He is definitely singing falsetto on those highs
Nice reaction- the appreciation for raw talent is a lost art :)
Big Ian G best rock singer along with Robert Plant of Led Zep for me. Incredible vocalist
lol Robert plant ronnis james Dio the goat with Gillan
Great Reaction. Jim Morrison goes up to the camera like that on The Ed Sullivan Show.
This is hilarious. Babymetal fans want live, and apparently old classic rock fans want studio. Shows how polar opposite everyone is. I pick the lives so there's some movement in the video instead of a static album cover. But this is a bit too obvious a result of folks suggestions. Guess we are goin studio...
Us silver tops like album version better because live versions quality of sound only got real good in the eighties
Great song from Deep Purple, after checking them out further follow the lead guitarist to his next band called Rainbow. Ritchie Blackmore formed the band with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. The song "Stargazer" is a must listen, if you are not familiar with it... just an epic song.
Ian came from musical family all natural singer 5 octave range
Made in Japan version he gets it higher than both studio and this version.
Someone else suggested that song as well. I added it to our voting system. I, myself cant VOTE up a song so if you want more of a chance for me to react to it youll need to run over to our Discord and vote it up. Thanks for the suggestion!
Try to listen to the one in "Nobody's perfect" 😉
I agree with @reallymysterious4520 that studio performances of this era have better audio fidelity, although this particular video is quite excellent! Maybe you like the organ because it "takes you to church"?? Ian Gillan's vocals are impressive! David Coverdale did a GREAT job as a future replacement. I'll save requests for my graduation from Discord School...
Lol, I didn't care for the organ in my church... Parshally because I was the organist for a period in my church and i was terrible at that. Lol!!! I think the reason I like it is because in church it felt like a funeral... In this music it's a celebration. I didn't know how to translate my appreciation for hyms into the organ in a way I felt was like what is shown in this music. So I appreciate organ much more in this format and in orchestral format over church format. :0)
@@LegacyStudio I prefer the piano. Organ = Funeral Hadn't thought of that, but I'd have to agree.
@@TeedentoddoTV I looooove piano, especially with some reverb and delay that just makes it... Etherial.
Do the made in Japan version it’s live and kicks this big time
Last round with ES 335 for Richie
This is not a criticism but a serious question. Only US reaction channels invoke the “fair use” clause of a 1976 law. But they are claiming “fair use” on the internet, of material which may or may not be American in origin. Therefore it seems reasonable to assume that the law in question, enacted in the United States prior to the invention and widespread use of the internet surely carries no weight. I understand the non monetisation aspect, but that doesn’t mean that it guarantees that foreign copyright holders could override it. Obviously in many cases they do, and obviously they are the beneficiaries of any revenue.
Im not entirely sure how this is a question... But, yes anyone can pull this video from youtube if it is their original content and they have the right. We will support them in that should they choose to do so.
@@LegacyStudio the gist of my question was “does the law really apply in the internet age”? It’s American law, not international law.
It's sad that Deep Purple's most well known song is Smoke on the Water when this one is so much better
Smoke is an excellent song. If you really listen to it, I mean other than the riff.. Gillan’s vocal tone and the way he sings it also paice’s drum fills are phenomenal, Blackmore’s solo as well along with Roger Glovers base throughout.
Honestly, burn is my favourite Deep Purple song!

Shame the music industry doesn’t always people. To make music like this anymore. Even worse don’t sign bands.
