Thank you! You have no idea how helpful this video is. I'm taking Statistics this semester, and I've been avoiding creating box plots, but after watching this video, it is very easy. 💗💗
Phenomenal understandable explanation, as well talking about the important numbers attached to this data. You're the GOAT!
Amazing simple explanation. I like how you showed the other functions that deal with quartiles and all of that stuff.
Thanks Gabrial
Clear and no fluff tutorial - it's true! Lengendary!!! Awesome vid. Thank you.
Refreshing video, straight forward and answered all my questions simply and precisely.
Thanks for the fantastic video; it really helps my students understand the Box Plot.
Well explained. Short and crisp. It saved me a lot of time. Thank you very much!
Very straight-forward and simplified explanation. Thanks Steve!
Exelent video, it went straight to the information I was looking for (what is a box plot) and even explained further (what is a quartile etc)
Thank you brother. You saved me in the last hours of my Graduate, Statistics Class. I just subbed👍🏾
Excellent presentation. I think this is the simplest video explaining Box Plot. Thank you..!!
Helpful. Straight forward. Good examples. Excellent tutorial. Apprecaited.
Fantastic way to explain and teach. Thanks a lot Steve!!
Well explained and exactly what I needed, thank you so much!
Well done. Very clear and easy to follow. Thanks a lot
You just save my life.. Thanks so much...Nice explanation..
Amazing teaching skills. Made my life easy. Bless you mate
This King is really about to help me pass my Data Analysis final
Wonderful explanation! Thank you!
!!!! So detailed! THANKS A LOT!
Damn thanks for the tip at the end with the labels on the axis...been struggling hard with this. Can't believe they haven't fixed this problem yet since years already...
Thank you. I came here specifically because I couldn't get the labels on the x-axis. I was about to convert my data to a list with categories in the first column, as you show, but thought, no, that's crazy; there must be a better way. You confirmed that there is not! Thanks.
Same here I was desperate to find out a way, turns out there’s no way😭
Excellent video! Thank you !
Understandable and knowledgeble✊✊
Best explanation I've come across 👌
great work. well done👍
Explained Beautifully
Awesome video. Thank you so much, sir!
Thank you so much, it helped me a lot with my diploma thesis, where I want to interpret my NASA TLX data via Box plots.
very useful tutorial. thanks Steven
Awesome! Thank you!
Very simple wonderful explanation
Nice video. It helped me a lot. Thank you sir !

Great video ❤ thank you
Excellent!
it is very simple and interesting thanks a lot Steven
Thank you Steven
Keep up the good job!
This was so helpful…😊
It is a very good video. many thanks!
That was a great video thanks steven, I have a solution for your problem, now if you go to the + sign on the right side of the box plot, there are multiple things you see, and in there, at last, there is a row called a legend, when you click that, you can easily create legend without stacking the cells like this.
Really Good, Thanks
Very useful thank you sir
Best explanation
Excellent. Thank you so very much
Very welcome
thanks man
so very excellent tutorial, special thanks dear
Very welcome
Thank you! Saved me from going mad doing my last assignment!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much
i love you for saving me....
😭😭
THANK YOU!!
You're welcome!
very great :)
So many channels try to explain excel but your videos are the most understandable and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you
Thank you for the video. Do you know how to change color of a single box plot (formatted like the last option of this video..)? Or perhaps change the distance between boxes in the previous format.
Very useful. Can you include how to include dots for the values plotted
thank you .
Hi, I cant' see 'statistical chart' on mine... Do you know how I could find it? Many thanks
It has been 2 years now so a lot has changed and maybe it was added in a recent update but if you create a box plot, click on the plot data go to the top left corner, and select the little arrow near quick layout, it gives you the ability to input horizontal and vertical axis.
¿Hay manera de agregar los datos de la gráfica en una tabla debajo de la misma de manera automática? o tienes que hacer los cálculos con fórmulas como los hiciste en el video?
Thanks
To change the Legend names, select the graph and click "select data" under chart design. In the legend entries select your data series and then click on edit in the toolbar. This will allow you to change the series name in your legend.
I've tried this and unfortunately doesn't change the legend on the X axis :(
Super

After you make the plot with ordinary column name like the first one, and then right click on the graph then select data
There is switch button in the middle, click it
see if it works
I hope you can answer my question soon because I'm on a deadline and I never used excel before but how do I manually represent the mean lower upper quartile median etc for group 1 and 2 of the data set?
Hello sir
Thanks for your clearly explanation
I have a problem with boxplot
When i use twi differents types of data
That is To Say, quantitative and qualitative data ( geology data the grade of AU and Rock types)
Superb and simple explanations,,would you kindly upload the video how to do a histogram chart
Thanks! Does this help: ruclips.net/video/1sLJxwxR8jc/видео.html
lets say i have a data set that is exponential, but i linearize the set. is it better to do this box test on the exponential set or the linear set?
Hi, for outliers, if I e.g. there is an outlier, but i would like to put the amount 'inside' my diagram rather than presenting as a outlier, what should be done?
Thanks for the amazing tutor and explanation..but I have some issue..my data is differences(Target 0) Range: -7 to +7...its not showing the same...Please send me simple intruction how to calculate this..thanks...
How have you grouped the group in the 2nd chart all you typed manual in excel sheet
After drawing the box plot, how to re-distribute the data with variance?
Hi, I found an easy way on how to get the labels on the X-axis. Just go to chart design --> add chart element --> legend --> then just simple choose the last option where the legend is switched onto the x-axis instead of the side of the chart in your video.
Thanks for the tip Pieter!
Thanks for this. But I realised it only puts the legend at the bottom but it doesn't really label the x-axis.
I dont have excel 2016, how will I create tht box whisker graph because my excel lacks tht option
How to add labels...?
Where is the 30 value came from, can you explain how you get that value for me ?
Thanks for video. With the final method you demonstrate, how do you change the colours of the boxes?
To create legend entries in Excel 2019 select the column headers including the data which may be arranged side by side. Limitation: Excel doesn't support more than 7 boxplots side by side in a single graph.
Thanks
Unless you create them manually with stacked columns....
Mine only supports 3 😭
@sharlasmith7728 how do you do this!? I'm struggling to get 4 in a row!
ok so how do you make excel not have an outlier and actually plot a boxplot with every point included and the final mean, IQR, Q1 and Q3 that takes the so called outlier into consideration? i would like to make a box/whisker plot that has the whiskers include the outlier points.
Lower and upper limit comes in minus?is that ok?
What if my data is in a frequency table? How to plot?
Have a doubt!!
When you added a new value to the dataset, which is 30 here, wouldn't the min value change from 45 to 30???
Hi, I just wanted to know one thing that why 30 is not considered as minimum value but an outlier?
where did he get the 1.5
I like your accent too
where can we find the Box Plot if we have microsoft office under 2016?
I can't add the outliers, the data is just added to the chart itselft.
What is the benefit of excluding the median? I don't understand this inclusive/exclusive quartile formula of excel. Why would you want to lose a data point?
For small sample size, the inclusive method is recommended as the inclusive IQR is always narrower than exclusive one. Also if the median is one of the data like in the odd numbered dataset, inclusive method should be used (ie not to ignore this data) where the median will be part of the Q1 and Q3 calculation.
How to exclude empty cells?
Hi the name of each group of data maybe could be added by editing "Honrizontal (Category) Axis labels" in the "Select Data Source.
Oh sorry I tried this, it didn´t work.
nope, you get a weird box plots...
I have about 10 group to use box but I can’t do it
