It is not against the law to have an RMO or RME under your company to allow operations as a contractor.
I assure you there are plenty of people currently holding this status.

I've been following you for a few years and been trying to get my hvac license and my boss signed off on my work experience, but since covid hit license school been hard to finish. And I was telling my boss about this RMO & RME so I can bypass the testing for now. I'm definitely going to pass this on to him hopefully he'll understand more. 👍👍

@#DROP ANGER 2021 yeah he's the one pushing me to get the license so he can pass his service call to me, The guy is a install company only and can't do service for a dam. And he is willing to pass the calls over and in return help him on his jobs if any problems arise as they do all the time for a cheaper rate. 😆 but I'm just going to wait for this covid to pass to finish up. 🙃

Hey great video I m currently working with a friend who has a plumbing license and Im a general contractor and we are looking to RMO on each license. The plumber has one slot left and we would basically add him to our and vice versa. Can you assist with that and what is the next step? thanks

Not sure if this changed since you made the video. But the RMO can only be associated with 3 licenses in California.
I haven't looked this up recently but haven't seen any changes come down regarding taking RMO from 4 licenses to 3 licenses. Are you might be leaving out the main license that the RMO gets 1st.

You do not have to give 20% ownership to the RMO.
So I'm trying to start my sealcoating and striping business but I dont have 4 years of journey level experience. I got a family friend who is a licensed contractor but does not have a C-32 license. I’m considering an opportunity to take over a small company that does asphalt install. They have a C-27 license. I’m not a contractor, but I wonder if I can partner with an RMO and give them a cut of the revenue generated. Help?
You have the owner stay the RMO for whatever time limit reasonable. During that time you have an employee sign up for the license or reach out to the employess to find out if any of them all ready have a license
@@ConstructionEntrepreneurs ok, so I need to see if any of the folks already there are licensed or have enough experience to licensed and become the company’s new RMO when the owner leaves (and if I find out that none of them can get licensed in a reasonable time, I should probably avoid the opportunity right)
No, remember the owner will and should be in for a period of time to allow you to adjust.

I just got my C39- roofing license in California. Im in the process of my application to open up a corp. I'm confused on how all this works but the smart thing to do is to make myself an RMO right ? I have two brothers and I was planning on adding them to where they can get their own license in 5 years with no exam needed. Does that take 2 slots away from me from the 4?
Thats only if you have them open up their own corporations. If you add them to your corporation no. They will get the 5 yrs experience acknowledgment but you will still have 3 spots open.

how do you actually add an RMO? do you just appoint one or do you have to send in paperwork?
The RMO adds you to their license. You do have to file application.

This is great news.
If someone will become your RMO/RME you do not need to have any experience in the construction industry.
Changing the name of his license is possible but to alway have your own in this situation you would need to setup your LLC on the other license slots he has.
Every person that has a license can open up a total of 4 separate companies, each with its on license number.

It's hard, not possible, to find an RMO for a C classification. Bedt bet is to sign up with a larger RMO agency or post ads on craigslist every month.
