    While most of this is true it usually applies only to fields in Tokyo and Kanagawa. A lot of fields in Chiba allow a lot more leniency on the rules as long as it’s not infringing on the actual laws of japan.

    from a german point of view, those rules and circumstances don't sound half bad, apart from the joule limit and bb weight restrictions. but if everyone uses the exact same power and bb weight, it makes things fair again. i use 0.25g bbs with my marui hi-capa here anyway and it works excellently, so no big deal about that. at recent exchange rate 7000Yen being less than 50€ for a day of playing airsoft in japan is about the same as in germany. you pay 20 to 30€ fee to play on a field and then you get food/drink and cost of bbs and green gas (or 144a for japan probably) on top of that, wether you bring it or buy on site.
    i love the survival game idea. reduces the agressive speed-QB style of players on the field. it suits my preferences for playing more.

    I concur with most of the points. Thing is, Kanto (Tokyo area) isn't that good for airsoft mainly due to the urbanization and difficulty of getting to the better fields. Because if you're in the area, chances of having a car are nil. If you want to have fun doing airsoft in Japan, just skip the indoor scene outright, with one exception I'll mention later. My favorite fields are all in Gifu where I used to live and started the hobby. Rural prefecture, everyone has a car, everything is bigger, rules are way more lax in every regard...except for joules, that's a law. You get a lot more mil-sim type players or at least history/gun appreciators at outdoor fields, which is much more up my ally. I've been to some great fields around Tokyo, specifically Chiba and Saitama, but they're difficult to get to regularly without a car.
    My "regular" field in Gifu was HQ Trad. Fantastic setup. Made to look like a Middle Eastern bazaar with Japanese scenery. Great balance of single-life/respawn games and semi/full-auto games. Gas guns can shoot .25BBs. Best part, Trad has a partner field called HQ Bunker, which is a large indoor field inside an abandoned tool shop. If rain ruins your reservation for Trad, you automatically get shifted to the game at Bunker so you can still play that day. The building is so large, there are no limits on movement. But, BBs are restricted to .20 for everyone and no full-auto. Some things never change, even at the best indoor fields.
    My third recommendation if you're ever in Gifu is Team 6. The field is alongside a literal mountain and contains multiple smaller hills within a decent sized valley area. It's as forested as you can imagine a field can be. The people that go there are the hardcore mission-simulation types. Lots of multi-team and asymmetrical game types. BBs weights up to .30 and no limits on full-auto. Most game types even involve teammate revives. I love those guys. I introduced them to King of the Hill my last game before moving and they loved it. It's a hardcore field that takes a lot of conditioning to get around, but no better field for scratching that hardcore milsim itch. The guys don't take themselves too seriously either. One of the regular snipers wears a predator mask and uses a matchlock. Love those guys.

    Japanese airsoft : "And no throwing the grenades too hard you might hit someone!" American Airsoft : "Alright let's see how hard we can launch this nerf football out of a grenade launcher at a moving truck full of people." If your airsoft field doesn't allow you to drive trucks around, then you're missing out my friend.
    I would never travel to another country just to play airsoft, but if I had to I would choose Europe any day. And if it was between Japan or America, I'm not leaving the states man. We got gun trucks and helicopters. Machine guns that can shoot full auto. We got grenade launchers and mortars, shoulder mounted rocket launchers, no engagement distance on certain weapon types. Increased FPS and BB weight for snipers and DMR's. And the best part? No dumb laws for plastic slides. And no, I'm not talking milsims. This is your normal game of airsoft in America if you goto my field in Bristol Wisconsin. In fact, the entree cost is the same here as it is in Japan. About 20-30$. (4000 Yen) Also kids can play too! So why would I travel somewhere to pay the same price for an experience with less exciting features, and more boring rules? I probably couldn't even get into the country with my gear to begin with. For the birth place of airsoft it really doesn't have much over any other country besides It's spectacular indoor fields. But I prefer outdoor anyways so.
    Nothing says 'Merica like a bunch of middle aged men live action role-playing in the woods. Let freedom ring!

      Also be aware that there is a severe lack of space and infrastructure in Japan for Airsoft. The CQB fields are very small and tight, and it’s very difficult to even move. As a result playstyles have changed and FPS limits don’t matter as much as engagement distances are 10/20m anyway due to map design.

      Meanwhile Russian Airsoft is okay.
      You get full auto in buildings, you get a limit of your gun up to 3 joules if you buy it like that (notice that overtuned guns are common, so you can go absolutely crazy on it)

    My dream is to go to Japan it has been since I was young. I actually have a family friend who was born and raised there and came to the states for university and now lives back in Japan and I have a place to stay but it’s getting there is the expensive part! Also being front the states and playing airsoft in the states idk if I would be able to adjust to all the restrictions you guys have . First of all I only run Gbbrs and my field I have a 30ft engagement but I’m shooting 360 fps with .32 and shooting 1.8 joules . I wouldn’t even know how to get my gun shooting .98 joules or at the very least it would be expensive to buy a bunch of downgrade parts but at the end of the day it would still be an amazing experience that I would love to enjoy even if I had to use a rental . I’m an fascinated with Japanese culture and it’s still my dream to visit one day fingers crossed. I love your videos your a wealth of knowledge and create very entertaining content !

      @@MaydaysanAirsoft Ever thought about getting a true Japanese gun license? You don't need to be a citizen to get it. You just need to be a lawful resident and have a reasonable command of the Japanese language (they only offer the tests in Japanese).
      The skeet and trap clubs for shotgun shooting in Japan are next level. I was stationed in Yokosuka for three years and looked into the process of getting the license (unfortunately the need for Japanese fluency to pass the tests made this a no go for me). Which is too bad, Japanese made shotguns are my favorite.
      Fun fact, the "Citori" and other over under shotguns in the call of duty franchise are based on the over under shotguns made by Miroku in Japan that get imported into the United States by Browning (they get relabeled as Citoris in the U.S.). I have one of these shotguns where I live in Montana and it's my favorite gun to shoot.
      There's a really cool little gun store (the real ones) right outside the main mall in Yokosuka. It’s kinda funny how hpa Airsoft aren’t allowed in Japanese fields, considering the very first (useable) airsoft guns were what we would Call hpa (some JAC m4s and ar18 come to mind)
    I also remember reading (it might not be true) but the limits weren’t always one joule, it used to be however powerful you could get your gun to shoot, so you had people running around with guns that were firing 500+fps as hop up wasn’t a thing yet so flinging them harder was the only way to get range, (thanks god TM invented hop up and everyone realised they could play just under 1 joule and have the same amount of fun)
    I get why there are 1 life games, however I also think for a lot of people it takes the casual fun that airsoft is to a lot of people, I myself just like to causally play it and have a laugh for the day and meet cool people, I’ll never be very good at it and not do I want to be amazing at playing, and I feel like I would be pretty disinterested with the sport if I die in the first 5 minutes and have to wait out ,

    • @MaydaysanAirsoft
      @MaydaysanAirsoft  Год назад +1

      Ah yes, but you become a much better player skill-wise due to limitations. When I finally went to fields where I could move fast, the fundamentals and skills I learned from playing with movement restrictions felt like taking off the "Goku Weights".
      NON HPA also prevents spam playing, overshooting, as well as forced you to think about what and where you're shooting at.

    • @boogityboogity7633
      @boogityboogity7633 Год назад +1

      @@MaydaysanAirsoft If your goal is tactical sure. But I enjoy high speed gameplay and that includes moving fast, sliding etc. it is its own skill set imo. Just as tactical movement is. Overshooting with HPA isn’t a problem if your field is managed well, besides you can achieve the same with an AEG with DSG, or a high torque low gear ratio build. I use HPA with my pistol because of cold weather , and how inconsistent shots are with green gas.

      Japanese airsoft girls in a nutshell:
      -The guy in drag.
      -The sahm mom who duos with husband when not posting mom things she most definitely isn't paying for.
      -The girl who came with a friend. constantly complaining on Twitter or posting pictures of her alcohol. Bonus if search info mentions dead by daylight or Kirby. Sometimes both.
      - girl in abusive relationship with the Japanese guy who gets too drunk and falls asleep, missing matches.dont let her let him drive her home.
      - College guy's girlfriend. Usually rocking the short barrel m4 platform. Will dome you (in the hitottorimasu! Way. Not the Netorare way)
      - works at the field. Fun. If she's against you? Run.
      - the older outdoor camping vet. That cool drunk aunt you always wished you had. Absolute ghost in night games. Probably right behind you.
      I'm sure there are other stereotypes but these are some classics.
