- The Lepow USB Type C Slim Portable Monitor is a great secondary monitor to get some work on. You can use it with a Samsung smartphone with a single USB C cable that will output video to the monitor and power up the monitor. You will be limited to a brightness of 80%.

The Monitor has a refresh rate of 60hz. My camera only records at 4K @ 30fps so the monitor won't look as smooth as it does in person. The IPS panel provides a good viewing angle and good color accuracy. You can adjust a couple of things in the menu settings like the color temperature, the red, green and blue. The monitor also supports HDR.
You can connect this monitor with a MacBook Pro through the thunderbolt port with one single USB c type c cable. It will deliver both video and power to the monitor.

4 months later, how is the Lepow portable monitor holding up?
Works great. Just be sure if you are using it on a cell phone that it has the ablility to mirror. My S7 edge did not so had to upgrade. New Galaxy phone works great with it. Good buy, especially if you can get it on sale.

zephyr black divider's sword yes definitely! No complaints so far and I didnt know I’d need it as much as I do now, since im working from home and dual monitors is a must. I use it for my switch and my macbook pro!
I don't think you need to go from mini displayport to hdmi to mini hdmi, you can go from mini-displayport to usb c, but you you will need your other usb C to provide power. This is one less conversion. USB C only defines a connector, when you say USB C to USB C what you really are saying is Displayport plus power outputed to a ussb C connector. the signalling is Displayport protocol going through a usb C connector. By using a usb C to mini display port or full size displayport you eliminate a conversion for a simpler and better solution.
I feel like noone has been mentioning this is great for college students. almost every student these days have to have a laptop for class and most study in public places in groups. This makes owning a desktop with a multiple monitor setup pointless. adding a portable monitor with my setup during grad school doubled my productivity when doing research

Just connect them to your phone before plugging it in and you should be fine
Could you use this in portrait mode? Does the case let you stand it up like that?
The case doesn't let it stand up in portrait mode but there are holes on the back so you can vesa mount it.

You can only use your finger or a capacitive stylus. One if those with a rubber tip and not an active stylus.

They have an E Ink smartphone called the Kingrow K1.
I’m curious if it will work through a usb C monitor like this. It would keep me from buying a large eReader if it worked.
