I'm glad and grateful that china allows european players to participate in the world's most competitive and best tt league. I know in the past, sometimes china had been reluctant to make its league easily accesible, and there was speculation that it was perhaps because of concern that this could make their foreign opponents stronger, thus threatening china's domination.
I hope team china will let promising players from outside china, men and women, play in its league more and more. The best contribution a country can make to the sport is not just the best native players it produces, but serving as a platform to develop the sport globally and make the whole world better at the sport is also part of it.
I hope truls and future non chinese players can become more competitive and better players via participation in the world's toughest and best league.
Both Fukuhara and Ishikawa played in China's league. I don't think China forbade anyone from entering. If anything it is their own closed up mind the prevent people from joining China's league. For example, when Taiwanese players want to go to Chine, our public screamed TREASON! 🤣

Der TTC Neu-Ulm um Eigentümer Ebert wussten, dass das Verhalten illegal war - dachten sich aber sie kaufen sich mit der Strafe einfach raus. Aufgrund der Spielsperre hat Ebert nach der Runde für den TTC Neu-Ulm keine neue Bundesliga-Lizenz mehr beantragt. Der Verein wird somit nicht mehr auf nationaler Ebene spielen.
"Anfang Januar konnte der TTC Neu-Ulm dank eines beeindruckenden Auftritts seiner Spieler Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Truls Moregardh und Lin Yun-Ju beim Pokalfinale noch für positive Schlagzeilen sorgen. Gut einen Monat später stehen die frischgebackenen Pokalsieger wieder im Fokus - diesmal ist der Anlass allerdings weniger erfreulich. Wie die TTBL am Freitag mitteilte, wurde Truls Moregardh mit einer Sperre für zehn Spiele in der Saison 2023/24 und einer Vertragsstrafe in Höhe von 10.000 Euro belegt. Als Grund wird ein vorsätzlicher Verstoß gegen die Lizenzbestimmungen der TTBL angegeben: Der Schwede hatte am 31. Januar für den Verein Eslöv AI BTK gespielt, obwohl sein Lizenzvertrag mit der TTBL Sport GmbH noch galt und er danach nicht für einen anderen Verein hätte spielen dürfen. Und auch Lin Yun-Ju dürfte bald Post von der TTBL erhalten: Der Taiwaner spielte am Wochenende in der japanischen T.League, obwohl auch er noch einen gültigen Lizenzvertrag mit der deutschen Liga hat.
Wechsel nach Pokalfinale nicht mehr möglich
Wie kam es nun zu diesen Verstößen? Neu-Ulm war schon in der Hinrunde personell zweigleisig gefahren und hatte den jungen Russen Lev Katsman, Maksim Grebnev und Vladimir Sidorenko, die zur Zeit nicht international antreten dürfen, Einsätze in der TTBL ermöglicht, während sich das Star-Ensemble Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Truls Moregardh, Lin Yun-Ju und Tomokazu Harimoto vor allem auf die Pokalmeisterschaft bzw. auf die Champions League konzentrierte. Da man das Arrangement mit dem russischen Trio auch in der Rückrunde fortführen wollte, suchte man nach einer Alternative für Moregardh und Lin. „Truls und Lin können sowohl international (WTT) als auch in Schweden und Japan (Liga) spielen“, erklärte Neu-Ulms Vereinschef Florian Ebner vorige Woche in einer Pressemitteilung. „Das war für beide okay beziehungsweise gewünscht. Truls kann in seiner Heimat spielen, und Lin kann ja nicht zu jedem Bundesligaspiel extra einfliegen.“
Zum Rückrundenstart wäre ein solcher Wechsel bei fristgerechter Antragsstellung zum 1. Januar 2023 möglich gewesen, wie die TTBL in einer Meldung auf der eigenen Webseite erklärt. Da die beiden aber beim Pokalfinale am 8. Januar mitspielen sollten, kam Neu-Ulm dieser Termin zu früh. Nach dem Final Four hatten die Spieler bei der TTBL um Aufhebung des Lizenzvertrags gebeten, dies hatte die Liga aber abgelehnt. Mit Moregardhs Einsatz für Eslöv verstieß der Schwede somit gegen die Bestimmungen im Lizenzvertrag, was die TTBL mit besagten Strafen sanktionierte. Das Pikante an der Sache: Die Zehn-Spiele-Sperre verhindert, dass Moregardh - und ggf. auch Lin - die Anzahl an Pflichtspielen absolvieren kann, die für die Teilnahme am Pokalfinale 2024 erforderlich wäre.
Ausstieg aus der TTBL?
Laut einem Artikel der Süddeutschen Zeitung sieht Neu-Ulms Chef Ebner die Verstöße zwar ein, zweifelt aber an der Recht- und Verhältnismäßigkeit der Strafen. Um dies von neutraler Seite abklären zu lassen, hat er die Möglichkeit, das ständige Schiedsgericht für Lizenzspieler hinzuzuziehen. Des Weiteren kritisiere Ebner die Doppelrolle von Borussia Düsseldorfs Manager Andreas Preuß, der zugleich Vorsitzender des TTBL-Aufsichtsrats ist, und den Umgang mit seinen Spielern. Der Klubchef erwäge nun sogar, nach der Saison aus der Bundesliga auszusteigen. Nach Informationen der myTischtennis.de-Redaktion könnte es für den Klub dann in der zweiten Bundesliga weitergehen. Neu-Ulms Start in der Champions League und der Einsatz von Truls Moregardh im Halbfinale in dieser Woche bleiben von dem Konflikt mit der TTBL dagegen unberührt. Man will laut der Süddeutschen auch in der nächsten Saison in der europäischen Königsklasse antreten, selbst wenn man nicht mehr in der TTBL spielen sollte."
Truls' style is so fun to watch. His shots are always full of imagination although sometimes more likely to make mistakes and cost him points. However, his play, I have to say, is way more fun to watch than Ma Long. Personal opinion, most Chinese players' styles, including ML, are very much alike: effective but routine and sometimes boring, which could win them games, but not contribute much to the sport fun. Xu Xin is an exception among Chinese players.

Ittf only count at points earned. It does not count on clothing, style of play, or degree of fun. Winning is not everything, it is the only thing.
And btw, what happen with Xu Xin, I don't watch a match of him during longer time.

That's the thing with Ma Long. He uses the whole game to figure the opponent out, learns their weaknesses, tries how to counter their game. And in set 5, he beats them like they were beginners. He is such a great strategist.
In never showing his a-game during the first sets, nobody can adopt. You can only learn how he really plays in the last set.
