  • Eono advertises their PETG as "tangle free", but it's still possible for any filament to become tangled while you're using it. So here's how you can stop it from ever becoming tangled on your Snapmaker 2.0 A350.
I've not experienced filament tangling on the Snapmaker 2.0 A350 myself yet, so this is more to prevent the problem from ever popping up than to deal with an issue I'm actually experiencing, but I have seen a few people in the Snapmaker Facebook groups posting about filament tangling, so here's my solution.
Eono sent me some PETG to try out so I thought I'd print it with that. You can check out Eono PETG filament on Amazon.
    Buy Eono PETG - amzn.to/3tyfxcx
Download the filament guide STL here - www.myminifactory.com/object/...
There are also a couple of bits you'll need to buy. Namely, PC4-M10 Bowden connectors and some PTFE Bowden tube. Here's a pack containing everything you need to add to the print.
Buy Bowden Tube Kit (US) - amzn.to/3eR05nL
Buy Bowden Tube Kit (UK) - amzn.to/3lDFWmJ
You'll also need a 10mm spanner or adjustable wrench to turn it into the hole and create the threads (they're way too fine to try and print). You'll have plenty of spare M4 10-mm screws to attach it to the top of the Z axis rail.

Looking forward to your PETG settings. I just tried your TPU settings and they work great on myA350.

You should print a steep angle chamfer at the top of the filament guide hole - would make it easier to get the thread cutting started.

It wasn't actually that bad to get it started. The threads cut into PETG quite well. :)

I got some Eono PLA in the same grey the other week and was extremely impressed with the print quality I got from this filament, I guess now I have to get some of their PETG.
Delivered the same day as the PLA was a bag of Bowden fittings and 1 metre of Capricorn, all but the PC4-10 fittings were fine, the PC4-10's were only drilled to 3mm instead of 4mm, I was given a refund for the cost of the order, I wanted the fittings replaced with ones that were manufactured to the correct specs but Banggood wouldn't have it, in case I was sent the faulty ones again, but I wasn't refunded the P&P and ended up having to pay P&P again for an order with a different vendor, but I think I came out on top apart from the massive wait with ordering from China.
I am going to have a go at drilling the PC4-10's to correct spec, I have some wonderful drill bits that come in increments of.25mm and 2mm to 12mm

Oh that's a pain! I was impatient, so I ordered my fittings from Amazon, haha.

Honestly easiest solution I had to filament tangle was just having the roll as high as possible and have the strand run under the roll rather then over never had issues after that

@JohnAldred Hi John. Have you managed to print in PTEG via Cura for the Snapmaker A350? If yes, I would be truly thankful if you could share the profile file and other settings 😊

What do you do for storing all of your filament? Should i make a dry storage box?

I have a 35 litre tub with a lockable lid that I use. I threw 3kg of silica desiccant in it and it holds about 10-12 rolls. It won't dry out filament that's already moist (I use a food dehydrator for that), but it will keep dry filament dry by absorbing humidity from the air before the filament has a chance to. :)

Tried your guide. Unfortunately it isn't great if you have an enclosure. It is too high and the filament is too bent at the home position. If the guide hole was horizontal at the same position or if the whole guide was developed using the Z linear backside screw holes (different spacing than the top) it could work. Thanks for your work.

Yeah, I don't have the enclosure, so I didn't really design it for use with that. That being said, if I were using the enclosure, I'd have my filament outside of it anyway and the potential tangling issue would never really pop up. But I'd have a tube going from wherever the filament enters the enclosure to the nozzle anyway, just to minimise strain.

Flip the spool around, so it feeds from the back it works much better on the snapmaker

    • @JohnAldred

I'm not sure how you mean?

@@JohnAldred rather than the filament coming up and over the spool have it gp back and under the spool into the machine

    • @JohnAldred
      @JohnAldred  Год назад

I'm still not sure what you mean. There's only two ways the spool can go onto the holder and the filament has to end up coming into the hotend from above... Did you watch the whole video? :)
