  • ABS can be trickier to print with than PLA, as it's more demanding on the printer, the environment and printing skills. But on the plus side, ABS is more flexible and heat resistant, while having enough strength, making it a really handy material. Let's give it a shot!

    Wow, this came in when I just finished some ABS print. My support structure failed but the print turned out to be almost alright.

    I haven’t tried printing ABS yet, but my understanding is that on the A350, only the middle of the bed is capable of heating up to the necessary temperature, thereby limiting the size of ABS prints on this particular model.

    Best video you Snapmaker made.. Well I hope you can produce such more informative content... I might suggest adding such videos for how to use on each model of your products because it is hard for beginners to understand most of the concepts.

    I will now try abs... The bed temperature cannot be set higher than 90 degrees for the A350, does this mean the biggest model cannot print ABS as good as the smaller models?...

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  3 года назад

      Hi! You can heat the bed on A350 to over 90℃. But considering the time it will take, we don't recommend it. And since ABS from different manufacturers may vary in material properties, it's possible that some of them can't be printed well on A350 when the bed temperature is under 90℃.

      @@Snapmaker Please can you tell me how long it takes to reach 100 degrees?... I am now waiting 50 minutes to reach 93...

      @@Snapmaker The first attempt failed, it warped and the printhead teared the print loose... So I must go higher than 80 degrees, because that will lower then tension in the upper layers, I suggest... If I cannot go higher is ABS printing possible?... Or do I need to learn something else to print propperly in ABS?...

      @@ShantiSprengers add glue and use a glass bed :)

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  3 года назад

      It took about 50 minutes to reach 100℃ in our previous test. Maybe you could add some glue, as faraz replied, or use blue tape. Another way is to add an enclosure (a simple DIY one will work) to keep a constant environment temperature around your print. Also, the manufacturers might creates a same type of material that vary greatly in properties, due to some minor differences in crafting technology. Some may be as easy to use like PLA, but some are just very difficult to print with😂 If you still can't print well, maybe consider using a filament from other manufacturers.

    Too bad Snapmaker can't ship a working unit to new customers. I've been having problems since September without a resolution. DO NOT BUY!!!
    Edit: Update. I did eventually get my problem resolved 4 months after the promised delivery date.
