- "Ray of Sunshine" is the first lager recipe I ever made. I've made it once before (somehow I ran out of brews to fill the kegerator so I used it as a fermentation chamber that time). I'm so excited to finally have a way to lager that doesn't prevent me from drinking! I got my hands on Craft a Brew's 'Stasis' glycol system. It's a game changer. It can run two fermenters at different temperatures at the same time and it fits on my little table! *Equipment links below!

Another awesome piece of equipment I recently got was the Anvil Forge burner! I'm hoping swapping to propane will decrease my brew day by around an hour.

Watching this as I get excited to try my german pils. It’s finishing up
why are there even any dislikes this woman makes awesome vids!
That squeeze bag technique is ingenious. I’ll give it a try on my next brew 🍻
Total genius, blew my mind, will definitely try this!
Mind blown too. wow
Never even thought of that, this is brillant!
@FloraBrewing I'm going to copy this recipie for my first all grain brew, hope you're well and still brewing!
I just got a glycol chiller too and immediately brewed my first ever pilsner. That's fermenting next to a stout that's now being crash cooled, all in ambient apartment temperature. I swear it's like magic. Looking forward to your video on yours!
I've been struggling with Ferm temperature FOREVER and I feel like all my wishes have been granted now
I'm following you here from Brazil. congratulations on the channel. beautiful beers!
Thank you very much!
Excellent! Love the way you "squeezed" the grain bag and removed it with the stick... very clever!
The best part is that stick is one of the slats from an Ikea bed frame lol reduce reuse recycle!
First time I'm checking in on this channel, top quality on the video and the sound 👌
Excellent! so glad I found your channel! I am a brewer myself and I love beer, do beer reviews, etc...so much fun to watch this! cheers!
Welcome aboard!
You're definitely hitting your stride with these videos. Very concise, great energy, as informative as ever. Keep it up!
I appreciate that! It's definitely a learning curve.
So much love your videos. Cheers keep them coming and keep brewing. cheers.
Thanks, will do!
Hype for that stasis video! Waiting on some grain mail before I get moving on my first lager with it.
I have grain mail coming tomorrow myself lol
Nice! I have a German Pilsner fermenting right now! My grain bill is just the same but with Vienna instead of Munich. Tomorrow I'll start some cold crash, let's see how it finishes. Cheers!
Nice! Mine's been in the fermenter for around 3 weeks now and might end up being there until the end of May! I'm in another state now lol
Flora Brewing It helps with the waiting, though :)
Nice smooth brew day by the seems of it, hope it comes out ok after your time away. Even having a brew dog in the background, look forward to seeing the new chiller.
Hoping to get to editing the glycol video this week!
Awesome video again! Thanks for sharing, love the BIAB method for sure. :-) Cheers
I keep thinking I should make a mash tun but this way is so easy!
Great video , thanks for sharing love
Hey! Great video :) One thing that may make your day easier, a dunk sparge. Yep. So, setup your kettle like you would a normal mash tun, using enough water to get your proper ratio (instead of the full batch volume). Mash as normal. Then use a fermenting bucket filled with enough water (it doesn't need to be hot) and drop your grains in to "rinse" them. Add that water back to the kettle.
I used to do that but it just took more time than it was worth, I didnt see any change in efficiency
@@FloraBrewing I see. Yeah, it won't give you a higher OG usually. Just less having to squeeze the hot bag for a while :) hey, whatever works!
Glycol chiller sounds awesome! I just got Anvil's cooling system - not glycol but stoked to try it out
How'd they do it without glycol?
Flora Brewing it’s pretty much like an immersion chiller and just cycles cold water from my fridge
Very Nice process to rise bag..... you are very dedicate.
Your brewchannel is awesome!! Cheers from Brazil! 🍻
Great video again...You have inspired me to get back into brewing again after 3years... so I need to go to the shed and find my equipment again....🤣🤣🤣
I'm currently getting my neighbor back into it because I keep borrowing all his old equipment. My next video will be VERY back to basics brewing, same BIAB bag though, I brought it up North with me.
Love to see how this turns out. We've got a German pilsner conditioning right now as well. In Scott Janish's the new IPA, he writes that many European hops carry through in the boil very well so first wort-20 min may be more effective than late hopping. I'm gonna compare side by side our early boil German pils to our late hopped/dry hopped Cashmere pilsner. Just yet another thing to experiment with.
The experiment possibilities are truly endless!
Outside brew day your so lucky , in the UK we have limited outside brewdays. Stay safe guys during your lockdown cheers 👍🍻
I'm in Washington state now and it's the same way, I brewed in a serious wind and rain storm the other day, thank goodness there was a patio.
damn girl !! your all setup.. brewin like a champ... Subbed
you make it look easy !!!
Thank you!
I love your trick with the biab rolling it up with a board. I might have to get one with the straps and follow suit. I have a drawstring. That looks a lot easier
I use it to band around my igloo mash tun. If you happen to have one, this method really combines the best features of both. Great heat retention with no stuck mashes. I still have my silver bubble wrap for my kettle. I worked so hard on it, I couldn't stomach getting rid of it
Great video. I am not jealous of your gear at all (I am 🙂)
It's so easy and it really helps get the wort out. I'm considering a mash tun at some point, just have to commit to having another project to deal with haha
@@FloraBrewing BTW. Don't know if you have ever tried one, but I just did it my last batch. A hot scotchy. Basically, a cup of wort with a little shot of scotch (I use Evan Williams bourbon). I don't know why it is delicious, it just is. Highly recommend!
Great video! Love the energy! I look forward to seeing the result and if you're going to do a stasis video too!
Hoping to get it out soon, just gotta edit it this week!
Method to pull out the bag. True life hack!!!
I saw you use a plate chiller, you should try the exchilarator for easy cleaning
Yeah I've been thinking about getting something new.
Top brew day just subbed cheers happy brewing.
Thanks for subbing!
Can you try making saison beer ?
You are an artist..
🍺🍻
I used to paint too lol
Hi Flora Brewing. Did you start with RO water for this recipe? Thanks and great video!
I did and adjusted with the salts to get a German Pils profile
Hi,
Wow thats great
Perfekt Brew, nice Recepty
I think i brew it like your Recepty in my Grainfather 😁👍

Hello :) How this pilsner turned out? I'm plannig to do same recipe but I don't have munich malt. Do you have any additions or suggestions? Should I decrease acid malt?
I love it! You can use just straight pilsner, it should still turn out great.
great, greetings from belgium
Hello there!
Beautiful hair😮😍....nice work, girl!!🐸😋👍...from Brazil
Can't wait to see the result!
Great video. Love German pils. Cashmere and Northern Brewer were a interesting choices, you "Americanized" the German pils - I like it! Question is there anything you do or need to do to ensure great head retention in your end result? I'm always amazed at the head retention German brewers get. Interested in your results.
I wrote this recipe I think 2 years ago and just rebrewed it without any change. I don't remember having a problem with the head at all but I'm sure it wasnt up to German standards.
How did you move a full kettle up the stairs and onto a counter? Pretty impressive!
With help lol
Thanks for another video. Peace.
YESSSS. Glycol chiller was probably the best single-item investment I've made!
Can't wait until I get to use it more! I kind of set it and forget it this time around
You said it's the Stasis, so you've added a chiller coil for the Catalyst? I ended up going with a Unitank from ssBrewtech for heating and cooling, paired with their chiller.
Awesome! Random question, but what are you normal efficiencies when you're using your Clawhammer System?
brewhouse is around 75% ish
Where is the results?? Do you have a video for that??
I thought you are not supposed to squeeze the grain bill.
I think that's been debunked. There's a pretty good video on the topic somewhere on RUclips
The fear was about greater tannin extraction, but pH and temperature extract tannins, not pressure. Squeeze away!
Brulosophy debunked it here: brulosophy.com/2017/05/22/brew-in-a-bag-the-impact-squeezing-the-bag-has-on-beer-character-exbeeriment-results/
I actually had a mesh basket made for my kettle, would the clawhammer one fit in your anvil?
I think so, I haven't tried though.
Auuuu mi piace sei grande
How far away is the pressure brewing demo?
Well I'm hoping to do an experiment with that this weekend but I'm waiting on some supplies for it
@@FloraBrewing cool will be waiting for your vid and don't be frightened if you do a lager to run the ferment temp at 24-25°C. Plus depending on the rig you are using you can condition the larger in your fridge/freezer at 0-1°C for 2 weeks then clarify (all in the one container) then one done you should have a nice clear lager in about 3 weeks total. Look for me on Facebook with this name and my thumbprint is a brew Keg 👍👍🍺🍺
I have no idea how I ended here...
But I stayed and enjoyed the video :)
Thx.
Tip: when mention temperatures, put a text in the video with the temperature also in Celcius.
+ Sub :)
Thanks for the tip!
In german beer only barley, hops and water.
Where did you get your insulation and what is it called?
Home Depot its called Reflectix. Amazon has it too: amzn.to/3fkUm7r
Thank you
Hi! Where are you from? Cheers from Italy
Los Angeles
@@FloraBrewing ooh Okay! I ve been there 6 years ago in honeymoon
I missed the 1 minute addition of cashmere ,fire the editor. 😊😊😁
herrlich. Grüsse aus Bayern!
I know I'm pretty randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Julius Dexter Flixportal xD
@Leon Kingsley thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I appreciate it !
@Julius Dexter you are welcome :D
Prost from Germany 🍻
Happy Cinco de Mayo. Great Video 📹. Have a safe trip. #STAYSAFE DRINK MORE BEERS KILL THE CORONAVIRUS. 🍻
G PILS WHOOP WHOOP!! hell yeah
0:50 haha almost planned..lol
Once upon a time...…………. back in 1516. ;)
why carapils? I'm curious why you'd be trying to add body. I also see you don't have on your ferm schedule a diacetyl rest. I'd be concerned as most german yeast strains have high sulfur content and lagers have diacetyl issues. Lastly,You really can't call that a german pilsner with your hop choice and schedule... also the carapils.
Tl:Dr just my thoughts.
P.S. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. LET YOUR HUSBAND DRIVE. 🍻🍻
Who do you think does most of the drinking in this marriage lol
