Just be aware that when you go to sell, that when your places gets inspected that the covered louvered doors will cause issues. There needs to be a certain amount of air exchanges for ventilation in utility and laundry rooms. By covering the louvered nature of the door you are removing the ventilation. An inspector isn’t going to take “you can just keep the door open” as an acceptable solution. If you want to keep the covered doors then you will need to make passage way vents for an alternative ventilation source, pretty much a through way in the wall covered by vent grates on both sides. It looks like you have room above the doors so that would be an easy place to put them that also isn’t as noticeable, just make sure you are leaving enough room to not disturb the back framing of the doors.

That's what I was thinking. I was scratching my head the entire time she was covering the slats after she stated the purpose of it. I hope that there is a some sort of ventilation inside.
I guess she's now left with the option of leaving the doors wide open when the dryers are in use and a while afterwards to cool down... But when they're not in use, she can have them shut beautifully, the way she likes it...
Okay I am happy I wasn't the only person thinking this...

I could see them being more appealing in a white or black, something simple and basic that you don't have to match decor to. Love the style of the stairs themselves tho, I hope she doesn't change them too much! haha

Also Megan: Closes Ventilation with large pieces of wood.
Never cut in the middle of two saw horses, this can cause the blade to kickback and cut you.
Megan: so i grabbed these masks cuz ive been doing this all the most unhealthy dangerous way so far

With the black it looks so much more expensive and elegant and I love it!

FOr safey reasons, please be sure to double check the dryers manufacturing settings if you must need a vent. IMO- gas always needs ventts....SAFTEY FIRST WOMAN!

It's amazing how much effort and energy you put in these diys. Because I would have left the minute something went wrong and would just love with that. So these videos are kind of an inspiration too to not give up on yourself so easily.
