    Hi Chikako ❤
This is so cute and cosy to watch ! 🥰😇 I only drew portraits this whole time. This inspired me to make my first comic 🥺🤗

These are really cute drawings!! I'm super into the cute, pretty, and cozy stuff. I draw mainly chibis, but I really want to learn this soft jelly girl types (I don't know if you know what I mean wahahaha). They're these anime style drawings, but more rounded, and softer looking, like jellies. 😂 I'm not good at explaining lol. Anyway, great video!! And I really love your new set up!! 💛

Hehe, yeah, I get what you mean, like sparkling, watery, and kind of like a macaron! (Oh my gosh, our conversation is such an artistic way to explain things, haha😆).
I love being surrounded by cute and cozy things too. My new studio has a lot of space to make it even more welcoming. I recently bought a pack of 7 mysterious plants from an Etsy shop, so I’m excited to receive them and grow bigger, and turn my studio into a jungle!😎🌲
Thank you so much for your support as always! ^^ Have a great weekend 🥰

How fun! I didn't know much about some of the styles you brought up - very interesting! I think this looks like a great practice - I love style-bending! I don't know that I have too many extremely identifying features - so short-hand gets to be a bit more difficult, but it's still fun to try. I've done myself in some comics - oh, going wayyyyy back in high school, even. I'm considering doing a self-portrait every day for a while - different styles and different media... seems like excellent practice. Thank you for the fun video, Chika!

Hey Brian! I'm glad I could bring a new perspective to you!
I'm curious to see your Chibi style, haha. I can't imagine it based on the work I've seen from you 😄.
As a children's book illustrator, I've needed to stick to the same style to provide consistent service. (You know that as you experienced to work for company.) But recently, I've been thinking that maybe I can be more like a frog that can adapt to any environment and any offer🐸
So yeah, experimenting with different styles is definitely my playground!

omg I made it before 2k subs
    first video with furniture!
the three circles part broke my brain in a good way haha
the part where you forgot your glasses even while drawing yourself made me laugh 😂
idk how you decided on the setup of the big blue box on the left and the two smaller boxes on the right to show yourself and the art styles - but it feels very good to look at and I wish it started earlier
    crazy painter villain 🤯
it's somewhat different but - I was somehow very surprised to learn that Dora the Explorer teaches English in most of the world
    RIP CAPITALISM LOL

Yeeeees! It was so comfortable to record with the new tripod and furniture this time😭
Thank you for checking it out together with me, I can't quite imagine reaching 2K yet, but I’m happy more people are interested in the art I’m sharing🤯
The idea for this layout came from Twitch, where they provide game streaming. I made a few videos to teach Japanese through video games, so I thought I could use the same layout to show my process.
I’m so happy to know that it’s working well.
Huh? Dora? I’ve never seen that before, maybe it’s not in Japan or just not my generation? I learned English from Charlie and Chocolate factory🍫

@@ogawachikako btw by earlier I meant earlier in the video itself - rather than the channel
I found the layout quite easy and comfortable to watch - but it's not the only one which has been good ✨

This is very nice Chi-chan! :) I have said earlier that I typically don't draw myself. Even if I do, I don't really know which style I would draw. But I do know that I was influenced by Takahashi Rumiko's work, as well as Tsukasa Hojo. It is so much fun looking at all the styles you laid out, and I have to say, Chibi style is my favorite by far, but I tend to not draw that a whole lot and focus too heavily on details. I feel that somehow when I am being asked to draw a character, I will automatically draw Hero style for whatever reason. So I don't really know what style I usually draw, do you think it is okay not to have a particular drawing style? Maybe someday I'll find my own style. Anyway, I am very glad that you finally got some furniture and you seem to have settled in pretty nicely too. See you again next week!

Hey Alex! Yes, I finally got my new tripod and furniture! It's such a game-changer☺️
I see you’ve been spending more time on portraits recently, which is super cool!
People like to categorize things to understand them, but I don't think artists need to fit into a category. Your style is your style. I use references from chibi, shonen, or whatever, but I don’t want to put my own artwork into a category because it feels like I’m limiting myself🎨
So yeah, let's keep going on our journey with more and more paper and pen! ^^
By the way, since you mentioned starting photography again, I'm planning to invite my photographer friend over to give me some insights into that world. I'm so excited to share what I learn with you. It might happen next month, but I can't wait to bring more inspiration to your new journey📷! Hihihi

@@ogawachikako ooooooh tripod sounds very serious now :) for some strange reason I actually enjoy putting furniture together…like IKEA furniture. Maybe because it feels like I was playing with Lego again.
I agree that we shouldn’t be too honed in on the definition of our styles. Our style is what makes us happy when we create the piece :) I’ll just draw what I like, and let people decide what that is, because truly, it doesn’t really matter.
Yes photography. I’ve been looking at some mirrorless DSLR for beginners and made some shopping list. I used to think that I want to have as much zoom as possible. But now, I like how I observe things around me, especially the sky, not just a single frame of cloud formation, but the whole sky. So chances are I’ll get some ultra-wide angle lenses just for that. Plus those are really good for vlogging and video making too because you wouldn’t need to place your camera too far away or invest in remote microphones. I don’t have all these equipment yet but I know what I’d like to have, so I’ll wait for a good time to get them….like around Black Friday or Cyber Monday :)
And yes please do ask your photographer friend a lot of questions. I definitely wouldn’t mind more knowledge in the field. Have a great Sunday Chi-Chan!

@@aleksitanninen Wow, it’s clear you have a lot of background in photography already! I’m just someone who takes photos with my smartphone, but I think collecting references outdoors with a camera would be a fun activity for illustration too!
All the furniture is set up, but now I’ve started collecting containers and shelves because there are still many things on the floor, haha.
Have a good weekend to you and Evie too!

@@ogawachikako No no :) I don't have much experience at all and we're the same in the sense of taking photos with our smartphones. I take a lot of photos of the sky to use as reference too. But I think nowadays the cameras are so powerful that they will be able to send the taken pictures to your phone too. Anyway, moving is always a lot of work. Have fun while you're at it. :) And yes me and Evie just watched Slam Dunk on Netflix. I forgot how much I like the series. I used to read the manga when I was in middle school, and I started playing basketball because of that too.
