  • This video is about changing the Oil Pressure Sensor on a 2013 Chevy Suburban LT 5.3L V8. If your oil pressure gage isn’t showing the correct oil pressure, this might be the fix for you. If your “check engine” light is on and you have the ability to run the codes from the computer and it tells you the Oil Pressure Sensor is the issue, this also might be the fix for you. I go into detail on how I replaced the Oil Pressure Sensor in a 2013 Chevy Suburban LT 5.3L V8 and I am not sure what year’s this will encompass, so please watch the video, do some research on your engine and I hope this helps you save some time and potentially some money.

We also have a podcast. There are many videos coming where there will be guest speakers and discussions with genuine, "real", every-day men discussing daily life in today's world and what that looks like as a Man in today's society. Many people seem to be lost or confused or simply in need of authentic examples of what "real" men should be. We will be diving into some of these issues and how we men can help shape our worlds around us and make the world a better place for us all. Most importantly we will be exemplifying the need for camaraderie, fellowship, and good mentors and how the loss of them is threatening our world.

Pull up on the tan plastic piece with your finger and thumb and then squeeze in on the center tan piece you just pulled up and that should release the catch and you can remove the harness

Where did you sit and put your feet in the engine compartment. I am 6'2" and 265. I don't know where to set my feet down to avoid damaging cables, hoses, connectors, etc...

I laid down some towels and lay down over the top of the engine, using a stepstool to do that (2014 Yukon).

Just before the sensor, on mine there is what appears to be a pastic shroud in the way, did you run into the same thing? I cant for the life of me figure out how to get to the sensor with that piece in the way

I did not have any plastic piece in the way. You’re not talking about the big plastic piece that covers the top of the entire intake and heads are you?

Ok. I just wanted to make sure. I did not have anything in front of the sensor that impeded my ability to get to it.

That plastic shield is standard on those vehicles (not the cover). It appears that "TDS's shield" has been cut away.....which makes TDS's process 1,000 times easier to replace the oil pressure sensor. If you do not cut that plastic shield out....then you will have to remove the 2 vacuum lines (easy to do) and then use those tools. As what TDS said..."Everything you do will be by touch".

My 2014 Yukon had that plastic "sound barrier" blocking access (job is tons easier if that's not there). So this took me a couple of hours to do working blind 8 days ago, after I'd quit 3 times. If I have to do again ever, I'd cut away some of that barrier. By the way: 4 of the 5 GM SUVs have had bad oil pressure senders, terrible location/engineering, unless all one is concerned with is to get past warranty period and make some service money.

Why do people record vertically, smh

    • @thedaddyshow01

In my case my phone was all I had while working on the vehicle and the best way to hold the phone so I could sit precariously in the engine compartment was to hold it vertically. To keep the continuity of the video I recorded the video’s entirety vertically.
