Super video, Terry. I still get goosebumps on matchday as you enter the arena. Having the pitch dug down in a bowl is amazing. Sadly, I dont get to many matches as I moved away ... Miss it so much.
As a Mag did the SOL tour back when ye had Phillips n Quinn upfront. Worked for a Danish company in Washington so one of the Mackem lasses had organised a tour for the Danes n a Meal in Shield’s. Was canny interesting and had good banter with the guides. Did the St.James park tour a few weeks ago with family. Callum Wilson’s box at 85k a season, again very interesting. Best tour I’ve done and only for people with a head for heights is the St.James park roof top tour. The guide talks not just football but the history of the city and surrounding areas.
Grand Tour which I enjoyed immensely. The Tour Guides did a wonderful job. They are a credit to the club. Thank you to the Tour Guides. Do they actually have two black cats called Samson and Delilah? (The cat flap.) Thank you Terry and company for taking us with you. Very informative and enjoyable.
Ive been to Monties house . After the 73 cup final when we were 12 we walked from Ford Estate to tunstall picked short staw to see who would knock on his door, i walked up shaking in my boots. He opend the door and i mumbled great save Monty and he ruffled my hair and smiled. Off i went happy as Larry but had to walk all the way back again
Thanks,Terry, for the wonderful tour video. I just want the team owners to know that they have to spend enough money for players and managers,so that the world's greatest football fans (Sunderland fans) can watch their team playing the world's top teams (the Premiere League) in the world's best football stadium.( the Stadium of Light). And I'm just one of many who feel this way. Thanks again for posting this video. Ha'Way the lads! Sunderland til I die!
I've seen other videos of SOL tours and everyone says how good they are. I should go myself one day. Interesting fact that it was Sunderland who made the first ever substitution in football, the manager doing it being Alan Brown. I've learnt something too 👍
I can remember John canny lad John he went same College as me Sunderland College. I,ve been on Tour at Stadium plus the played Dance of the Knights. Ha,way the Lads 🔴⚪️🔴
In the 43rd minute he talks about the cryogenic box. Remembering the Netflix show, I believe this expensive device was a point of contention brought up by the new owners who asked if it was ever used. It turns out that it was only used by the former chairman for personal reasons (I hope I'm remembering this right). But I don't understand why they're not using it. In the Manchester City documentary (All or Nothing), Vincent Kompany goes into the cryogenic chamber to treat an injury. Apparently these devices are very helpful. I don't see why Sunderland wouldn't use it, unless more recently these methods have fallen out of favor in sports medicine?
great video, and yes we still have won more trophies than both Newcastle and Spurs ! SOL is great but Roker park, Roker end 47,000 there with the wind blowing the noise wow !
@themadmistake wincey is spot on I'll just come instead Terry I've got the scarf to go with the Sunderland top with the gold stripes on the shoulder mate
The boxes are actually really good value for money between 12 people, your probably paying 400/500 for an adult season ticket anyway are you? 2 and a bit grand for 23 better experiences not bad if you ask me
Sunderland get over 40k thats really good for the catchment area they have in between newc and boro. Newcastle catchment from gateshead to scottish borders is 3 times size of sunderlands and has over 1million people
