I waited 4 years for my child to be seen in a specific clinic. Finally got an appointment, got speaking to another parent there (in their broken English although clearly they were trying to learn the language). They told me, we moved to the UK last year because our child couldn't get the care he needs in our country and there is too much stigma. Here we get disability benefit for him, and look we are here being seen. It is fantastic. I smiled and nodded and then didn't engage further. It broke my heart. I fought for years to get my child seen in this clinic, 4 year waiting list and 2 years advocating before that to get him on the list; and at that time was appealing decision to not grant him disability benefit. This family turned up and were seen and granted these things in less than one year. My British born and bred child (as is myself and the father) waited about 6 years. Make it make sense. When we've paid into the system for years but newcomers get it all handed on a plate.

After waiting 8 months on the NHS for 2 teeth removed because she was in agony with abscesses we had no choice but to pay for private treatment. She couldn’t eat and was losing weight and we were afraid she would not make it. I used a FOI request and found out that the contract the local integrated health board had with the dentist said she had to be treated within 8 weeks of her referral. You are right Daniel I also found out if she had been a migrant she would have had treatment immediately. It beggars belief. This has to change.

I was pushed down the stairs and spent four months in hospital. I came out of the hospital in a wheelchair requiring numerous items of medication. As a retired Nurse, I am worried by this fact and feel ashamed to be British now, My whole ethos while at work was a priority of need, based on condition and human compassion. I feel that this change has done nothing to uphold the esteem that the NHS was held in, in years gone by, by not just the British people but the whole world as a Quality service based on NEED, not ethnicity and/or culture. When foreigners were treated, it was their country of origin that footed the bill for treatment. or their insurers. Now it seems that those who have paid Taxes and National Insurance for the whole of their working lives are put to the back of the queue for the sake of those who have paid nothing and have no intentions of paying towards their very expensive Health Care, Total betrayal of the citizens of a United Kingdom.

I am an immigrant to this country myself. I've lived here for nearly 22 years, and I must say from my perspective that the UK is going downhill and fast! The NHS is a clear example of this. With every passing year, I am getting more and more frustrated by the incompetence and arrogance of literally every government I have seen over that period. The UK is fast becoming a country where there's no point in working hard to make a living for you and your family. Instead, it's much easier to become an alcoholic, a drug user, or simply come here on a boat to get all the benefits for free!

I went to my local doctor as I suspected I had a chest infection. The doctor refused to give me any antibiotics until I had an X-ray. Luckily, I was able to get an X-ray the same day. However, I was then told that the doctor wouldn’t be able to review my X-ray or the results for 10 days. What is the point of this? Surely, by that time, I would have either recovered, gotten worse, or possibly even died. The system is broken. It doesn’t make sense. I can only empathize with people who are going through far worse.

My son spent years suffering with a herniated lumbar disc. Unable to work for two years his works sick pay ran out. The NHS played the waiting game with x-ray and scan results. He couldn't walk properly and his leg kept giving way. Finally his GP referred him to a private hospital and after another delay he had an appointment with a surgeon. The surgeon told him to have another X-ray in the hospitals X-ray suite and come back when finished. 3/4 of an hour later he was back in the consulting room and the surgeon showed him the pictures on his desk computer. Explained what procedure was required and set a date about two weeks later. On the day I took him in at seven am and helped him inside. At 16.30 he called me to be collected. I was utterly astounded when he walked out of the door with better mobility than me. He was back at work, pain free, within weeks. I have had CT scans and seen my results on consultants screens within hours so I really don't understand why this nonsense about reviewing images takes weeks. It's definitely not due to technological delays

As a type one diabetic Scotsman, born & bred, I can tell you that 45 years ago, my mum could order my insulin prescription before noon, over the telephone, go to the doctors to collect my prescription, take it to any pharmacy & have my life saving medication in her hand by 1300hrs, only 2-3 hours in total. These days my doctors reception staff argue with me that I must not order my life saving repeat prescriptions of insulin until I have 7 days supply or less left, before it runs out. The problem with that is that Boots & my previous pharmacy can take as long as 14 days before they hand over the medication that keep me fit, well & alive. It's a constant battle just to get my medication & a number of times I've argued & threatened my doctors surgery with legal action because they point blank refused to give me an emergency prescription which would have given me the medication I needed. To cut a long story short, I'm betting no illegal immigrant, & that's exactly what they are, no matter what governments wanna call them, have ever been placed in a situation where they're health & life were put in jeopardy because of NHS rules for us & a different set of rules for them!

We thankfully got her sorted paying to go private putting stressed finances under more duress. The consultant stated the required operations were only just able to go through due to low kidney function caused by continued kidney infections over the last 2 years. On top of that she nearly lost her job as a teacher due to sickness which likely would have sent us bankrupt.

If the person felt unwell, they phoned an ambulance without telling anyone when the ambulance arrived. The man said he had a belly ache or something silly. You are right they know how to play the game. My daughter had to check rooms to make sure everything was ok .One room had 5 brand new iPhones, and most of them had new expensive clothes .One man even asked my daughter if he could use his cash card he brought it over with him it was ok to use in the cash machine. One man even said he was on a special diet .my daughter looked at him and said, "Isn't your country at war you were living on the streets. They would go out and leave the heating on full .their are so many underhanded things that they did she stayed in the job for 2 years as she said to me mum then I first started the job I felt sorry for them. Not surprised at all. Went to urgent care in Milton Keynes last year. Waiting time was between six and eight hours. Sitting there getting fed up when a group of 6 migrants came in with asking for one of them to be looked at, and they said they were from 60 miles away but were told that this hospital was a good place.
Much to everyone’s surprise and anger he was rushed straight into a room and within minutes paramedics arrived put him on oxygen and a trolley and took him to A&E then he was found a bed in ICU..
What made this all the more unbelievable and shocking was that 3 elderly people were in the waiting area in wheelchairs and one on a trolley who had been waiting for a bed for 22 hours and they were not even given a single bottle of water.. However the other men who had brought him in were taken off to get some food and hot drinks….
