For myself, I appreciate it when the whole process is shown missteps and all- to edit out "mistakes" only makes me feel less competent in completing a craft when I make a mistake. I enjoy your tutorials and the ease and patience that you keep moving on, even if there is a glitch.:)
I just got into making cards and I came across your video and thank you for sharing. This is an awesome idea for a family project to do together, my mom fell in her front yard and is paralyzed on her right side now and this would be a great project for her to help with so she can use her hand and help her so I want to thank you very much for sharing your projects much love and always keep crafting Love ya bunches sweetie
I can tell my brain isn't totally working yet this morning. When you said a pop up box for A2 cards I thought you were making a box that would lift up the cards inside the box so I didn't need to struggle grabbing cards. lol I'm blind so I could not see the "pop-up" elements at first. Beautiful idea once I gathered what you were doing. Thanks for another great project! 😊💗
May May, I am by no means a crafter, but every since I came across your videos I am becoming one. I really really enjoy watching you. You are a wonderful teacher. I just want to say Thank you 😀
"Mistake area" I love it...…. I love that you just craft and share and teach all while creating something so sweet! Thank you for all that you do! This will make a wonderful gift for anyone.
I'm adopting "mistake area" for all of life.😁 My youngest son said once, during a "discussion" he was having with his older brother: "So, I was off a little." Became a family saying---going on for 30 years now.❤
Love how deep this box is! I get free cardboard from work so the kids and I are making this with assorted cards for Christmas presents. I might put a flap on the lid since I'm making so many. Thanks for sharing!
Just started the video and I love the idea of the box. I have ADD and I can focus on your project with out jingling flashy jewelry or bright colored nails. Thank you for thinking of us and always bringing us awesome projects. Oh love love love the sweater you are wearing,
That is a great box and a great idea for a birthday gift for my friend who I make cards for each year. Thanks so much for accepting the challenge and teaching the rest of us.
What a great little box, you make it look easy to do. Too funny when you where deciding how best to put the lid on the binding, I’m telling you out loud “lay it down”. That’s the first time I tried to talk to a RUclips video! Btw I learned to lay it down from you a few minutes before that, so I’m no expert just a good student.
Love love love!!!! Thank you so much for doing a project like this. I absolutely love making paper boxes but have been nervous about trying a chipboard one. I am excited to try now!!!!
Maymay, I just love your work it aleays comes out so wonderful. This box would make an adorable jewelry box for a little girl. Just line it with suede paper. thanks a million.
I love the box, I think I am going to make one for a girl at work to keep post-it’s in and clips. It’s her birthday Friday, hope it looks as good as yours.
MayMay, the corner pieces are called brackets. This is such a charming project. I am eager to try this. Thank you for so many sweet craft ideas. God bless you, Vince and your family.
How cute & fun, & perfect timing. I'm in the process of making a set of greeting cards as a gift for a friend, & have been wondering what kind of box/container to make for them. Thx May May!! Nice work & great video!
Great project! I just came across this video. At the beginning of the video you said you’d do the cards in a separate video . Where can I find that? I’ve tried looking but no luck on you tube search.
This is a positively adorable box. Just when I thought it couldn't get any cuter, out came the turtle!. By the way, what thickness/size of chipboard do you like? I want to buy some but I just don't have a clue what kind to buy. If it helps, I have a Gemini machine and Cuttlebug.
That is awesome Maymay!! IDEA: maybe add a short string of ribbon on the left to the middle top to the top inside edge to keep it from opening too far ??
I just made the box. You said to share it, how do I do that? I love the little box but I do have concerns about the sturdiness of it. The edges and corners seems real weak. And seems that I make larger cards but that is fine because I will use it for my change when I empty my pockets.
(PLEASE READ ChaCha Dodds's comment below mine....I'm going to start using Borax rather than cornstarch as well) I started using corn starch to remove the stickiness when I was doing the Photo Play So Loved Card Kit. It works great and it's what I had on hand :)
Connie Johnson....I see/hear this suggestion all the time lately, but would caution against Cornstarch because the little vermin that love to eat the glues, etc. in books, will be instantly attracted to your projects. Cornstarch is a sugar, & you know how yummy sugar is. This is especially true in humid climates, but just as applicable in arid climates like Arizona, where I live. I use Borax, as this contains no starches or sugars, & is actually lethal to bugs. I use Borax on my thresholds to keep scorpians from entering my house. Works beautifully. Note: borax is not toxic to humans, it repels &/or kills bugs by scoring micro cuts in their outer body/shells, & they dehydrate to death. You can find this in the laundry aisle of your local grocery store.
Thank you sooooo much! It makes TOTAL sense. I should've recognized this about the cornstarch! Thank you for the tip on Borax, which I have sitting in my laundry room already :) I will remember this when it comes ant time again as well!

How cute! Wish I lived closer. Would love to see the windows in person!

The flat side of the pokey tool is perfect for the sticky tape tear off. Love that tool so versatile.
Love the way you showed to emboss and use the table to help form the edges so smoothly.
Such a good demo. I like it when you make a mistake because seeing you correct it helps me to remember.

I hear everyone talking about chipboard, what is chipboard and can you buy it?
