Simple but effective. this is a Great way for people to get into composites. small simple projects that don't require perfection. This would be great as a STEM project to introduce composites to people. Thank you for sharing.

Did you try this method in previous builds?
as I know chopped fiberglass mat has a binding agent to hold strands in place.
So just using epoxy is not enough, as it will not release the binding agent and parts of the strands will not be saturated with epoxy, making the part lacking strength.
You can try adding a solvent in epoxy (like acetone), but in very small amounts.
Keep in mind you have to insulate the foam before applying epoxy with acetone (with wood glue and water mix or polycrylic).

I use the simple liquid petroleum jelly
Was the first one you made a mold? and then the actual part was the second one you took out of the mold?

I could not find a release agent for mould but i use the petroluim jelly for release
