Love how much effort you put in making a space free of shame for consults. The education system, medical system, and often times, homes, fail people so regularly that it doesn’t surprise me at all that people genuinely don’t know about how their body parts should or should not be. We see doctors regularly misspeak or advocate for unsafe/outdated practices even… so this mindfulness towards consults is so appreciated.

I got my nipples pierced at 19 (in retrospect I cannot believe how young I was), but it was a fantastic experience. I went with a male piercer too because he was super super informative about the whole experience and healing. They were hands down my best piercing experience between the actual piercing and healing and I credit that piercer for pretty much all of that. Especially in retrospect for how young I was, I am extremely grateful had such a professional and good piercer

I also have the question how I know if the piercer is checking if it’s going to “suit me “ .. because once I got angel bites (from my not regular piercer) and It ended up being too many piercings in my face and especially around my mouth. I ended up taking them out the day after, when going to my regular piercer and they told me that I could get a Medusa instead, that they thought it would really suit me. And now I have a Medusa and I’m really happy with it.

To add: I hadn’t even thought thoroughly about it. So I didn’t know everything there was to know about angel bites (gosh now that I think of it I’m not even sure if that’s what they’re called because they’re were non vertical)😅
Yeah and the piercer was in such a rush she did 3 piercings in 10 minutes

See this is interesting because to me, I don’t want a piercer to check if it’s suits me because it’s not their business 🤷‍♀️ I wanted a jestrum done and was talked into a Medusa because he said a jestrum wouldn’t suit me and it would clank with my vertical labret. I ended up taking the Medusa out because I hated it, and I realized that it clicking against my vertical labret is probably gonna be a good way for me to stim 😂 sooo I’m gonna get a jestrum, which is what I wanted originally. I feel like they should help if you ask but I personally don’t want my piercer giving their opinion on whether or not a piercing is going to look good, because I’m the one who should be happy about it lol

@@morgandeen I understand from your perspective that it would be better to not get a recommendation from the piercer, and simply get the piercing you want. Most of the times I’ve came to the piercer and said I want a specific piercing , and definitely been sure about it, and not wanted to get such a recommendation. But how does it clank on your vertical labret? I’m just curious since I’ve got both a Medusa and vertical labret so I can’t seem to understand, however I believe you.

    Allll of this!
Especially piercings (nipple & genital) that could not be the client's full choice. It happens.
Also, because not everyone can get things like industrials, if they come in for a basic helix, and they have the PERFECT ear for an industrial, it's great to point it out first "hey, we can do this for sure, but have you ever seen/ considered this one? You have great ear for it and we can def do it for you instead!"

Kind of related question but there’s a piercer that’s in my city that’s been in the industry for almost 30 years and I wanted to build a client relationship with her because she’s looking for models for her new play piercing portfolio, but I saw a few recent clips of her piercing and she uses cannula needles for almost everything. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt considering most people are getting pierced at 16g and they most likely don’t know the difference, but would it be rude to ask if she does piercings with needles or why she uses cannula needles? I’m not a professional so I don’t want to overstep my boundaries when speaking to one.

Hello! I really need your help with more information about vertical snakebites 😅 I was really bent on getting regular snakebites but I got really nervous hearing about the possibility of teeth damage..I just found out about vertical snakebites. I heard that was more safe. Is there anything I should know about that one? Is it more painful, would you advise regular snakebites? The piercing place I called is app approved..but they never asked about a consultation I would just have to come in? Maybe that means they’re still looking at my lips? I don’t know…anyways I’m really nervous I would really appreciate some help 😢😢
