Ronela: Yes
The reason she was looking around and so intensely up, is because the beginning was like a tribute for her father who died, so it was very emotional for her, but when she was looking up it was because she’s kinda saying, look dad I finally made it❤️
YAY your Eurovision reviews are back. I love this entry from Albania. Finally sending an uptempo after YEARS. This will be revamped she’s already said that as it has to be shortened to 3 mins so keep an eye out for the revamp closer to March. Thanks again for your reviews
I mean, there were only 2 ballads in a row (2019 and 2021), but I am glad they've decided to go for a different entry this time (even though I LOVED both of their last two ballads and also Theje that came 2nd this year in FIK) - as far as it's a song with traditional instruments, Albanian language and other ethnic elements, I am hear for it no matter whether it's a ballad or an uptempo song 🤩🥰

@@robinoswald eventhough they are not strictly ballads hardy anything sent by Albania to Eurovision since Malmö 2013 qualifies as uptempo. And even before that. So I think it's good they speed up a little.
She's doing a revamp of it, she didn't give any information but she stated she's working with one of the best producers in the world!🔥☺

The part when the music first escalates and she shouts has actually historical significance. In the northern areas of Albania when various villages signaled one other (especially if enemies was aproaching) that was the shout/cry that would go out. Also, the ethnic sounds are those of Northern Albania.

I really like Albania this year! All of Albanias entries are amazing!! But this one is different from the rest. I like how we still get the powerful Albanian vocals in the song, and I’m excited for it to go to the stage, because I think it’ll do well in the competition (Hopefully)

I had the same opinion as you did the first time but the more i listen to it the more I like it! It's definitely something new and different from Albania and I can't wait to see it on eurovision stage!
It's got cool elements but it's a bit chaotic just now. Will be revamped as Albania's entries always are. Definitely has potential. Also, I didn't think she looked nervous I think she was just trying to act intense.

It is fragmented but it will get better, I'm sure of it. I feel like she puts a ton of effort into her product and this is no exception.
The song will be shortened and revamped for eurovision, just like "karma" was.
I am very proud to be Albanian and I am so happy that Albania will represent a wonderful powerful song

For the past 2 years Albania was always among my absolute favourites with Ktheju Tokes in 2019 and Karma in 2021 - I have a thing for epic, dramatic ballads with traditional instruments, native language and other ethnic elements 😅
That being said, I'm happy to see a difference this time that Albania has decided to go for an uptempo song and as far as it has traditional ethnic instuments and Albanian language I'm here for it! 😍♥♥

I personally loved it the very instant I watched. I also liked the chaotic structure!
The song is supposed to be a club banger and usually club bangers don't really have big meanings behind them lol but I think that's okay, in fact I love it. She is in to bring some great show. The lyrics are about Ronela promising a guy that she will keep secret the fun nights they had and that she'll never regret them. Lyrics include albanian idioms and phrases which are used in the Northern Albania (so not the Standard Albanian Language) which I think makes the song a lot more wholesome, especially for Albanians.
I adore Eurovision, it’s literally second Christmas to me 😂 I think it is a definite improvement from Albania last year (my least fave) and it definitely improves the more you listen. I love it now but agree it’s pretty choppy and doesn’t flow as it should; however, a little revamp should make it amazing!!! Loving your Eurovision reviews as always 💓

Its an Albanian urban legend. She was a princess named Vjosa, (after the river also shown in the clip), living on that same castle. They killed her husband and she turned into a ‘dragon’ cursed the men and killed herself to reunite with him again.
Well there is going to be a revamp for this, also if you feel like this is broken up a bit because it is, since the original version of the song is about 5 mins.

Big big fan of yours here! 🌹 She's going to London to do the revamp with producer Diztortion + apparently she'll work on 2 additional mixes with different producers from she's going to choose the final "Eurovision version" - note that the song is 3.34 in length to begin with. She said she's definitely keeping mix of Albanian and English but essence remains in Albanian (namely the iconic "1, 2, 3 ta marrsha" part). I'm so so excited, I've been stanning since she revealed the song 🔥🔥💕 !!!! Glad you appreciated her vocals and as you're the most-known vocal coach out there I hope she sees this! Hi! First of all congratulations for your videos! I really like them and the way you analyze every detail. Taking advantage of the Eurovision wave, one of these days you can react to Pastora Soler's video that she sang in 2012. She has one of the most incredible voices that have ever been there.
It gets better with more listens but i agree... What serves as a chorus here is actually more of a prechorus and then it drops to instrumental

Lady they are supposed to look like that its called acting and they have it on point The theme of the song is a secret love story and her looking around when her voice is soft at the beginning of the song is to represent when she is looking her back in order to keep it a secret because the guy wants it to keep it a secret The sad music is how sad she feels that her love is not as precious to him but what others think and how they judge come first ....Then her pain transforms in anger and women power to tell to the fool her piece of mind
Hi Georgina, I'd suggest to you to wait a little before you start reacting. Most songs get a revamp before becoming official. This was a performance for winning the national final, almost 4 minutes. It will have to get shorten and she is saying there will be more English in the revamp etc. You might do reaction to revamp versions later but if you only want to do one for country I'd suggest waiting until March when the final versions have to be submitted

You sort of have to be from a very specific background in order to fully appreciate how epic the sound of this track actually is, but I find it irritating how people who aren't directly related often couldn't care less for and tend to disregard the cultural aspect of a song, which is a shame cause that's literally its most distinctive feature, otherwise you're stuck with yet another generic pop ballad or an upbeat club banger. It's always a huge plus whenever someone brings their culture to the table, that's kind of the whole point of this competition, no?
If you think this version is broken up Georgina, wait until you hear the remix. Would be interested to hear your thoughts if you get to hear it.

You are only honest. Most of popular yt pretend to like everything. Song is ok, but nothing more then that.
I'm surprised that you didn't comment on the fact that she's quite flat throughout the song... It's what bothered me the most, if she fixed it I'd like the song much better.
This reminds me of North Macedonia 2018, even if it's a complete different genre, that one was broken up too and felt like different songs put together. Depending of the other countries, I don't see this ending up high. The verses of this song are so weak.

I'm with Georgina on this one, it's good but the song feels fragmented and not organic - which is not to say it isn't good. That's why I preferred Alban, whose song had a build-up and was more emotional (including the crack in his voice, which IMO was not due to bad technique, but emotion!). That said, I usually really like Albania's entries and this one by Ronela is no exception. Cheers from Italy 🇮🇹
I think the crack in Alban's voice was because he's actually can't sing live and I don't mean that as a bad thing. I love his songs and I listen to them daily but as studio versions, any song of his that he performs live is quite a disaster every single time.
