It still staggers me that a film of this quality is free to watch 🤯. Well done, Joe!
Thank you buddy, very kind words! With current RUclips ad revenue it's getting very hard 🫣👊
Followed you for some time and I’m an owner of a 1250GS myself as well as a car lover. Really good to see a petrol head not just covering cars and enjoying the awesome feeling riding gives you and freedom. Enjoy your adventures and make many more….🙌😎
I just got a GS and I absolutely adore it. Does it all.
Great "teapot" stance for your selfie, lol. That was great Joe, loved it. Covered getting on for 400,000 miles by motorbikes in my life, so I'm a massive fan, for those who don't ride it's like flying without leaving the ground, literally! Get yourself a largish microfibre, one of those with a long finish on one side and smoothish on the other side, run it under a warm tap at the end of the day, wring out the excess and just hang it over the front of the helmet, leave for five or ten mins, then you'll find the flies etc wipe off with virtually zero effort and you won't damage the visor with excessive rubbing! You can employ the same method for the motorbike screen, obviously rinse it under the tap well afterwards to get rid of the flies, lol. I know the roads in the alps are pretty good but don't fly up to those bends with big drops over the other side and at the last minute realise there is either diesel or gravel right in your braking zone, it's honestly the best way to test your sphincter response! No room for error on these occasions unlike a car with double the wheel count! Rucksacks can prove very uncomfortable over long distance, a tank bag is a seriously good investment for touring, you can charge your gear in it while on the go, easy access to your wallet, camera, tickets etc, you can get quick release versions and totally waterproof expandable versions too, they are superb! Hope I don't sound like a smart ass and I'm not trying to lecture, I know you're a smart cookie! Really hoping you keep up the bike content, I think you're already hooked on biking. PS there is a new(completely new) GS being announced in three days on the BMW websites so watch that space. All the best, ride safe! Cheers Tony.
Gotta say considering you are new to motorbiking your riding ability is very good, looks like you've been on the roads for years, I suppose being a competent mountain biker will have a lot of crossover but its still impressive, great video Joe!
Thank you, I think my mountain biking history has certainly helped :-)
Have been watching following you for about 4yrs. I have never made a comment before. Have just watched this video and even though I'm not a biker, I though it was incredible! You really felt as though you were on the bike. The route and scenery was beautiful.👍
Thank you 👍
Hats off to you mate, what a fantastic journey 👏👏👏 look forward to part 2
Thanks, looking forward to getting art 2 edited soon!
Great vid, can’t beat the Alps on a bike, btw get a airtex jacket and decent jeans, bung a 2 peice waterproof suit in the bag and it makes hot weather so much better, and it’s call (Val-waa ) Valloire
Another great video. Most people underestimate how challenging it is to do long distance on a bike, nevermind on the "wrong" side of the road. Well done for completing such a great journey especially considering how new you are to riding. I have mates that have been riding for years and don't have the courage to ride on the continent. Massive respect!
Great video. I’ve had bikes longer than cars and I wouldn’t be without one. As much as I enjoy driving my car nothing beats jumping on a bike and just disappearing on your own.
Really chuffed for you that you've unlocked one of life's greatest pleasures.
Stuck in my relatively isolated homeland of Australia and watching gorgeous videos like this just make me so envious! The ease of access you have to the continent and the relative affordability to get there is such a great thing. I subscribe for the car videos, but I'll always watch this kind of content. People Living! Indeed!
Bloody hell mate. Makes we want to buy a new bike! Epic journey.
Well done Joe great video , done some of where you've been so far both on a gs and a 4 series , not an m4 unfortunately . Just reminds me ,that I have to go back and do some more . Look forward to part 2 ,enjoy and ride safe !👍
Thank you for sharing such moments with us !
Those views are quite something and I've binge-watched the whole video without letting any second of it slip by :)
Thanks for watching 👌
Fantastic video. It made me miss my MC days. Specifically good memories from a trip from Denmark and up to Nordkapp and return.
Came for the car content years ago, staying for the bike content!
That’s a good day 1 benchmark distance for anyone trying this type of trip. We find the ferry less tiring as you can rest for 90 mins, the tunnel makes you wait longer& is always behind schedule so makes little difference shore to shore.
Really enjoyable video. Lovely commentary, good shots and I can relate to your slight anxiety / excitement as to made ready to leave. I’ve done a few trips, but it’s been too long since my last one!
Lovely Joe. Can't wait for part 2! Done a similar trip recently, so I can relate to your experiences. Crying out for an adventure with 44 Teeth!
That was great, thanks Joe. Really good to see you on a bike and looked like some tidy riding skills! I bet you've had some tips from the entire biking community! It's doubtful better camaraderie exists anywhere than on two wheels. My tip? Riding solo, I would mount my luggage on the pillion seat - brings the weight forward and lessens buffeting. Once did just over 1900 miles in three days - never again! Looking forward to part 2!
So true, never had the same level of love with four wheels.... Great tip, thank you!
@@JoeAchilles1 Best way to get the same level of love with four wheels? Two bikes! 😊
I'm not a bike guy at all but something about your videos mate, just make them really pleasant to watch. Great video!
What an epic ride. The scenery is amazing. Thanks for sharing Joe. I’m looking forward to part 2.
Cheers buddy!
I swear there are few better feelings than rolling off the Eurotunnel on a motorbike (ideally in the sun…)
Great stuff Joe! As a fellow GS owner, they are a fine tool for the job. No matter what the bike, it’s the best way to see the world 👌🏻
Fantastic Joe, doesn't matter if your in a car or bike always top quality stuff always a pleasure to watch.
Great video Joe. Loving the bike content. Have done very similar trips on two wheels over the years and it's very cathartic.
Awesome video Joe!! Can't wait for part 2
Driving and downhill mountain biking combined, great analogy... 👊
Great to see you on two wheels fellas. Welcome to the club. I’m a fan of textile clothing over leathers for a tour. Started only wearing leathers and boy do I appreciate Rukka gear now
I’m very much more a car guy than a bike guy - can watch some of your road tests and especially road trips with things like the GT3 two or three times - but loved this.
I like the long form videos we can really get into and the changing scenery and, if anything, the views from the bike are better than usually available/easy from a car. Really looking forward to part 2, and hopefully many more to come!
Great to hear 👌
Brilliant video, fair enjoyed it. Roll on part 2. Thanks for sharing your beautiful French adventure 👍
Have watched a quite a number of the car videos in the past, but loving the motorbike content. Keep it going.
I'm only here for the motorbikes!
Good to see your video. Last year did 1000 km back to MK from Macon. I was ready to get off I can tell you! Enjoy!
Absolutely awesome video mate. Loved it. Keep them coming ❤
Watched your 4 wheeled posts for a while. Just found this one and as a biker for many years, it was great to watch. Had many bikes over the years, but I've not found another that does everything quite as well as the GS. Had 5 over the years GS and GSA's. Currently have the same model as yours. They are a fantastic machine.
Great vid, you've certainly done justice to the journey so far. The beauty of a bike is you can immerse yourself in the surroundings -travel at its best without spending loads on a second vehicle where you need a daily that does the school run & family hols. (Finally hit the Subscribe button - well earned !)
Joe, I enjoy all your videos but I have to say that these travelogues are by far my favourite type of content on your channel. Keep them coming please!! The shots in and around Annecy have really ignited my wanderlust to get back there. Have you listed the places you stayed anywhere? Would be really good if you had.
Glad you like them!
That was brilliant Joe thank you for sharing. Looking forward to part 2 👍
Really enjoyed that Joe, scenery's epic!
What an absolutely brilliant video
I ❤️ the landscape. 🌄
Really enjoyed that video Joe, looking forward to part 2 👍🏻
Very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing/posting. Cheers! :)
Whoops Press bike SAY NO MORE My other comment still stands.. Ask them about fuel pump re calls and how many they had and would they still honour a recall for the second time on an older bike Just love to hear the answer because I was basically told to get lost All I wanted was a replacement I did not ask for the ££££ it cost me to get a repair and transport back from the T.T. this year Let alone spoiling my holiday Good to hear the truth at times I feel ???
Can't wait for part 2!!
I hope this gets the views it deserves, imo one of your best videos. Looking forward to part 2
Nice footage, like it. Have an enjoyable remaining ride Joe. Love all of your road-trip videos.
Loved the video. Loving the Bike content. The scenery and the chat was absolutely spot on and your experience as a content provider shines through. I’m so glad to have reconnected to your channel as you begin your biking adventures.
I didn’t watch this when it first came out. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Joe.
Awesome, enjoyed it 👍🏽
What a great video, and what a great bike! So glad you enjoyed it, and also on your own. Epic adventure
Great vlog, excellent scenery and relaxing chat, thanks 😊🇦🇺👍
Amazing video Joe! Be safe and appreciate the great bike content!
Great video, good talking, so much fun to drive a GS!
Love the views Joe.
This was great! Looking forward to part 2
Love the video mate. I drive into France at least once a year and it is always epic on a bike. That feeling when you get on the eurotunnel is the best
Enjoyed that mate, looked fun!!
Bringing back so many memories for me , travelling through France and Europe 😊,
Enjoyable video
What a dream . It's fantastic !
I watch your channel for the car stuff but there's something about touring on a bike.
Loved this. Thanks Joe 👍
Really enjoyed the video Joe, looking forward to Pt 2 👍
In my opinion one of the most enjoyable videos you’ve ever made, and reminds me of an amazing bike trip I had to Annecy in 2011. Next summer I’ll be going again!
Brilliant joe loved this road trip on the BMW 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful scenery in TdF🇫🇷 country, beautiful weather and looks like you’ve mastered the joys of a GS1250 ❤ , roll on part 2
Joe been watching your content for years and you have just taken to another level I have that very GS and love it and touring on the bike and the GS is the steed for the job! Keep up the good work
Wonderful viewing, thanks Joe
Keep up this great content, really enjoyed it!!
I just started getting into motorbikes and bought my first one today, very glad you are also doing this kind of content!
New to the channel watching from Australia 🇦🇺 thanks for sharing this trip mate cant wait to see more eoisodes, its a dream to ride my motorbike in Southern France especially the Alps. I was there 10 years ago for Le Tour and its a magical place thanks for taking me back there 😊
Hi Joe I’ve actually clicked on your content just for your motorcycle content and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and listening to your thoughts…. Keep the biking content coming 👍
Love the bike contents! Looking forward to the next one!
Great video. Nice to be a virtual passenger on your Alpine Odyssey. I have a lightly modded 240i and you've given me inspiration to get across the channel and explore. Keep it up Joe. Good times ❤
Subscribed for the car content, but as a rider myself - it's refreshing to see you create bike content! I'm from Australia, a bike trip through the Euro Alps is something I've always wanted to do. Great job Joe, keep it up. :)
Love the bike content mate! Been riding the same passes in the alps, using my M1000R for solo trips and the M1000XR for trips with the wife. Love the alps, love the French alps, The Annecy area is amazing ing. Hope to see more vids on your solo trip. People ask me if I don’t get bored on solo trips…I just smile because they won’t understand how satisfying these trips can be…you, the elements, the bike, your leathers, even the ruck sack …all becoming best friends as you progress….enjoy! Keep the bike content coming!
As much as I love my cars I love my bikes too, and France. I’d love to see more bike content on your channel. Looked like a beautiful trip, and what a bike to do it on. Awesome video.
Beautiful views I wish I can do this trip in October
Incredible video man. Your perspective as a relative novice on such a beast machine is a fun combo.
Plus the scenery is bananas.
Great video Joe👌🏻 looking forward to the next one.
I liked this video as a French biker and Motorsport fan great quality btw ! 👍🏼
Every second of the video was enjoyable, these feature length adventure videos Joe are fantastic, your delivery takes me along and makes me feel as though we know each other. Well done. And the bike just feels more natural too. Like Harry’s Garage, I’m not a born n bread bike man, but your enthusiasm is catching and makes me want to be there on a GS. Watching these just reduces my anxiety and takes me to those happy places.
Thanks buddy that means a lot, really pleased with the warm response this and other GS videos have received 👌👊
Wicked stuff Joe. Def the way to do it, better road surface and quieter than uk. The right bike for it too. I think even for those not into bikes, can appreciate the adventure and the views.
Absolutely loved this content Joe. Not because it was a bike, but because it showed the roads you were driving on and the places you drove through. If this is Part1, where's Part 2?
Look at you on a bike, I've watched your car videos for years! The GS suits you! Looking good mate.
Tremendous video Joe, the varied content is great and your joy and passion for this come through so well. Living vicariously through your eyes whether its by bike or M3 Touring!
Much appreciated!
Hi Joe, you've inspired me to take the same trip in my Cooper S with my 12 year old lad next May. Will follow as much of your route as I can and maybe add a cheeky excursion into Monaco. Very much enjoying re-watching these to help with my planning. Thanks for sharing.
I’m not a great lover of motorbikes but I really enjoyed this video. It’s good to get some kind of perspective of what you see when riding one and the views in the alps are stunning.
Well done. I am envious. I was the 1000th to give you a thumbs up. :)
Great trip, thank you for showing to us too 😊❤
I so need to do these road on my Hyper.. well done boss 🤛🏼🤛🏼
Looks like you’re a natural on the bike Joe, a skill some car drivers would do well to master, great video, keep up the great work👌🏻
Great video can't wait to see part two. I‘ve always wanted to go on a trip to the Alps, I have an older GS I was going to upgrade but I'll wait for the 1300 out next year.
Fantastic !
Thanks glad you liked it!
Great video. Looks like a really easy bike to ride. Perfect for that sort of trip. 👌🏼
Euro touring frees the mind and the miles just fly by!
Looking forward to part two Joe.
You should plan a tour with Tim Rodie next year 👍🏻
Great vid Joe, keep them coming. Also don’t think of it as selfish, it’s self fulfilment and giving something back to you for all your hard work. Bet your head feels great.👍
Looking fwd to Part 2, that location where you stayed at the end looks a lot like where we holidayed in France in a place called Meribel, the chalet was doing summer for the first time and it was great, shops in town were still full of Christmas gear though and Ski gear. Beautiful place and what an adventure riding it.
Keep up the bike content… its good to see a newb coming from the car world get to grips with motorcycle and motorcycling. Awesome 👏
