I rarely ever take time to comment on videos but I just had to. This is a wonderfully put together video. You can tell alot of time went into conceptualizing it. I loved the bikes, the riders, and more so the opinion of the passengers. Please make more of such. Also exemplary drone work. Thank you Sirs and Ma'ams
I saw the results of this one coming, most every comparison gives the nod to the 1250 for a pillion/passenger. This was however, not a straight comparison with one being a standard GS and the other an Adventure but we get the point. As with any comparison there's going to be inherent bias by those involved. I am not sure why, as a pillion/passenger, one would care about the weight of the bike in terms of handling when they have absolutely nothing to do with aspect of the ride. To choose a bike with that as their main data point seems a little silly. All of that said, I do appreciate the review and look forward to more.
Great review! Thanks! I'm a '21 GSA owner and have loved every minute of the 30k miles I've put on it in the last 3 years. Not a fan of some of the changes on the 1300s.
I own a 1250 GS, but I am on tour in Corsica presently riding the 1300 GS. The 1300 GS is stellar in the mountain road environment. However, the engine at idle and lower speeds sounds like a bucket of bolts, the riding position is more cramped and less comfortable for me than the 1250, and while (unlike many) I do think the bike is attractive, I still prefer the more robust and less generic look of the 1250. The panniers and top case I think are a step backwards for the 1300. So I am sticking with the 1250. Also on this tour are Ducati MS V4S, Ducati Desert X, Triumph Tiger 1200 and 900 Rally Pro, BMW S1000XR, and Honda Africa Twin. Other bikes may look prettier or sound better, but for me the GS is still the best all-round with its balance, low speed handling, comfort, and ability to do it all very well. The V4S FREAKING ROASTED ME yesterday…it throws off sooooo much heat.
I totally agree with you gs 1200 and 1250 are better than 1300gs .they shouldn't have changed the body framework and looks, they could have changed the engine and add more configuration and features, which could have turned it much more pretty than the current 1300. I go with 1250gs and 1200.
enjoyed the comparison as I am moving from my VFR 800X back to a BMW for my 70th birthday and will go with the 1250gsa as a normal day ride is 300-400klm and want the more comfortable bike
Great comparison. Some people on here say it's not fair, but it's what I needed to decide which one I am looking to purchase. I'm an average height of 5'9" 176cm) and I was looking at the New 24 low suspension 1250 GS and a 1300 GS. I also felt the 1250 easier to put my feet flat and liked the bigger tank so I could travel in remote areas without having to carry extra fuel .love the videos. I live in South Carolina USA.
And hourlong video looking at two up riding had me really interested. Why were we 54 minutes in before we heard anything from the pillions? My wife and I ride as a team, I was hoping to have a lot more input from your passengers.
Speaking as someone who sold his Rocket 3 GT today I would love to see a comparison with the new GS1300 Adventure. This is the bike that my wife and I are leaning towards. Great video. I have liked and subscribed something i never do. Keep up the good work guys and girls.
Very informative comparison. I am probably a little biased as I ride a 2023 GSA but it appears to me that BMW have concentrated on the sportier aspects when developing the 1300. I am not interested in riding a sports biased bike anymore and think their development team have focused their efforts in the wrong area. Losing some weight from the 1250 but maintaining its comfort, wind protection and handling would have been more worthwhile.
i think you should do a comparison of the 1250 gsa and the 1300 gsa when it comes out .comparing the 1250 gsa to the 1300 gs in my eyes is a no go as there two different bikes
Thank you for doing a 2up review, I really enjoyed it and hopefully make my choice easier but of course me and my wife also have to go and try them both out as well. Yes please do a similar review when the R1300GSA will come👍🏻
Greate Review! Really! And the Ladys opinion is also really important. ..... but .... I love my Tiger Rally pro Adventure .... I have had driven booth bikes. Booth bikes are unbelievable. For me is the 1300 to small and the 1250 is also not optimal in the seat geometry. I´m 190 cm high and 100 kg is my weight. I love my Tiger!
Great video! I think the 1300gs without sport suspension, basically the DSA version would be a better comfort/touring comparison. The seat height is a bit lower and the suspension is not as stiff. Also, the Trophy version offers great wind protection.
I'm so glad to have the same 1250 model and much better to enjoy the ride with that motorcycle. I've done some tests with 1300 and that bike didn't convince me to swipe the bike there are some good stuff but 1250 is a good package a good bike. But every rider have different opinions and we ride differently so to choose wil be different too. Nice content and the feedback from you guys is more than true
Great video. I have a personal commitment to never carry passengers. I recognize the inherent risks in motorcycling. I've been hit by cars twice, fallen on an icy road , crashed off road. I cannot expect a passenger to accept a risk they may not full comprehend. As painful,as a crash is, harming my passenger would haunt me. I've been riding 50 years now.
Very interesting video 🙌 I’ve got the R1200GSA and I have hesitation to change for the R1300GS . But now I’m sure the GSA is perfect for duo ride and travel ✌️
I think you should have compared the standard 1250 GS as it it lighter and very different feeling bike to ride . But still a very good video, thank you for putting in the time. And you made the riding in rain look like it was dry weather .
havent watched the full vid yet, but i know i am going to enjoy it. i started watching your channel for your products, and also stayed for your amazing tests and reviews. you're doing a better job than many "proffesional reviewers" out there!!!
Interesting. I’ve seen a few different videos showing virtually no performance difference between the 1250 and the 1300. They all say the 1300 FEELS faster, but in reality there appears to be very little in it.
It seems there is an overall consensus on your findings. For anyone with a 1250, moving to the 1300 doesn't seem like a good decision. Considering the quirks on new product launch, waiting for the 3rd-4th generation might be a smart decision.
Great review Mate. Truly and honestly this is what you want. One and only to see ! Reqlly in depth anf in detail just the one if you are thinkingvof buying one. Thank you. Keep going same way.
I love that you did 2up (my main interest in either bike), but we didn't hear much from the passengers. Is there any way to record all 4 voices next time, while riding, so r can hear the pillion point of view as well as the riders?
Interesting, I switched from a 1250 GSA to a fully loaded 1300. On Friday I pick up another 1250 GSA, to me it is a better all round package. The 1300 needs further development
There's alot of work and thought which has went into making this video in order to be fair in assessing each bike. I have a 2023 R1250 GSA and I agree with the findings because I feel the correct conclusion has been reached without any bias in the assessment process. This outcome I think would also be in keeping with the manufacturer design objectives because we are comparing the more sporty form of the GS with an Adventure version. The test ride was sensibly based on two up which I think generally better lends itself to these GS machines. I conclude this has been an excellent video compilation with serious work input plus sensible comment from the group. I look forward to when the R1300 GSA arrives on scene and we then compare bikes with identical manufacturers design objectives. Excellent English language spoken through out the test and a pleasure to have watched. 👍👍👍👍
Great content! But why compare the 1300 with the 1250 Adventure? This makes no sense. Most arguments of the conclusion are weight related. As there is no 1300 Adventure yet, the comparison should have been with a 1250 non-Adventure.
Has this 1250 gone through the software update to protect the gearbox? Is it Euro V? Is it from 2022 or later? That is something very important that no one dares to talk about. Neither do you?
I mean, you're compairing an older R1250GS ADV to a newer R1250GS with sport configurations. IMO, that's like comparing a 2022 Ford F 150 Lariat to a 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor. To me, the difference between a GS ADV and any other GS is that great. The GS ADV is the full size model, like an F 150. The regular GS is the mid size, like a Ranger. The GS HP, Sport, or Rallye is like a Ranger Raptor, a special edition of the mid sized.
I ride a 1200 GS, comparing regular GS to GSA is kind like comparing apple to an orange. I chose my regular GS for less weight and bulk. So 1300 GS would be my choice over a 1250 GSA. If I wanted the extra fuel and the offroad protection, tires suspension, adventure boxes and was happy with the extra weight. the GSA would make sense. Otherwise the more road orientated smaller lighter 1300 GS would be the choice between a GS or GSA. I would have been much more interested in a comparison of the 1300 GS to 1250 GS. My 20ltr tank made it the 250 miles or 400 K to Eagle Plains. Name 1 road in Western Europe where there is more than 400 K between gas stations. Comfort on the new 1300 is a concern as is its reduced fuel tank. do i upgrade to a used 1250 or spend more for a new1300. I already know I don't need a GSA. Unless you are suggesting a GSA is a better 2 up touring bike than a GS. Which might be the case for some people.
Watching this, and i dont have any bike or permit for driving bike, its 1am in the morning and i have to get up early, bikes are so nice and good that i have to watch it😂😂😂
Firstly, you’ve not compared like for like… however, having had a 1200 and two 1250 before the 1300 I would take the 1300 any day… you do need to do a good few thousand km to start appreciating it, but even if it is smaller, overall it is a much better bike, with or without a pillion. I would not mind having a 1250 again however only if I had to choose between the 1250 and a ktm or triumph. The 1300, especially after you have done 8-10k km is such a smooth bike, the way it handles is just so much better than anything else out there…
While this is about while one is better for riding with a passenger, I'm surprised the passengers got only the last 5min out of the hour video and wouldn't say a word throughout the whole ride. Isn't it the point to see how the ride is from the passengers point of view if you want to see which bike is better for riding in two?
It seem like R1300GS runs at lower RPM at the same speed, so R1250GSA engine have higher or the same amount of torque while accelerating due to transmission difference. That pretty much lead to equal acceleration.
Thank for all the effort your team put into this productive and captivating video! It sure does check all the boxes that we all been wondering! Yes please, R1300GSA review would be deeply appreciated! Easily the most unbiased and pleasurable to watch! Blessed day to everyone!
The gear ratio in 6th on the 1300 is higher than that of the 1250, hence the similarity in 6th gear roll-on. In all other gears the 1300 is a bit faster. They’re both great bikes but the GSA is just too tall and heavy for me!
It's a marvelous bike, but because they changed the iconic GS headlight, they actually changed the whole looks of the bike..... Just Imagine it with the origin headlighjt....... I wish an artist or a 3d programmer could make it just to watch it how it would look like......
the passenger seat on the 1250 looks more comfortable to me, i thought it funny the passengers commenting on the weight of the bike i doubt you can tell as a passenger
If they weren't different, there would be no use in comparing... definitely IN the same category... both BMW Adventure bikes in the same weight & horsepower groups.
It is so simple, this discussion every time again and again . When the make en new model motorcycle off car then it must be better than the previous model, otherwise it have no meaning to bring it on the market. You can put a million off this clips on the net. As so many write on this side you now the answer already.
Not watched the content but i can tell you which one straight away! ....................... Told you. 😊😊 Be good to see the ADV when its out to compare, although i think the result will be similar, in fact so sure, i've just purchased a new 1250 ADV TB.
Strange way to ascend. The poor side stand. My wife, older than the two women, gets on after me. The right leg over the seat. Done. But anyway, this is a test video that can help me. When I buy a motorbike, the 2up riding mode is the more important one for me. Not taking my wife with me on a motorbike holiday is absolutely not an option. . .
I rarely ever take time to comment on videos but I just had to. This is a wonderfully put together video. You can tell alot of time went into conceptualizing it. I got a 23 GSA here in the States.. love it . 5000 miles on and will have over 10k by the end my first year with it. Been flawless..
Wonderfully executed production - and compliments on your use of English as a second language!
Recovering after accident , and this "smooth sailing" ride was all i needed :) beautiful bikes, beautiful scenary and awesome riders ! Thanks !

German women.

Very good content as I was torn between the two . I think you have confirmed my decision as I step up from the 850 GSA to the 1250 GSA…
Made the same transition after having the same doubt
Thank you for the video!
Let's organize a vote.
I'm in favor of the GS 1250 Adv.
It's the most amazing bike I've ever ridden.
Moto Mader, best Dealer in Switzerland! I bought my 1200 GS there! I don’t like the new 1300 GS…for me theres only the 1200 and 1250!
Please do a 1300 GSA vs 1250 GSA comparison at some point. Possibly long trips might change opinions.
I am so Happy mit my GS 1200 ADV ❤
I will ride to Nordkapp in August 2025 ( from Berlin )
Good video and fun to watch. It now would be interesting to see how the new GSA 1300 stacks up against the 1250 GSA

I like a GS 1250 adv because it's very smart and nice to see
I love your videos. This was a great one as always I’m a big 1250 fan. Getting one in a few months can't wait
Great video. I have a personal commitment to never carry passengers. I recognize the inherent risks in motorcycling. I've been hit by cars twice, fallen on an icy road , crashed off road. I cannot expect a passenger to accept a risk they may not full comprehend.

Pssst, @lonerider, the 1300 GSA is out. How about an updated comparison? :) 1250 GSA vs 1300 GSA?
Interesting. I’ve seen a few different videos showing virtually no performance difference between the 1250 and the 1300. They all say the 1300 FEELS faster, but in reality there appears to be very little in it.
Hopefully this will keep the 1250s prices buoyant, good test, thank you
had the 1200gsa adv then Ktm1190adv..gsxr750..gs1200rt..suzuki 1250 bandit. Think you just talked me into the 1250ADV. Great review
Intressant test.
Men jag är nog mer för 1250:n om det var ett köp på gång…och det är det inte i nuläge 😢
Bra v-log , fortsätt så Alex 🤩
Good work brother! Great review!
Love Claudia's jacket!
Great video! Yes, please do the same when the new adventure comes out.
All i want from the 1300 are the extra horses that my 1250 is missing,,??? But I am super happy with my 2024 1250 GSA,,?
Greetings! Is that the stock seat on the 1250GSA?
Wir fahren die 10.000 km ans Nordkapp oder eben nur zur Eisdiele mit der „Dicken“. Super bequem, super sicher und super geil😊
Great content! But why compare the 1300 with the 1250 Adventure? This makes no sense. Most arguments of the conclusion are weight related. As there is no 1300 Adventure yet, the comparison should have been with a 1250 non-Adventure.
Awesome Video Guys
would the ride be more comfortable on a can-am Spyder?
Has this 1250 gone through the software update to protect the gearbox? Is it Euro V? Is it from 2022 or later? That is something very important that no one dares to talk about. Neither do you?
Super video, føler jeg tok rett valg. Ble en ny gsa 1250 trophy nå i august. Ikke angret ett sekund.
Allerede kjørt 5555 km i Nord Norge 😮
are there any leaks for the 1300 gs adventure? how the bike looks or what features does it have?
What kind of camera are you guys are using to record because the resolution looks fantastic?
be interesting to throw the 1300 gsa into the mix :)
This was the dream of my life when I owned a motorcycle from bmw with my life partner
I can hardly wait for the 1250 and 1300 Adventure to face off.

Amazing for your Best motorcycle and video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.🥰
Why would you not compare GS with GS. (1250 vs 1300). Weird to compare GSA with GS.
Firstly, you’ve not compared like for like… however, having had a 1200 and two 1250 before the 1300 I would take the 1300 any day… you do need to do a good few thousand km to start appreciating it, but even if it is smaller, overall it is a much better bike, with or without a pillion. Isn't it the point to see how the ride is from the passengers point of view if you want to see which bike is better for riding in two?
Definitely! Unfortunately, we didn't have onboard mics for the passengers but we will fix this on our next comparison video: R1250GSA vs R1300GSA 🙌🏻
i want test between r1250 gsa vs new launched 1300 gsa with pillion 👆
location please
Great vid 😎
Excellent video and information
When is the 1300 Adventure due to be released 🤷♂️🙏
The end of 2024
Will be launched during BMW Motorrad days in Garmisch, 5-7. July.
It seem like R1300GS runs at lower RPM at the same speed, so R1250GSA engine have higher or the same amount of torque while accelerating due to transmission difference. That pretty much lead to equal acceleration.
why not put the 1300gs adventure instead of the regular 1300gs???
Would be better for the video
This video was recorded in May 2024, the R1300GSA was revealed in July 2024 😉 We mention the new GSA at the end.
Who did handle the camera, a fifth person or a drone?
Thank for all the effort your team put into this productive and captivating video! It sure does check all the boxes that we all been wondering!
Yes please, R1300GSA review would be deeply appreciated! Easily the most unbiased and pleasurable to watch!
Blessed day to everyone!
Strange test why didnt you use the R1250RS
The gear ratio in 6th on the 1300 is higher than that of the 1250, hence the similarity in 6th gear roll-on. In all other gears the 1300 is a bit faster. They’re both great bikes but the GSA is just too tall and heavy for me!
I don't like that you're comparing a GSA to a GS. They are both different in their own capacity. Get a 1300GSA and do it again.
Bmw needs to come up with 1300 GSA for that to be done.
@Username6556username or he should have used a 1250gs.
Great review
What roads are you riding here??
Hello guys, which GPS you use ??
Wow. Hey don’t forget to review the new upcoming 1300 GSA vs a 1250 GS. Kay? 🍏 vs 🍊
very good and interessting review👍
It's a marvelous bike, but because they changed the iconic GS headlight, they actually changed the whole looks of the bike..... Just Imagine it with the origin headlighjt....... I wish an artist or a 3d programmer could make it just to watch it how it would look like......
I use a Map and speak to people on my travels 👍🏴
cool bike, motorad 🔥
the passenger seat on the 1250 looks more comfortable to me, i thought it funny the passengers commenting on the weight of the bike i doubt you can tell as a passenger
Only 19 liters of fuel tank capacity for the 1300 gs. should be at least 25 liters since this is an adventure bike.
With all due respect....comparing 1300gs with 1250gsa is not really fair and they are different categories...just saying
Still the same category but very different bikes indeed, it was interesting to compare them and see the distinct differences side by side 😉
If they weren't different, there would be no use in comparing... definitely IN the same category... both BMW Adventure bikes in the same weight & horsepower groups.
@@adinovak2352This video is focusing on the two latest GS models, otherwise the 1200 would have been included
This is great bc it had the passenger perspectives. That’s what really matters. Thanks! Looking forward to the 1300 GS vs GSA comparison.
Same riders thooo even if bikes r different - it’s about the experience
Goldwing Tour
I like this bike
I like more that GSA 1250
Yoo have to compare the 1300 with standard 1250.
Told you. 😊😊
Be good to see the ADV when its out to compare, although i think the result will be similar, in fact so sure, i've just purchased a new 1250 ADV TB.
1250 all day everyday all the way
I have the R1250GSA and my Harley is way more comfortable 2 up.
Strange way to ascend. The poor side stand. My wife, older than the two women, gets on after me. The right leg over the seat. Done.
But anyway, this is a test video that can help me. When I buy a motorbike, the 2up riding mode is the more important one for me. Not taking my wife with me on a motorbike holiday is absolutely not an option. . .
... so I've bought the 1300 for the job. 😎
Soon
Waiting for the 1300GSA, it looks NOTHING like the 1250gsa, and not similar to the 1300gs.
