Well he made that original “cliff” prediction back in July of 2016 right before Brady’s 39th birthday. It’s now a full year past his 18 month prediction and Brady is about to play in his 3rd Super Bowl since that original prediction.

I think the cliff theory could very easily apply to a professional sport career, it's mainly a term for biological and psychological well-being when a person is closer to the end of their life than the start with evident rapid deterioration. From what I've seen this can happen in a pro's career like Kobe Bryant where he was still playing very well, then got the injury and there was a massive drop in everything about his game (you'd link that more to the injury but it still fits perfectly with the notion) obviously it hasn't happened yet so Max can't be wrong in this video cus he's saying it's still yet to happen (he's wrong in this video if he has to say it again sometime later so at the moment he's right though he won't be for long), that means he's been wrong in every other video that he's preached this idea because it hasn't happened after them either, so the situation is that as long as he's wrong and he keeps preaching the idea then he's technically right as well

I really wish someone would mention Josh McDaniels and the offensive coaching staff in credit to why the patriots have been so good on offense and for the last decade or so really. Max said it at the very end and I'm glad to hear it even if it's not the main point, but Tom Brady is a very cerebral quarterback and knows how to pick apart defenses in the closer section of the field. He throws mid-range passes less than most qb's and rarely throws accurate deep passes (or even attempts them). Tom has been working with some no name guys this year and a hurt gronk which I acknowledge in respect to gronk, but that's how Tom has had it for years. What he needs are good underneath slot receivers and backs that buy into running good dink and dunk routes that can get a ton of yards after the catch. That's why his yards per attempt is inflated a bit. This is how Belichick and McDaniels view as best suiting Tom Brady when it comes to pieces around him and play calling while not overspending. Belichick knows it. McDaniels knows it. Tom Brady knows it. He even acknowledged Aaron Rodgers would light it up in this offense. That is really a statement, not about Aaron Rodgers (bc I don't want to make it about Rodgers), but about what the Patriots gameplan asks its qb to do. To Tom Brady's credit, he has the best football mind, but not really the physical tools. He knows what he does well and excels at it.
The Music Promoter that’s true but the decline is real just not off a cliff Patriots are going to have to win a playoff game on the road this year and this version of Brady is not getting it done if other versions of him have not won a road playoff game in over 10 years
Alek Toledo listen i agree that Tom Brady is starting to decline.. but for Max to still push this “Cliff” theory, it’s just crazy . It’s like he’s being thirsty for clicks with all of these preposterous claims. This is the same guy that said KD isn’t a Top 5 player in the nba
Let it be known that "losing because of Brady" in the last 2 weeks includes a game where his offense scored 33 points and had a 5 point lead with 20 seconds left and were kicking off. If you're not nitpicking any other qbs in the history of the game like you nitpick Brady, then that's proof enough that he's the greatest of all time. I'm pretty sure he would look far better this year with 2017 Gronk, Amendola, and Brandin Cooks. Remember, he started the first 4 weeks of the year with Phillip Dorsett, Chris Hogan, and an inferior Gronk as his top receivers.
The part that must be frustrating for Belichick is that this situation was entirely what he was trying to avoid. Yea Brady has more in the tank but he wanted to move on to Garropolo. Belichick wanted to trade Gronk yet he said he would retire if he was ever traded. Now they are stuck with Gronk who is a shell of himself and Brady, while playing admirably, is seeing his whole team decline while also declining due to age himself. Belichick is about results, putting emotions aside, and knew the time had come to make a move but got stymied instead.
Ppl get mad when you mention Brady isn’t “MVP” Brady no more but say he’s “ok” now. Get our y’all feelings. It’s not like he became Blake Bortles. He’s just 2001 Brady now. And that’s ok. “The cliff” is about what you call the bottom. The bottom for him is still a good QB.
BNAMusic88 _ Exactly people keep getting on max for “disrespecting” Brady but all he’s saying is that he’s not an elite QB anymore. He’s still very good but clearly bot what he used to be. Father Time catches up to everyone no matter how great you are. Brady apologists are just having a hard time accepting that.
Max tries to create a new definition for what it means to “fall of a cliff” so he can say he was right. “Falling off a cliff” doesn’t mean you lose a step or go from elite to very good. It means you drop off and crash - to the point where you can’t play anymore but he’d rather redefine the term instead of being honest.
Is Brady showing signs of decline, yes, but a cliff? No. I agree with Warren Moon about steadily declining, but a cliff is like from tier 1 to tier 10 like THAT.
When Tom Brady retires from the NFL I am all done with football. His examples of excellence over the years has been all inspiring. He is a super man in many respects. To listen to this guy drool over his decline is sickening. Brady deserves our admiration and respect.
Um... you can't fall off a cliff ...gradually. You either fall off a cliff or you don't. The word "cliff" has always been too extreme. Yes, he's going to decline (welcome to the Human Race) but he's not falling off a cliff. The Red Zone INT was a throw of desperation. The squad around him has declined more than anything else. And if these other teams stop beating themselves (like they usually do versus New England) then ...the Patriots will lose. So, a combination of the team's decline and Pittsburgh finally not beating themselves led to the Pats losing. Shout out to my 49ers team for beating Seattle for a change yesterday. ...Proud of you guys.
Max is a biased LeBron stan... he constantly hedges his bets... he likes to make outrageous claims bc he thinks hes smart but they never pan out... so he comes up with excuses... he loves to leave out major details unless they support his batshit crazy narratives... especially with the NBA, he is out of his element and no real NBA fans who have been watching for decades take the man seriously... every now and then he makes some good points but most of the time he just says bs for shock value and anything he can to put down other players not named LeBron... LeBron of course can do no wrong if you ask max kellerman... SMH... what a joke.
Tom Brady is not falling off the 'Cliff' but the Patriots are. There is friction between Kraft and Belichick about Brady continuing as the Patriots QB. Let's not forget the sudden benching of Malcolm Butler right before the Super Bowl kickoff last season. That was a dirty move by Belichick to undermine Brady in that game.
Sorry as a Bills fan I disagree. Let's start with the defense number one it's 31 out of 32 ranking for allowing almost eight yards per carry on the other team. As far as offensive weapons gronkowski looks like the worst he's ever looked slow and not explosive. Edelman coming back from ACL injuries this year dropping passes all the time. Most of the other receivers aren't getting open. Brady in the team beat Kansas City with mahomes and beat Rogers. Top 5 in passing yards right now is actually pretty amazing for what he's working with. As far as the interceptions most of those were tip-offs in the beginning of the year. touchdowns don't mean anything because they run the ball and every time they get to the 2-yard line.
Stephen A Smith being ignorant reading the paper while max is speaking is one thing...but Damien woody on his phone too? Have a bit of respect....you're a guest on the show
Soooooooo DISRESPECTFUL to maxx. Father time is undefeated. Reading the paper and on your phone. F.Y.I. Maxx out wits, arguments are better, and makes more reasonable sense than S.A far more often than S.A does.
The worst mistake they made was getting rid of Jimmy G cause at least when that time eventually comes when Brady does slow down you know you still have the future in a another franchise QB. Kinda like 80s early 90s 49ers
I expected Max to bring up this topic. And unsurprisingly he is cashing it in now after the loss last night. When it comes to this subject he back tracks like no tomorrow. Once Tom proves Max wrong again then he will change his argument. This will continue until he retires.
Why is everyone so upset with Max? Every athlete, even Michael Jordan eventually "fell off the cliff" because of injuries and father time catching up. Or do you guys think Brady will continue to play at an elite level until hes 80? What is so wrong with pointing out that a player isn't what he used to be?
No one taking Max’s “cliff” argument seriously... Stephen A fake reading a news paper and Damien texting his side piece while Max is trying to make his point 😂
ONE OF THE REAR TIMES I agree with maxipad. Brady's last season2019. No one called Brady a scrub, his game is in decline, but he's going quietly. Don't we always blame the QBs...always....why should he be different.
Max Kellerman: Has he given you evidence that hes still elite? 3 TD, 0 INT. 300+ yards in the Miami Miracle game. Rodgers was 0 TD, 1 INT, 200 yards this week. Is it time Max for your boy Rodgers to retire?
"Look at gronk hes not the same look at edelmen hes not the same" Yeah... neither is tom. Red zone sack vs miami. Red zone int vs pitt. And to close out pitt game he had 4 CONSECUTIVE overthrown passes from the red zone? Yeah. No drop off AT ALL! SMH... Tom is declining steadily and will continue to do so. Why do you think bellicheat wanted to keep garappolo? He was expecting to have to start him within these next few years, if not to replace Tom to give him some rest late in a year to get him fresh for playoffs.
So what Stephen A. is saying is, Tom Brady is no longer in a perfect situation like he has had through out his whole career and he actually has to do something for once.
Dook no one is saying he's not declining! But a gradual decline does not mean he's falling off a cliff! Falling off a cliff means goin from really good to really bad in a rapid amount of time. Brady is still a top 10 qb even in decline!
rainman11 Correct but there are still so many Brady apologists like Damien woody, teddy bruschi and skip bayless who are convinced that Brady is still the same QB and hasn’t declined at all. And that’s just delusional.
Dook - Of course, he’s not younger than he was last year. But take a look at his 2013 season. His stats in 2013 were actually worse than this year. He’s been to 3 SBs and won 2 of them.

Thomas Gerber 3 years and his first hot take was saying brady would be a bum by mid 2017. Yet here we are on our way to 2019...
3:47 Max... Don't toot your own horn 😂
Stephen A and Damien is Hilarious😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
29 : the number of months since Max said Tom Brady would fall off the cliff in 12-18 months.
They need to fire Max
Max Kellerman from Bronx, NY. Fair and balanced.
Stephen A. be expanding my terminology. Bloviating. Nice. Then Max...precipitous. I love it.
The players that have come out and said Tom is falling off are talking about how his body reacts and his reflexes. He struggles to move his legs
Good for you
Damien looks so happy to be there
Ppl get mad when you mention Brady isn’t “MVP” Brady no more but say he’s “ok” now.
Secret Agent Randy Beans it’s ok to get old. I remember MJ getting old. It happens
Who is here after they won the Super Bowl in the beginning of 2019.(a few months after max said this)
0:45 - LOL @ Stephen A and Woodley
Stephen A is a whole Mood
Max is clearly right. Did y'all expect him to turn into Jemarcus Russell. Max never ever said he was gonna be trash. He turning regular.
Molly, be quiet please
Uh oh, another Cliff discussion! Ok...grab the paper, lick the finger...turn the page.. drink the coffee...and put Max in his place!!!
Max’s time frame changes every time they talk about this subject.
He just does it for the viewers, he knows in his heart brady is the goat
Is Brady showing signs of decline, yes, but a cliff? No.
I agree with Warren Moon about steadily declining, but a cliff is like from tier 1 to tier 10 like THAT.
Molly was so depressed at the beginning of this segment and it made me so happy
"He is not going gentle into that goodnight" 😂😂I just read that poem in class
Only thing going off a cliff in the Steelers game was the Patriots' offensive line.
Since Max first said this in 2016 Brady
Has a league MVP, 2 super bowl rings and 4 Conference championship appearances
I would love to see PITT go to KC, Pats go to LAC then the Pats host Championship game. That would be hilarious.
I LOVE everyone blatantly ignoring Max!
SMH... what a joke.
topic was not even about lebron. LOL wtf is wrong with you lebron haters
Wrong video bro lol
It's a fake debate show...can't expect much quality
@@slussh2484 All LeBron haters are worse than his fans.
Slussh Slusheez it all relates...
Tom Brady is not falling off the 'Cliff' but the Patriots are. There is friction between Kraft and Belichick about Brady continuing as the Patriots QB. Let's not forget the sudden benching of Malcolm Butler right before the Super Bowl kickoff last season. That was a dirty move by Belichick to undermine Brady in that game.
tom takes credit for everything that goes well for the pats when he really isnt that big of a factor, bill b is...
Im a colts fan but i do know that these 2 losses dont mean much for brady... they said he was gonna decline years ago and hes still playing 🙄
“In sports you’re only as good as the guys you play around”
-Damien Woody
SO EXPLAIN AARON RODGERS PLEASE!!!!
Stephen A just reading the newspaper and sipping on his tea and Damien is on his phone both are not paying max any attention
This is the toughest the afc has been in a long time and a injured team and 41 year old qb are managing to get home field advantage
I like how they ignore Max Kellerman everytime they bring up Tom Brady lol.
ONE OF THE REAR TIMES I agree with maxipad. Brady's last season2019. No one called Brady a scrub, his game is in decline, but he's going quietly. Don't we always blame the QBs...always....why should he be different.
How long before Max starts saying Kap should replace Brady lol
Why does Max put up with how poorly Stephen A Smith and company treat him sometimes. They didn’t even listen to his argument... No class.
They just keep bringing up the topic to troll Max at this point 😂
Max Kellerman: Has he given you evidence that hes still elite?
3 TD, 0 INT. 300+ yards in the Miami Miracle game.
Rodgers was 0 TD, 1 INT, 200 yards this week. Is it time Max for your boy Rodgers to retire?
The Qb is the number 1 play in the game. So when the team looses, Tom brady has to take blame nobody else.
'I refuse to entertain this subject' - Stephen A. right before he proceeds to entertain the subject...
6:17 - 6:22 lmao
What was so funny about that?
@@ephraimjames5292 the funniest part is you taking the time out to ask
Stephen a smith reading 📖 newspaper n tipping on the laptop 💻 while max kellerman talking
Every QB would struggle with that offensive line... except for the greatest QB of all time Nathan Peterman.
3 SB's, 2 rings, and a 2019 6-0 record later . . .
Patriots also lost a lot of players from last year. Brandin Cooks, Amendola, Solder, Malcolm Butler etc
Max kellerman -- reporting for duty .... S.A.S love you too bruh.
Max is 100% correct.
"Look at gronk hes not the same look at edelmen hes not the same"
Yeah... neither is tom.
All I know Brady was up 33-28 with 6 seconds left in the game. 353 yards with 3 touchdowns. Idk how that’s his fault.
So what Stephen A. is saying is, Tom Brady is no longer in a perfect situation like he has had through out his whole career and he actually has to do something for once.
This man is 41 years old. Y'all are delusional to think he isn't declining.
“but no he’s not” molly gets no respect
O lines hold sometimes because the QB holds the ball longer
