Marcellus Wiley exposed SAS perfectly explaining Max was set up from the beginning to look bad and make SAS look good like he’s “the peoples champ” Luckily Max had to much integrity and stood up for what’s right and SAS had a problem with it. #teammax all day
Yeah to elaborate Wiley knows Max as they hosted a radio show together.. basically said max is a historian, Ivy League educated person. Stephen A wanted a token white man, but max is not that guy. He ran circles and made Stephen a look bad. So he had to get max out of there.
And then he rolls his eyes when Max brings up stats and facts like they’re for nerds and mean nothing. Stephen A is a tv personality not a legit analyst.
Indeed he’s made a living off of being a loud argumentative guy. His actual sport’s knowledge is lacking for someone with so many years in sports media.
I can relate to Max wholeheartedly. I look forward to when he returns to the sports commentary landscape with his own sports podcast, especially focused on Boxing/Combat Sports but definitely not limited to it. I believe he could continue what he was able to establish at HBO boxing. It just takes the right fighter (Crawford) era to help him do that.
I remember seeing Max on public access TV so many years ago talking boxing and I enjoyed listening to him then. Seeing him make it to ESPN was amazing. He has always had the passion, voice and knowledge. I hope he lands a spot somewhere that respects what he brings. All love for Max, he deserved better.
And MMA, he talks a lot of nonsense when it comes to that as well. Even Joe Rogan would look at SAS like what are you talking about. And Joe respects him enough to not go off on him. SAS needs to chill.
Damn dude. Honestly, I came into this thinking Kellerman was kind of a clown from all the stuff I have seen of him. This video kind of changed my mind. Dude had some decent points and got shouted down from loud mouth Steven A. Great video, thank you.
If you watched first take back in the day, you would have seen the disrespect. Honestly, it's worse than what skip did to Shannon, but because it's a brother doing it, everyone kept silent.
Y’all realize JJ ain’t been on first take in a while? I think whenever their are co-hosts who are logical and can provide more compelling arguments than Stephen A, he gets em out of there 😂
Here's the real. Stephen A didn't like that Max was seen as campaigning for black issues better and more articulate than he. Also, Max was the anti-Skip Bayless. He didn't say many things just for shock value. And thirdly, Undisputed became more entertaining than First Take.
That was the double edge with max though and kind of a point to SAS. When max did have a hot take or something created “shock value” it was 9/10 strictly analytics based without complete or proper context. Love him or hate him, max has said some of the most outlandish things in sports talk history. “TOM Brady and the cliff (4 years early at that), Kawhi being more clutch than Kobe, LeBron was put here to be the greatest PG that ever lived (current is the all time leader in turnovers). Etc. Not saying he was a terrible talking head, but he def only understands black and white and that’s never the true story in sports.
I love this resurgence of love for Max … Good eventually prevails … sometimes quickly , sometimes slowly … but usually with a dude like SAS , one’s true colors become revealed .
The only thing I didn't like about Max was that he was too subservient to Stephen A. He should have been calling him out for the clown he is. By the end of their run he was like an abused house wife. Stephen A Smith needed to be checked.
The man has a wife and kids he needed to put food on the table for. If it was me, I would have definity been fired but I think Max did the right thing for him.
Max was getting paid a lot of money tk do that show, a lot of us put up with a lot of shot if the money is right, None of you would risk losing that kind of money because some dude is ego tripping Imagine being paid 5 million a year, but quitting your job because the dude you work with is an asshole. Some of y’all making 40k a year in a job full of assholes and you don’t quit lol, it is what it is, Let me get these checks..and take care of my family
Stephen A Smith has always been so insecure in regards to Max Kellerman. Max was always very calm and composed when going up against him because his thinking was much more methodical and intelligent while Stephen A just tries to yell over him all the time. Max simply overwhelmed SAS and Stephen A didn’t know how to handle him.
Well when it comes to Stephen A, he was the only guy who took the lead and was able only to win 🏅 the game against the other two guys in his first match in his first season with a goal in his first game of Cup match against a team which is now a two team tournament
This what get me about Stephen A is like nobody knows basketball but him just like the debate on who’s the goat Michael Jordan or LeBron James in that debate no matter what someone said he had all the right and privilege to determine it’s Jordan and not saying Jordan is not the Goat but that opinion is debatable
Max was right more often than SAS… That’s the truth… Did he say some wild things ? Yes but so does everyone at times including SAS. SAS said it was about “chemistry” I actually enjoyed Maxs breakdowns as he made you think outside the box
@@derpderpin1568the fact your copy and pasting this comment everywhere let’s me know your clearly not all there in the head relax buddy it’s going to be okay 😢
Max Kellerman was articulate and knowledgeable, and not afraid to speak his mind. Therefore a threat to Stephen A. That's why he's not on first take anymore.
I can tell you as a lifelong Bulls fan. When the Bulls played the Jazz I was as afraid of what John Stockton could do against the Bulls as I was Zeke. The fear level was the same and that’s real talk
Right, you’re hoping Stock doesn’t steal the ball or pull up that quick 3 at most crucial situations. History has shown the damage Stock is capable of inflicting, he’s silently killed the Bulls.
John Stockton hands down one of the coldest PG’s everrr!!! He destroyed my young lakers team it was so frustrating but then invigorating when lakers finally got past em!! 🥲😂😂
What makes that debate even more comical is the fact Isiah Thomas himself once said Stockton was held back by Sloan's system in Utah, and that he believed Stockton would've scored at a much higher rate in a more free-wheeling offense.
I’m not really a fan of Max, but he definitely beat Stephen a badly in multiple debates. Made Stephen a look stupid. And this is why max is not on first take anymore
One of the reasons I stopped watching first take was I couldn't stand how much SAS used to shit on Max. Didn't know why cus I never noticed him do that with anyone else. Even objectively stupid people like Perkins didn't get it like that
What happened to Max is similar to what happened to Shannon, they became bigger and better than the boss. Oddly enough, Steven A. and Skip started together, and fired their subornates for similar reasons; they became bigger than the boss.
Back then I didnt realize how Stephen was to max. He looked like he hated max lol. Those personal attacks shows stephen a was fed up with max. Lol Max composure was on point idk how he did it.
Stephen A’s method of debate against Max was to just get louder and louder because he couldn’t prove he’s smarter than max like he could with Skip. With Skip, all Stephen A ever did was use the crazy long complicated words no one ever uses to try and look smart but couldn’t with Max bc Max probably knows the words and their definitions and would call him out on using them wrong lol
I think the LeBron vs KD argument about who is the most skilled offensive player showed me that Max has ten times the Basketball knowledge that Stephen A has. I think the fact that he didn’t play organized basketball should be an insult to Stephen A more than it should be to Max at this point, because he absolutely murdered him when he said “offense doesn’t mean just scoring”
I really don't think it's the TO thing. I think it's because Max never respected Stephen A as the guy of First take or as the "basketball guy". Almost in every clip you showed Stephen A pretty much said that. "You didn't ask me about a jab or a body shot, you asked me about a jump shot". Stephen A felt Max couldn't tell him nothing outside boxing and didn't like the fact he debated him so confidently on such subjects. In fact, the only time Max actually deferred was the TO situation. In other words Stephen A has a massive ego, Max didn't give a shit about that.
@@rashaads3045yea and it’s hilarious SAS feels that way because he literally doesn’t even know basketball. He’s only on air because he’s a caricature. He’s like a muppet. He does that loud little voice and throws his fit it’s all a caricature. He’s annoying as hell

Yeah to elaborate Wiley knows Max as they hosted a radio show together.. basically said max is a historian, Ivy League educated person. Stephen A wanted a token white man, but max is not that guy. He ran circles and made Stephen a look bad. So he had to get max out of there.
Max and Marcellus on ESPNLA back in the day was great radio. Their chemistry and banter was next level.
Love how max uses stats, facts, and examples to make a point. Stephen A just tries to win debates by yelling louder.
@@MisterMann-kh9xb If that was the case, he wouldn't still have a job or be so respected.
@@Rich-km7pr Bro just called Stephen A respected. Also the dude keeps a job because he pulls ratings due to how outrageous he is.

@@MisterMann-kh9xbhe spoke about it on a podcast. He basically got max fired and tried to justify it
I can relate to Max wholeheartedly. I look forward to when he returns to the sports commentary landscape with his own sports podcast, especially focused on Boxing/Combat Sports but definitely not limited to it. I believe he could continue what he was able to establish at HBO boxing. It just takes the right fighter (Crawford) era to help him do that.
He was great with boxing. Miss dude. These analysts outside of JJ and Shannon suck
I remember this angry Stephen and Max just smiling through the disrespect..😂
I remember seeing Max on public access TV so many years ago talking boxing and I enjoyed listening to him then. Seeing him make it to ESPN was amazing. He has always had the passion, voice and knowledge. I hope he lands a spot somewhere that respects what he brings. All love for Max, he deserved better.
Max on Boxing, I remember.
And MMA, he talks a lot of nonsense when it comes to that as well. Even Joe Rogan would look at SAS like what are you talking about. And Joe respects him enough to not go off on him. SAS needs to chill.
I watched Max back in the 1980s as well. He was just a kid and already he was an expert and was delivering lucid analysis.
Max Kellerman and Jalen Rose doing a show together would be a must watch. Hope they both get back to work soon I'm over ESPN at this point.
💯
I’d freaking love that. Great comment sir!!!
Between Stephen A and Malika, I'm sick of ESPN too. Agree 100% 🤮
That would be fire!
Nahh... Jalen Rose is too woke and his Detroit accent isn't great to listen to. Shannon and Max will be better
Good job, that was 10 months ago. Have you woken up to all the other lies?
@@USAbestcountryever hey weirdo what the fuck are you talking about? This is a video about sports personalities on TV
Y’all realize JJ ain’t been on first take in a while? I think whenever their are co-hosts who are logical and can provide more compelling arguments than Stephen A, he gets em out of there 😂
Yup. Lol. Ain't seen JJ in forever.
Basketball season is over 😂why would jj be on set for football takes
No BASKETBALL IS ON. JJ don't talk football😂
@FaceFamous tis is true. But they don't just cover only football. Football is the main topic though.its football season. So tis is true.
He wasn’t a football or baseball player. When the last time you seen Perkins? 🤣🤦🏾♂️
Here's the real. Stephen A didn't like that Max was seen as campaigning for black issues better and more articulate than he. Also, Max was the anti-Skip Bayless. He didn't say many things just for shock value. And thirdly, Undisputed became more entertaining than First Take.
I agree
That was the double edge with max though and kind of a point to SAS. When max did have a hot take or something created “shock value” it was 9/10 strictly analytics based without complete or proper context. Love him or hate him, max has said some of the most outlandish things in sports talk history. “TOM Brady and the cliff (4 years early at that), Kawhi being more clutch than Kobe, LeBron was put here to be the greatest PG that ever lived (current is the all time leader in turnovers). Etc. Not saying he was a terrible talking head, but he def only understands black and white and that’s never the true story in sports.
@@Gemini050788 You said it perfectly. Playing off of Skip's ridiculousness is the formula that worked for Stephen A and Shannon.

Man Max was the only one on ESPN ever bringing up interesting valid well thought out arguments.
The only thing I didn't like about Max was that he was too subservient to Stephen A. He should have been calling him out for the clown he is. By the end of their run he was like an abused house wife. Stephen A Smith needed to be checked.
Its practically stephen a’s show, what do you expect
That’s career suicide. Stephen A got to much power to let that slide
The man has a wife and kids he needed to put food on the table for. If it was me, I would have definity been fired but I think Max did the right thing for him.
Max was getting paid a lot of money tk do that show, a lot of us put up with a lot of shot if the money is right,
None of you would risk losing that kind of money because some dude is ego tripping
Imagine being paid 5 million a year, but quitting your job because the dude you work with is an asshole.
Some of y’all making 40k a year in a job full of assholes and you don’t quit lol, it is what it is,
Let me get these checks..and take care of my family
You're correct, but had he done that, it would've been career suicide.
The more Stephen A speaks of Max, the more RUclips goes back into history, brings the receipts; and Max looks better.
Love Stephen A but he should have kept his mouth shut.
He knew Max was a Real one. So he had to get em off the show. We all see what happened there. Big ups to you Max, get em bro

I can tell you as a lifelong Bulls fan. When the Bulls played the Jazz I was as afraid of what John Stockton could do against the Bulls as I was Zeke. The fear level was the same and that’s real talk
John Stockton took one hall of famer in Karl Malone to the finals twice. Three hall of famers took Zeke to the finals three times.
Right, you’re hoping Stock doesn’t steal the ball or pull up that quick 3 at most crucial situations. History has shown the damage Stock is capable of inflicting, he’s silently killed the Bulls.
Bro I let out a huge sigh of relief when Stockton missed that 3 at the end of game 6 in the finals sheesh😢
@@VoidSurfer9 facts
John Stockton hands down one of the coldest PG’s everrr!!! He destroyed my young lakers team it was so frustrating but then invigorating when lakers finally got past em!! 🥲😂😂
The Thomas Vs Stockton debate was painful. The guy leading in all time steals and assists didn’t stand a chance apparently.
What makes that debate even more comical is the fact Isiah Thomas himself once said Stockton was held back by Sloan's system in Utah, and that he believed Stockton would've scored at a much higher rate in a more free-wheeling offense.
The weed debate was more painful. Holy shit SAS is embarrassing.
Terrell Owens was BAFFLED 😂🤣
I’m not really a fan of Max, but he definitely beat Stephen a badly in multiple debates. Made Stephen a look stupid. And this is why max is not on first take anymore
Exactly
😂 I never seen SAS act like that with someone else. Max use to get under his skin. I love it! He needs to bring him back on the show.
One of the reasons I stopped watching first take was I couldn't stand how much SAS used to shit on Max. Didn't know why cus I never noticed him do that with anyone else. Even objectively stupid people like Perkins didn't get it like that
Max knew it to!😂 Always smiling when SAS would go off
10:05 - 'Molly hiding her laugh' straight classic. SAS knows he's fuct up.
Man I took max for granted

ITS LIKE WATCHING BAD SANTA . LOL
Max knows his worth, he knows when it's worth to talk or not,RESPECT....😊
What happened to Max is similar to what happened to Shannon, they became bigger and better than the boss.
Oddly enough, Steven A. and Skip started together, and fired their subornates for similar reasons; they became bigger than the boss.
so true, didn't realize that
Back then I didnt realize how Stephen was to max.
The was the point SA got right by the way!
It is a lot of it tho..because the amount of players who agreed with TO's take shocked SAS.
Napoleon complex, right? Lol
