Your channel has been highly useful, but I'll leave one item on the "pros" list for auto car washes that isn't really applicable where you are in Nashville: Even if the car wash is doing a hard water rinse, that's not as bad as New York State road salt, where the lower half of your car will be covered in calcium chloride within a day or two if it snowed recently, and if you don't undercarriage-wash that vehicle at least once a week, you'll get a free straight-pipe upgrade after 12 years or so. (Supposedly Subaru exhaust systems are stainless, but 409 stainless isn't enough to resist exhaust temperatures + road salt...)
I live in the shitty part of the Northeast where winters are too cold for handwashing and it rains almost every day in the summer and the road grime sticks to your car like glue
In 2006, I took my brand new week old GMC 2500 HD to a drive thru car wash to remove all the dirt and crud from a recent snow storm. The attendant was using on of those big long handle brushes to mop off the front grill and tailgate areas of the truck. I didn't think to llook it over after the wash and seveal days later found a deep gouge in the finish on my tailgate! I went back to the car wash and unsucessfully tried to get them to cough up for the damage repair but they would not admit they were at fault. While I was there I had them show me the brush they were using and it was actully more like a wire bound mop with had a hard wire end sticking out from the end of the brush. There was no question in my mind that it was their brush that was responsible for the damage to my new truck! They rinse those brushes off into the same bucket over and over, I have never seen them change out the contents or brushes. I don't like the do it yourself washes either because the wands are so long and can easily scratch your vehicle. When the weather is favorable, I try to do all my own car washing and if I have to use a commercial car wash, will use only a touchless wash. Last summer (July thru Sept.) we had a severe drought and water use ban that didn't allow to wash our vehicles at home and had no choice but go commercial. I'm just a guy that enjoys maintainig a nice looking truck and relies on the tips from the pro's like you to help me keep it that way. Keep these videos coming!
You can pre treat with ONR at a DIY wash station. MIt car down and just use their pressure sprayer for rinsing then formula 4 and towel or air dry it. Pretty good compromise if on the road or no wash way at home etc.
I have several vehicles that I detail myself, but I have a 2003 Ford Expedition that I take to a local car wash. The paint looks ok from about 10 feet away. I get the monthly subscription for $29.99 for unlimited basic washes. You can get the unlimited wash with wax for $39.99. I take it about once a week. The Expedition is so big and tall, that it is easier to do this than break out my ladder and equipment.
Depends on the situation my yukon his huge and takes along time to wash its also white so doesnt show scratch as bad run it through then touch it up with a detail spray if I had something like a black porsche that's a different story.
2 totally different worlds.. They both serve their own purpose.. You can't hold a car wash to the standards of a perfectionist professional paint correcting detailer, it's never gonna happen.. Some vehicles belong in a car wash, and some vehicles belong in a detail shop..
Good morning Wilson, I live in Florida it amazes me to see people go through. These machines spend $15 for a wash then go over by the AutoZone and spend $100 to buy other supplies and then complained $45 is too much As if We don’t work hard for that $45. SMH.
Hello. You doing a great job and I just came now to please you for some more long video to lesson about business and how to speak with customers. It is just great to listen and learn. 👍Thanks for your all videos. They are really helpful 👍
@Roman’s Auto Details oh I do just saying. compared to a done through..1 bucket is safer lol. I don't use two though I use a bucket and a bunch of pads that never go back in the bucket
If you don't really care about your paint but want your vehicle to look decent, and you live somewhat close to one of these places then it is actually a really good deal. Especially if you get the unlimited membership. We had a new one built here 2 years ago, they have unlimited memberships which means they have plate readers. For the first month, you got your first wash free. So, I went and got my free wash..with my brand new vehicle with under 100 miles on it and never washed before except what the dealer might have done. Yup, visible scratches everywhere, from a new car wash that was less than a week old. Now I have an 'older' vehicle that I use just for work. I drive by this car wash every day.. I have an unlimited monthly pass for $25, I stop every day. Car looks pretty good. Yeah, paint is scratched all up but I don't care too much.
One of these dented and scratched one of my customers fenders, did a full polish on their car and they now just call me instead, some people need to live and learn
I started my detailing business because decided to stop at a club car wash that opened up the day before, destroyed my car and broke my sunroof glass and my rear glass. On top of all that the glass fell on my 9 month old daughter and 2 year old step son and cut them on the feet. This was all back on September and just now on march are they finally settling it. And that was after they refusing to give me a refund and even made me clean the glass by hand and refused to give me gloves, even tho I asked for them 3 times.
They opened one up by me. I took my daily through it and made the same video. I would never take my Camaro ZL1 through that thing. I detail on a regular basis and I’m against any car wash places. I was curious to see what it was like and what kind of damage it does.Funny how the two guys are vigorously using those brushes on the front and the glass. They are definitely putting those brushes on the sandy ground and sanding your vehicle 😂Good video 👊🏼
I work at a car wash at the moment & yeah we use the same huge brush for your wheels & tires, the prep buckets are full of leaves/sticks/pebbles & the brushes just lay on the ground at the end of the night, yet everyday people come in with a perfectly clean vehicle & demand for us to scrub the entire exterior. Lmao

Do a touchless car wash and let us know what you think. I use those during the winter because no way I am hand washing in 20 degree or lower weather
So what are the “products”you stole? Sounds more like an analysis on the difference between a hand wash and an automatic wash.

Never heard of a rinsing aid to avoid water spots before, thank you very much!
Game changer for us who detail in the sun.

What's the middle product in the intro picture ? Pdp something?
Have years experience using only Superior and PDP product lines. PDP sells extractor solution used with an 8070.

Where can I buy easybeads? Great video brother.👍🏻🇺🇸
Amazon
However I perfect Formula 4 Spray Wax from Superior Products, they’re about the same thing

This man is my intrusive thoughts come to life
Your in inspiration my guy💪🏽 love the videos
is safer to use a one bucket one mit wash method than a drive-through wash
Technically yes but you’re still going to scratch. I suggest 2 buckets one for washing and rinsing to prevent scratches.

I’ve worked at multiple car washes and I can tell you each one has 10s of trim pieces, bumpers, license plates, wiper blades. It’s not just scratches
Lost a tail fin antena and broke my driver mirror at my local car wash, took no responsibility as expected, ive never looked back since then.
reason why it cost 5 dollars to wash your car
One of these dented and scratched one of my customers fenders, did a full polish on their car and they now just call me instead, some people need to live and learn
That was very painful to watch bro😢
But aren't these soft-cloth car washes? They're not "brushes."
Have you ever polished a factory vinyl decal? Like an f-150 sport appearance package decals?
And is polishing a vinyl decal even a thing
Painful to watch that for the car though I thoroughly appreciate your approach of “what can we learn from this to make our life easier?”

Nice video! Yes, automatic car washes can cause a lot of damage to a cars paint. Very informative content👍
bro thanks for explainen i need to use this to sell my service , but people just like to fck up their car for 20 Euro

Scratches entered the chat 😢
Have you lost weight? Your face looks thinner
Too many scratches
