update: I did return these just because for the price ($220) and the fact that I was going to be hiking in these, the heel slip was just too annoying. I'm kinda bummed about it because I really like the shoes, especially the sole/lugs, appearance, and concept. Stay tuned for more sneaker/boot reviews in the future!
Right 220 and ur talking about StockX going for 240+ + 40$ in charges , way too much, I just bought on the third re-stock on Nike barely got a 11.5 cuz my 12 was sold out , if they don’t fit at least i can take em back and I’ll actually know my size for next time
I don’t have the issue of heel slippage. I went up half a size because of the snugness around the uppers and cramped space at the toes. Going up 0.5 makes all the difference. That said, everybody’s feet are unique and different, so it’s best you try them on if you have the chance.

As a long-standing private security professional, I have much of their gear, which includes a great many pants, from TDUs/BDUs (the baggy, tactical pants that groups like SWAT use), to my couple of pair of "Icon" pants 👖, which are the skinnier fitting pants, although they're still tactical, at least durability-wise. Those pants Corbin is wearing, look similar to my "Icon" pants. 5.11 makes OTHER, skinny pants, though, if the Icon isn't to your liking.
I just got these in the black colorway, and I have to tell you, these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn ! even though I do have a wide range of the boost shoes, including the Adidas Free Hiker Cold Rdy (EU 45) I ordered them half a size bigger, making them 44,5, as normaly ACG TTS for me is 44. I have a normal width on my feet, and they literally fit like a glove. Enough space for my toes and absolutely NO heel slipping. I tried them out in a 2 hour walk, and my feet have never been better.. The shoes fit so good that it feels like they were already broken in somehow when i got them. Absolutely amazing comfort, stability, aesthetics, etc. Would absolutely recommend them. Worth every penny. Hope this feedback comes in handy for anybody looking into buying these.
I copped in Blk And my partner got the tans for me. They’re perfect! Perfect fit, true to size (Nike isn’t very consistent) no heel slip for me (the toggle really locks you down) Great ride & return. I’ve already been on a few hikes and a snow storm. Now only if I can get my hands on the black /grey sole!

From wearing Nike’s latest performance runners, I can say that the heel slippage is a thing across the board. I’ve heard from a pro runner that the shape of the heel aids in performance but I do wish the slippage was a little less prevalent for casual wear

Also own the Antarkiks and I'm super happy with them. Favorite shoe in every way. Only one con: Not for every outfit. Mountain flys and Antarktiks looking like from the same family. The fly is the younger, inexperienced and chunkier brother of the Antarkiks. Lol. I miss a short Aquaguard zipper above the lacing system on the flys. Anyway, super review. Thanks, bluekros
I really appreciate it, man!! I try an always up my video quality. I agree, the antartiks are not for every fit, they are pretty loud with a lot going on. Both the mountain fly and antartiks are cut from the same cloth for sure which is why I really wanted to pick them up
I thought the Nike Antarktik looks more aesthetically pleasing. The Mountain Fly look like a beefed-up version of Jordan Proto-Z Black Anthracite imo. It's impressive they manage to jam a carbon fibre plate inside, though I'm curious how it will last on daily streetwear, rough terrains and work purposes for a year. Thanks for doing this detailed video, have been waiting for someone to do this!
I like the antarktik more overall, both fit and aesthetic wise as well!. I googled the jordans and it does resemble that shoe! I would imagine the soles would hold up as my antarktiks have. they have a similar rubber compound.
@@corbincore I am and have been using the Jordan Proto-Z Black for a year now. I like the simplistic zipper and the same react foam is very comfortable for long road walks. I believed it's on discount now and some worth looking into, especially for budget viewers in mind.
I’ve heard that mountain fly runs snug, and many people suggest to go up a half size. I bought them TTS, I don’t have wide feet, and I hope these don’t turn out too snug for me. I also heard that they run a bit short length wise, so I’m really on the fence whether I made the right choice going TTS. What size do you wear if you don’t mind me asking? They seem to run long and bulky on you.
I dont have wide feet either and I would say mine are comfortably snug (my feet feel secure in them). I went with a size 12 which is my normal size. If I were just comparing the length from toe to heel, id say they are a tad shorter than other size 12 nike.

I read the tech spec saying the mountain fly is build upon the frame of it. Keep my fingers crossed. Hopefully the sizing turns out promising for me once I receive them.

I feel like this shoe should have been a committed trail running type shoe. The shank makes it almost feel like a boot but without the support in the the ankles
Have you tried to compare the ACGs to other outdoor shoes such as northface, columbia, merrell,salomon or adidas if have any? As far as I had experienced having ACGs, they're really comfortable but I haven't tried comparing and wearing other outdoor shoes, except columbia. Please give me some ideas..thanks.
You got both acg shoes that I currently want here in New York City and Maryland they are no were to be found. I want able to pick up every acg jacket I wanted this season.
I have the heels slip issue too, I usually wear EU 42 for Nike shoes, I tried EU 42.5 and 43, but it still has this issue, if I choose the normal size, it will be too small for me.
How high does the gore tex membrane go? For my af1 gtx wntr midtop shoes, I thought the gtx membrane goes up as far as the collar, but I was wrong. Water started seeping in right below my ankle.
I believe the gore-tex membrane goes up to the "V-notch" where the laces are. That is disappointing that the gore-tex doesn't go to the top of the GTX :( I googled the shoes and I'm not sure why they wouldn't.
@@corbincore yes, I do notice a lot of sneaker boots have this issue where the goretex does not extend all the way. My adidas free hiker gtx and cold.rdy are mid and high tops respectively both with gore tex membranes. However, the height of the gore tex membrane on both extends only as far as your acg mountain fly. This is quite disappointing indeed.

Honestly the best pickups of the year have been sweatpants and my birkenstocks just because I've been able to stay home ever since march! So I completely can relate haha
Just got mines today from the restock of the triple black or else I would’ve got the khaki colored ones. I went with a 8 instead of a 7.5 and I’m glad I did. It would’ve been super tight. Definitely bought these for the fall & winter since it rains a lot during these seasons in Seattle. I didn’t like the price of $220, at least I won’t have wet socks or mess up my other nice shoes when I’m out & about . 😂
I just got those the other day and had a small heel slipping problem on my left shoe but I think its because when I tuck in the strig I accidentally push the release button making them more loose.. Cool video overall!!

Pretty weird that when these first went on sale, they were only available to "members only". And the very next day when sales opened to the public, half the black versions were already gone! Then suddenly, dozens of resales pop up on eBay, StockX, etc. - usually marked way up. Hopefully, they'll restock the all blacks.

Those are sick! I was just looking at them earlier, I love the look of them.
They've been growing on me, especially with wider pants.
If we put one finger in and pull back the front lace to tighten the upper surface it could help a little bit to prevent slippage.

These look unreal with a wider legged pant. I got some acg 3 layer ski pants and they look amazing with the flared leg.

Same here, my heels slip with every step, but if I go half size smaller, it would be too small
the heel pads really help. just make sure you give the pads time to properly adhere to the cloth.

I was super hyped for these and I really love the concept. But that heel slip was just too much for me and I returned them sadly.

Lol wearing these with slim pants gives a real Herman Munster vibe. Glad these go one easier than last year's model.
