    Omg! I loved this episode! I’m already reading her book and it’s shocking how much my whole life I’ve been attracted to magic but couldn’t find anyone who genuinely believed in it and witchcraft 🧙🏻‍♀️❤

    I'm in the exact same boat as you! I was really all in practicing witchcraft when I was in college, but since moving back home (my parents are Christian) I've been too scared "in the broom closet" to really do anything all the way. Fast forward about 6 years and I've lost my connection to my more magical self and spirituality, leaving me a bit lost and ungrounded. So your video/ interview could not have come at a better time when I'm trying to rekindle my love for Wicca and witchcraft this Samhain (or Halloween) Thank you for having such an open mind on this channel and giving us to chance to learn with you! Blessed be! 💜 ( And literally at 42:50 you asked the question I so needed an answer to!)

    Loved this interview so much ☺ I feel like the witchy community has to undergo a lot of healing, both individually and collectively, because of all these misconceptions about witchcraft and magic out there.

    I have recently been wanting to find out about my ancestral path as like many of us probably are I feel related to a woman burnt at the stake. My witch wound is really to do with that, a deep rooted fear of persecution which though not responded to in such a severe way now I still feel a woman demonstrating any level of power is oppressed and feared almost punished by society. When you contextualise it as the unsung heroes we always celebrate men but not women even down to the fact that women couldn't have an education. Women bear children which keeps our species going yet we are selfish to care for ourselves if we are who benefit as in we cannot experience pleasure. In a way our power has hindered us to the point yielding it has put us in danger and though the threat today is not to our lives I feel many of us hold back our own power to fit a narrative largely driven by oppressive men!

    Wow I have never really looked into this area before but found the talk very interesting! Some of the points seem similar to beliefs held in indigenous cultures who often view the living things around them as relatives.

      yes exactly! I'm indigenous and have always thought beliefs, values, and practices between both are soo similiar.

      It would be really interesting to hear Kalyn’s thoughts on a book that delves into that more like Braiding Sweetgrass or something!

      I’ve read Braiding Sweetgrass, it’s amazing! Brought me to tears more than once. I would love to be able to do a coffee talk interview that dives into the root of indigenous beliefs and cultures, I’ll start doing some outreach ♥️

    One thing I always struggle with this is that magic tries to manipulate situations and people against their will which I think is wrong.

    • @CalypsoCassiopeia
      @CalypsoCassiopeia 7 месяцев назад +3

      That’s black magic. Not at all witchcraft is like that, only if you dabble in certain types

      @@CalypsoCassiopeia what is magic without manipulating situations and people then?

    • @NikkiNotion
      @NikkiNotion 7 месяцев назад +1

      @whitney3585 In my opinion, magic is a lot like praying. It's not about manipulation but more of sending energy and intentions. For example if someone is sick. Be it sending prays or maybe creating a spell. Both are rooting in sending healing energy, and good intentions. It's just different ways of channeling that. 😊

      @whitney3585 Magic, or rituals and spells, is similar to prayer. Both connect with the unseen to initiate change or support to shift the energy around a situation. There will always be people with manipulative intentions, magically inclined or not.

    Why don't you just talk to an indigenous elder? Witches use the same belief system from our culture lol
