I LOVED this talk I love these types of supernatural, inter-dimensional conversations! I have had a few odd little things happen but the biggest one that stands out is right after my grandmother's funeral, I fell asleep in the car on the way to a restaurant with my family. When we got there, they woke me but I said I would be in in a minute, I needed to wake up a bit. So, my family left and locked the car doors (I heard it) and then I was in that in-between state where you're almost asleep but drifting in between until I felt a soft hand stroke my cheek, very real. Picture like when you use the back of your hand to stroke someone's cheek, that's what it felt like. I just assumed that it was my family coming to wake me again so I was like "okay, I'm coming", then 30 seconds later I heard the doors unlock and my mom opened the door and said they got a table so I need to come in and I said "i know, i just told you" and she was confused and then I realized that she wasn't the one to stroke my cheek and I never heard the doors unlock before I felt it. so i've always said it was my grandmother saying one last goodbye ❤maybe when we're in between "realms" of different forms of consciousness (sleep/wake states, even some induced states), the "veil" is thinner?

I’m not sure if I’m just sensitive to these things but I have had a lot happen over the years.
It started when I was about 7, I always felt the presence of an older woman in a house we rented. My bedroom was in the attic and on one particular night, there was a full moon and I woke up is a cold sweat. When I looked around, an old woman was in the doorway, she absolutely terrified me. Blonde short curls, purple cardigan, green top, I still remember is clear as day. My step brother used to have night terrors when he stayed with us and would say an old lady would tickle him in his sleep. We were always getting sick in the house, my little brother who was a baby woke up choking in blood one night, the doctors at the hospital apparently said it was a miracle that he survived. My step dad would tell me years later that he also felt a presence, my mum refuses to talk about that house to this day.
When I lived in a flat a few years back with an Ex, some very weird stuff happened. It was a very old building with 6 flats, we were on the ground floor. Every night, I could hear footsteps outside in the shared hallway. I thought it was just me but my ex started hearing it too. One night in particular, I kept hearing quick footsteps outside our bedroom window in the garden. We turned on the light because I was so freaked out. We fell back to sleep but I woke up about an hour later and the light was flickering constantly, we’d never had issues with it before, on top of that, there was a human shadow in the corner, at that point I screamed, my ex woke up and then proceeded to tell me he’d had a dream of a man standing over the bed but he was paralysed. We were so so freaked out, the next day, I set up a camera and we went out to grab white sage. Upon returning, we watched the footage back and there were green orbs shooting across the room and a man chanting in a strange language in the background. Safe to say we moved out a month later.
I always sense spirits but those two were my worst experiences. Most of the time they’re just quietly there. Like I said, I might just be sensitive to these things…I wish I weren’t! 😅
Thinking about how ghosts can manipulate reality and touch things etc.... I thought about the movie Interstellar, which focus on what Kalyn said about time: outside Earth, time function in a different way. And in the movie there were "aliens" that manipulate time as a forth dimension (x,y,z.. time) and once you unlock their code you would be able to change concrete things also in other part of the universe (making feel their presence) such as Earth. And this relates to today's conversation so much!
The psychic medium Sean Collyns did an interesting reel on Instagram about ghosts. He mentions the soul returns to the light and the ghost is an energetic imprint left behind (low vibrations that do not go with the soul back to the light) and it lingers earthside. It is this souls responsibility in their next life to clean up this energetic imprint (karma) ❤
I heard the same theory about the energy imprints of the trauma (hence the haunted houses) or other energies left behind. And also that those energy imprints are not conscious - it is more like the energy is there and manifest somehow and you just feel the energy trigger the response in you - your own trauma/fears...

This is one of my favorite Coffee Talks!! So interesting. I too have a little experience with the unexplainable. I have my own theories and really enjoyed this video!!
Okay so my thought process on your inquiry of: How do they (ghosts) move things? My thinking is: The same way we do, or the wind does, or the earth does, which is through a manipulation of energy. A "real world" example is I have cats that sometimes open the door to a room they are not allowed in. Now it's a hard door to open you have to turn and push your weight to it, but I have heard my cats run up and then the door clicks open and they push it. Numerous times. And what I think is happening is they hear the shift of the door (because where I live all properties shift because we build on a softer soil) and realize they can go in, and run up and push it at a pressure point and it pops open. The same way they run up when they hear a can of tuna grabbed and the can open touches the lid and is in the moments of the very first pressure point that opens said tuna can is when they dash up from wherever they are. Even if previously they were downstairs "sleeping". So if my cats are capable of that, then in theory so would a ghost be.
Honestly the idea of trauma and like spirits being so attached to that / suffered that they are stuck here, it saddens me but also seems true? I do think since it’s all about the energy itself, it’s like a footprint of that energy seems to be attach itself or is left behind for as you said in case of unfinished business.
don't have any ghost stories but I will never forget visiting Berlin Wall. Ever since stepping out from the underground I felt an overwhelming energy shift. It was as if there was no air there, it was extremely hot (in the winter time) and I felt and extreme sense that I was surrounded by energy so intense that we (the living people) weren't the only ones there, and whatever energy was there just didn't want us there. I left as fast as I could and I don't think I'll ever go back, it was the one thing that made me believe that whatever happens after death some energy lingers back, especially in places where crimes and wars have been committed
I believe in different dimensions that, includes time loops. ♡
I love this topic! I've had multiple supernatural experiences myself, so I know there's ~something~ there. But I agree with you, we will never fully know until we ourselves have passed on. Your stories about the 2015 house are so cool, and I think your idea about how time is different in space/black holes and how you can interact through dimensions is so interesting and I think could definitely be a part of it.

I remember some of this from when you talked about it when you still lived together! It's so cool to get an update and here about your experience. I do believe in spirits, I think the alternative is too scary. No matter what it is, I truly hope there is something after this life whether a spiritual world or reincarnation, just something.
my view on this: yes, some spirits can get trapped (most often by their own minds) however if we use the radio station metaphor, when spirits leave their bodies and don’t stay on earth, they no longer (in my opinion) have to adhere to time and space. therefore they could easily come and go as they please and still be at peace. The first story gave me the vibe that, that spirit wanted you to know that this is their house too and they’re staying there. the other spirit, opening the door, that felt more like a loved one who wanted to show you that they are there for you, you just have to open the door to them. My craziest ghost story: one day i walked downstairs and i sat on the ground to meditate. as soon as i closed my eyes i heard a knock on the door (the cold cellar door) and heard “hello?” come from a middle aged woman’s voice. i kept waiting for my dog upstairs to bark, for somebody to walk over to the door upstairs and open it, when i realized it came from directly beside me and i was the only one who heard it. later on we came to the conclusion that the cold cellar was a portal that spirits could come and go from. i actually have a video of a knocking sound coming from inside of it
I lived in a house for a few months last year, at first everything was pretty normal, but when we were on the west side of the house, i had a strange feeling. Some doors were getting opened or closed at first we were putting it on the wind as it was quite warm and we left a lot of windows opened. Then we saw some door open when we were in a room with everything else closed, after that we kept on listening to a movie but I felt like we weren't alone watching it, the more we were in that side of the house, the more "it" felt comfortable with us. I could feel him when I was cooking or prepping myself in the morning, sometimes during the day when I was home working. Never on the East side though. At some point I pointed it to my boyfriend who is completely non believer on that, but he told me he felt it too, something strange was happening and he brang up the fact that it was also only in certain rooms. I could sense that it was an old man that was feeling lonely in a way. I never saw it, just felt it and saw the doors and window move. When we talked with someone who knew the house, they told us that the house was re-built quite a few years back, the east wing was new. And there were an old man, quite nice that died in his bed, in the room where our computer were. I was quite happy leaving the house, I felt like we were disturbing him and he needed his rest. I never had this in my house, or in our flat before that. It was such a strange experience.

The thing about 3rd dimension and not being able to manipulate it: even normal people can open a door or bend a spoon with their minds. We are in 3rd dimension but we are even more than our phisical bodies. Also I have read a book about dimensions and we are not able to see the whole picture. We can not imagine a 4th dimension. If you ask a square to see a circle it will say that it is like a line. It wont understand how or why it is different hope it makes sense. I am not speaking English much nor it is my main language so hope you get me 😂❤🎉
May I ask what he book is called because I'd LOVE to read this! I do believe that humans are capable of anything plus with me loving the spiritual, paranormal science of things, we are capable of many thing and we aren't tapped into anything.
another spooky possibility for your cat story is a glitch in the matrix. if you go to the subreddit on that there are so many stories like yours about cats appearing where they shouldn’t be able to. or maybe cats just defy our laws of reality 😂

I've definitely had some eerie experiences that seemed more than natural and I'm very interested in learning about what people think occur after death.
Golden Girl was a fantastic book btw! I love Elin Hilderbrand and I wonder how much her battle with breast cancer influenced this book. Her book, The Hotel Nantucket, has chapters written from the resident ghost's perspective which is fun.

The only thing that happened to me was I also found the tv in the basement opened to channel 1 back in the day when I was younger
I don't entirely know what I believe... well I do but I don't. For the longest time, I didn't believe in ghosts for the sole purpose of the paranormal being my biggest fear. If I didn't believe in them, I had nothing to fear, right? A few years ago I lost a S.O. and recently had the curiosity about reaching out to a medium. The passing was tumultuous and there was a lot of unanswered things between my ex and I so I figured I'd try it and if it was quack then cool I have nothing to fear.
Anyway she was able to tell me the mechanism of death, what was happening between he and I in the moment, how we met, and even threw in a quip at the end that completely sealed the deal for me. She had channeled him in some sense.
Now do I believe in ghosts? I still try to say no because the idea still scares me, but who am I kidding. Our lost ones, in some capacity, are still around us
When I was little kid, my family was visiting my aunt who then lived in an old house. Her and my mom were downstairs in the kitchen talking when all of a sudden I came from the room upstairs when me and my brother were trying to sleep, and I told them there was a ghost. I wasn’t freaked out or anything, it was more of me staring the fact. Which makes me think that it could have actually happened, cause if I was scared, I would just assume it was my vivid imagination playing tricks on me, which happened maaaany times in my life. I don’t remember any of that, my mom told me this story when I was older. We did a little digging after that incident and it turned out that the village my aunt loved was a subject to very brutal, horrifying incidents during the WWI (people slaughter, rapes etc). As much as I personally don’t believe that much in “ghosts” as pop culture often portrays them, I do believe in forces beyond our understanding that we know nothing of. The soul itself - it almost doesn’t make sense to me that once we die, it just disappears with no trace. Also the fact that some places for no reason at all feel like home - how is that possible? Past lives, perhaps? I myself had no connection to Norway whatsoever, in the slightest, but always felt the strongest calling to that country. To the point that when I actually moved here, the second I stepped foot in the Norwegian ground for the first time, I almost cried, cause it felt like coming back home after a long, long time. I had a similar feeling after going to England. A very strong, genuine affinity for no particular reason. So I often joke that in my past life I was a Viking who travelled to England to settle down 😂 It’s a joke, but… is it?? 😏 so much we don’t know!

What if a mirror flys off the wall in the living room and wake everyone up in the house at 3am with glass all over the floor and everything underneath it was ok or minor damage. That really did happen to me and my mom and my daughter.

It is not a bad spirit. A medium said it is a guardian. Sometimes we hear it run up the stairs and past our bedroom at night. It is a 1974 house.

First, clearly cats are magic :) Second, I do think there's "something." I'm not sure it always manifests physically like the examples she gave. Sometimes it's more subtle. Like, I will just have a thought pop into my head, I'll actually hear it as if someone speaks it to me but there is no one. I'm not sure if that is a spirit guide or one of my beloved ancestors giving me a message and trying to help me. None it has been scary to me, it's always been comforting, that's why I think it's my late grandmothers.

As you said you would love to know.. How? Its happening.. From my knowledge, if you talk about and show interest to know mysterious knowledge even burn candle to know something hidden.. Its shows their existence.. As Muslim it's written in Quran.. Jin exist.. And if you want to see.. Just recite some words again and again for certain time.. It will show you signs they are here.. Only to those who keen to see the mystery of life and some secrets matter of human..
